Introduction: The Book of Haggai is a book about God, about worship, about holiness. These themes take us back to the days of altars of Noah; of Abram (Abraham); of Isaac; of Jacob; and the Tabernacle of Moses (Play Video of Tabernacle). Haggai is the 37th book in the Old Testament . Haggai is a Post-Exilic book meaning the timeframe happens after the Babylonian Captivity. God directed the Assyrians, Babylonians, & the Persians to accomplish His will!I. Let's set a timeline:1. Solomon's Temple built around 957 BC (United Monarchy)2. The Northern Kingdom (Israel) is defeated by Assyria in 722 BC3. The Southern Kingdom (Judah) is defeated by Babylon and the Temple was destroyed around 587-586 BC. The Book of Lamentations was written by Jeremiah based on what God did and what he saw (Lamentations 3:22-23)4. Zerubbabel's Temple (Book of Haggai) started in 536 BC and stopped with the foundation. 5. Restart on Zerubbabel's Temple started back in 520 BC. Finished in four months. Some were alive to see Solomon's Temple.READ HAGGAI 1 & 2 II. Some critical statement made in these 2 chapters:1. “Consider your ways” – 1:5 & 72. “That I may take pleasure” – 1:83. “Obeyed the voice of the Lord” – 1:124. “I am with you” – 1:13 & 2:45. “Be strong” – 2:4 (3 times)6. “The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former” – 2:97. “Make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you” – 2:23 III. The Book of Haggai is connected to the Book of Ezra1. Read II Chronicles 36:22-23 2. Read Ezra 3:8-133. Read Ezra 4:1-5 (“adversaries” lied; “discouraged”; “made them afraid”; “bribed”). Fear of man paralyzes us. Fear of God frees us.4. Cyrus & Darius blessed the returning remnant (and paid for the rebuilding project!)5. Read Ezra 5:1-2 (Back on track) IV. Haggai 1 – WHAT TIME IS IT?1. Haggai 1:3 - 2. Haggai 1:8 – 3. Haggai 1:12 4. Haggai 1:13 – 5. Haggai 1:14 –CHAPTER 2 NEXT WEEK
I. Introduction: The Book of Haggai matters because the Temple matters. The Temple matters because worship matters. Worship matters because God is a holy God and commands those who worship Him to be holy as well. The Temple is primarily about God's presence, but is also about God's place. Don't make the place more important than the presence. The pride of the Temple was a problem in Solomon's day and in Jesus' day. II. Read Haggai 1 & 2 (Matthew 6:33-34) III. The History of True Worship -• False worship -• Vain worship -• True worship - 1. The altars in Genesis: a. Genesis 8:20-22, Noah at Mount Ararat b. Genesis 12:5-7, Abram at Shechem c. One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on 'The Daily Radio Bible' for a daily 20-minute spiritual journey. Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! It's June 25th, a new day in our journey through the scriptures together. I'm your host Hunter, your brother and Bible reading coach—coming alongside you daily to walk through the pages of God's Word and point the way to the living Word, Jesus. In today's episode, we dive into the dramatic visions of the prophet Joel (chapters 1–3), where we hear about devastating locust invasions, calls to repentance, and God's faithful promise to restore and pour out His Spirit on all people. Then, we turn to 2 Timothy chapter 1, as Paul encourages Timothy to "fan into flame" the gift of God within him, reminding us all that God has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline—not fear. Together, we'll reflect on what it means to tend the fire of God's presence in our lives, trust Him in every season, and pray for His Spirit to move in our world today. So grab your Bible, settle in, and let's be nourished by God's Word and presence—because you are deeply loved, and you don't have to walk this path alone. Let's begin today's reading and prayer, right here on the Daily Radio Bible. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Fan into flame the gift of God. If you want to cook, you're going to need some fire. If you're going to eat, you're going to need some heat. Every day, you must fan into flame that gift, that fire, that God has ignited in your life. That's what Paul is telling Timothy here in 2 Timothy 1. He says, This is why I remind you—apparently he's told him this before—to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. The fire of God's abiding presence in us illuminates our path. It gives us power to live out our purpose. Paul tells Timothy: let it burn. Let it light the path. Fan that into flame. Do all that is necessary to tend that fire within you, then see what God will do. And the same is true for us. God has given us a gift—it's his abiding presence in us. There's a specific purpose that he has uniquely gifted each of us for. And it's the Spirit's fire that will illuminate that path for us and empower us to participate with God and to live out our purpose, even this very day. As you abide in him and walk with him and trust him, the fire of God's presence—his Spirit abiding in you—will show you what's required of you. Ask him to make you diligent, to tend to that fire of life, his life in you. May you fulfill all of his purposes for you. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Gracious and everlasting God, you have brought us through the shadow of night into the promise of a new day. You go before us with your mercy, sustain us by your grace and keep us from wandering paths of fear or pride. Let every word we speak and every step we take be formed by the goodness of Christ. O Lord, gather your people far and near. May every tribe and tongue come to know your peace. Let justice roll like a river and healing flow where there has been division. Pour out your spirit upon all flesh and bring us closer to the day when your kingdom comes in fullness through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation. Big Idea: Growing your relationship with Jesus will also grow every other relationship. - Part 21 Corinthians 7:10-241. Marriage is a covenant from God.1 Corinthians 7:10-13To the married I give this command-not I, but the Lord-a wife is not to leave her husband. But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband-and a husband is not to divorce his wife. But I (not the Lord) say to the rest: If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce her husband.2. It reflects Christ and the Church. 