On this episode, we sat down with Benjamin Ibe on the ups and downs of his pursuit as a Doctor of Pharmacy. We know God has called us to be MIGHTY people in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. God tells us to build ourselves up in our most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit. (Jude 1:20) Today, we pray to help build up our faith to do what God has called us to do, to have faith to become what God has called us to become. Jesus said in John 14:12 "Verily, verily I say unto you, He that beliveth on me, the works that I do he shall do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." For those that God is calling to any field in STEM know that God wants you to be great at it. He wants to do great things through you. He wants to use you to establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. When Jesus said greater works shall he do he was talking about US! Us who are belivers in Him. Identity is something that can be a struggle. We ask the questions: who am I? What is my purpose? What are my likes/dislikes? It can be easy to adopt the identity of others and the world around us. Confidence…On a scale of zero to Kanye West, what are you? Have you ever been one to believe that you can achieve greatness but had not been putting enough of the work in to get there? Giving up is something we feel like doing when the going gets tough. If you know that you are called to be a game changer, do not give up despite the obstacles you face. Identify the moments when you feel like giving up the most. Next pay attention to the way you speak to yourself because as Proverbs18:21 states, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” What are you speaking that's causing you to feel like giving up? Failure is often something we are afraid of experiencing but it is something that is inevitable. Today, we discuss how failure is often necessary to propel you forward. It teaches you whether what you're going after is truly what you want. It is often in our failures that we learn where our strength lies. Have you ever felt like an imposter? That maybe you don't belong in the room? Have you ever been afraid that people are going to figure you out? That you aren't as qualified? Today, we discuss dealing with imposter syndrome. You must shift your mindset. Take every negative thought captive and speak life into yourself. As students in STEM, we are often inundated with classes, assignments, labs, organization meetings, etc. so much to the point we feel like we are juggling so much at once with limited time for ourselves and loved ones. This prolonged period of balancing everything on our plate can lead to burnout.
