Real faith is proven by action. Culture says it's fine to be Christian—just don't be too Christian. But the more we live like Jesus, the more “radical” we'll look. Faith alone brings us into God's family, but following Him requires effort. In this episode, Whit George and Blake Zimmerman unpack what true obedience looks like and why legalism and lawlessness both miss the point. Show notes: Check out the weekend message: Obedience Over Elaborate Affection In this episode, they recommend the book A Guide to Prayer for All God's People About Church on the Move: We are a family of churches in northeast Oklahoma. Our mission is to introduce people to the real Jesus. A lot of people know about Jesus but have yet to experience the life-changing power of His grace and truth. Knowing Jesus has transformed our lives, so our goal for each of our worship services, from our kids' environments on up, is to help people know that same love. We actively pursue Jesus in everything we do, and we believe He's given us a vision for a church that is deeply centered on Him and His word. Faith without works is dead. What does that mean? Does it have anything to do with eternal salvation? In today's message, Pastor Cucuzza begins a new series, "The Most Misunderstood Passages in the Bible." His first message in this study covers James 2.
What if the greatest danger for Christians today is thinking we're prepared for eternity, while living on half-full lamps? In this episode, Heather reveals the hidden truth in Jesus' parable of the ten virgins: all ten had oil, but only five had enough to enter the marriage supper of the Lamb. She unpacks what this means for us now, why simply saying “I believe” falls short, and why God is looking for those who answer His call with a wholehearted “Here I am.” Through biblical examples and sobering insights, Heather exposes how lukewarm teachings have misled many into thinking partial obedience is enough. She emphasizes that true faith is proven by action, that sanctification is not optional but necessary, and that the fear of the Lord anchors us in daily submission. This conversation will challenge you to count the cost of discipleship, lay down your own desires, and embrace sacrificial service to others. Above all, it calls us to examine whether our lives reflect the oil of obedience—or risk being shut out of heaven's door. In this thought-provoking episode of the Voxology Podcast, Mike and Tim tackle the implications of “thoughts and prayers” in moments of societal crisis to addressing the pervasive dehumanization in modern culture. Mike and Tim challenge listeners to rethink how faith shapes engagement with justice and truth. Through examples like prophetic critique in scripture and the importance of naming reality amidst propaganda, the episode offers actionable insights for embodying Jesus' teachings in a culture dominated by division and misinformation. The conversation starts with the pressing challenges of navigating life in a post-truth world while standing for justice and truth. The conversation delves into the intersections of faith and politics, exploring how Christians can respond to cultural issues with cruciformity and humility. Drawing from scripture, theology, and practical insights, the hosts reflect on the role of the church in society, the importance of lamenting injustice, and fostering hope through communal witness. "Faith Without Works is Dead" - Clay Stauffer - August 24, 2025 by Sermon
Faith is not just what we believe, but how we live it out. In this powerful message, Pastor Joshua Emmanuel Mefful unpacks James 2:14-26 and shows us that true faith produces action. Our works do not save us, but they reveal the living faith we have in Christ. Through key scriptures, we see three truths about God's faithfulness: God is Faithful – He always shows up (James 2:14-18) God is Faithful – He doesn't disappoint us (James 2:21-24) God is Faithful – He is alive and at work (James 2:26) Supporting Scriptures (NIV): Matthew 6:2-4 | Ephesians 2:8-9 | James 2:17-18 | 1 Peter 2:6 | Colossians 3:23-24 | Romans 5:8 Be encouraged to put your faith into action and trust God's unfailing promises.

There are many people who believe that because we are justified by faith, the way we live our lives—our thoughts, words and actions—has no bearing on whether or not we are saved. The New Testament actually teaches the exact opposite.
Welcome to our in-depth livestream Bible study on James chapters 2 and 3! In this powerful teaching, we'll explore what it really means to have faith with works and the dangers of an untamed tongue.
Message from Tony Fiser on June 1, 2025
"I have not found anyone with such great faith" The faith that believes in the authority of the word. That sees the power embedded within the authority of the word. He was a centurion. You are His child. Are you working out your faith? This Sunday, in line with a "Thanksgiving Service" for our "7th ANNIVERSARY", we will be discussing "Speak the Word Only for Faith Without Works is Dead".
In this episode, we study James 2:14–26, unpacking the powerful message that faith without action is dead. Through a blend of biblical teaching, cultural insight, and personal reflection, Nicole walks listeners through what it means to live out an activated faith—a faith that doesn’t stop at belief but blossoms into transformed choices, emotions, and behavior. She explores the Jewish tradition of Midrash, connects teachings from both the Sermon on the Mount and the Old Testament, and shows how stories of Abraham and Rahab illustrate the principle that genuine faith leads to meaningful action. What Does It Mean for Me? Faith transforms everything: True faith should visibly impact how we think, feel, act, and make decisions. Faith and deeds are inseparable: Good works are not the cause of faith, but the evidence of a changed life. Biblical examples matter: Abraham and Rahab demonstrate that active obedience is the fruit of authentic belief. Scripture speaks urgently: James’ tone invites us to ask tough but necessary questions about how we’re living out our faith. Spiritual maturity means visible change: Real transformation isn’t private—it’s relational, observable, and ongoing. Simple obedience is powerful: A daily prayer of surrender—"Lord, I want to go where you go. I want to do what you do."—can reorient our lives around God’s kingdom priorities.
be bold enough to add works to your faith.

Bishop Robert Barron’s Sermons - Catholic Preaching and Homilies
Friends, “fools rush in where angels fear to tread”—and this week, I am going to go once more into the issue of faith and works, which has been dividing Western Christianity since the Reformation. Our second reading from the Letter of James is a key text on this issue, and its metaphor of healing—together with Paul's forensic metaphor—orient us to the Catholic view of justification.