1 Corinthians 7:14-16For the unbelieving husband is made holy by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy by the husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is they are holy. But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace. Wife, for all you know, you might save your husband. Husband, for all you know, you might save your wife.3. Live for God where you are right now. 1 Corinthians 7:17-20Let each one live his life in the situation the Lord assigned when God called him. This is what I command in all the churches. Was anyone already circumcised when he was called? He should not undo his circumcision. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? He should not get circumcised. Circumcision does not matter and uncircumcision does not matter. Keeping God's commands is what matters. Let each of you remain in the situation in which he was called.4. Allow God into your situation1 Corinthians 7:21-24Were you called while a slave? Don't let it concern you. But if you can become free, by all means take the opportunity. For he who is called by the Lord as a slave is the Lord's freedman. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ's slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of people. Brothers and sisters, each person is to remain with God in the situation in which he was called.Next Steps: Believe: I need God to restore my relationship this week.Become: I will seek God in my relationship today. Be Sent: I will set the example as a spouse, single, divorced, or widowed this week. Discussion Questions:1. Do you feel God intends for everyone or most people to get married? Why or why not?2. How would you deal with being in an unequally yoked marriage?3. What are your thoughts on divorce?4. In what ways can believers direct their current marital or single life for the glory of God?5. Do you judge people who are single between 25-50, and wonder why they haven't gotten married and have kids?6. How does Paul's teaching on marriage challenge or affirm your personal views?7. How can the church better support both single and married individuals?8. Pray for people in whatever status (married or single) they are in this week.
But God said to Abraham, "Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac your seed shall be called. Yet I will also make a nation of the son of the bondwoman, because he is your seed." Genesis 21:12-13

Drawing from personal reflection, cultural insights, and biblical truth, we are led on a transformative journey through the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:5–14, revealing that our true value lies not in worldly status, achievements, or possessions, but in our unshakeable identity as sons and daughters of the King. Jonathan Meyer explains why keeping God's Word is not just about obedience—it's about love, transformation, and becoming a dwelling place for God. When we receive and live God's Word, Christ Himself dwells within us and begins to transform us from the inside out.

You are going to learn so much from this episode. I know I did. David Schmidt is a Theologian, engineer, dad, and coach who has traveled over 5 decades with God and found Him faithful. It's been an adventure and time of growth the biggest wins are always experiencing God work when you trust Him and take Him at His word. God has blessed him by putting him into a Christian home and protected him from so many hardships and brokenness of this world. He is grateful and in awe of what goes on in the world. He was challenged to meditate on God's Word over 28 years ago and has always grown spiritually and in maturity when he would abide in God's Word and believes in acknowledging God in everything we do. Meditating on God's word will help you grow in your relationship with God. It takes effort, and work, like the man building his house on the rock, but well worth it. We talk about Biblical meditation, what that means, and the results that come from it. Biblical meditation is the filling of your mind with God's word, thinking upon it, understanding it, and ultimately being transformed by it. It is in stark contrast to the counterfeit meditation popularized today of emptying your mind. What Biblical meditation is: to dwell on anything in thought; to contemplated; to study, to turn or revolve any subject in the mind. #1 Thing Keeping God's Chosen Ones from Spiritual Destiny! | Cub Kuker Supernatural Podcast (EP526)The greatest deception ever imposed on God's chosen ones is the idea that Scripture must be read as a literal, historical narrative. This is the single most destructive mindset that keeps the spiritually awakened trapped in limitation, chasing timelines instead of unlocking the supernatural power within them. The Bible itself declares that it is an allegory—yet countless seekers still try to force a physical, historical framework onto a text that was always meant to be read spiritually.——“Chosen One, Walk in the Mysteries of God's Supernatural Abundance!”
Sign-up for my free 20-day devotional, The Word Before Work Foundations, at http://TWBWFoundations.com--Series: God's Will for Your WorkDevotional: 2 of 4Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts. Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them. Were you a slave when you were called? Don't let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so. (1 Corinthians 7:19-21)My pastor Chris Basham offers an analogy about God's will that I love. Imagine you set up a backyard full of activities for your kids—a pool, a swingset, monkey bars, a trampoline, a football. You tell them they're free to play with anything they like, as long as they stay inside the fence, because beyond it lies a pond filled with venomous snakes. Now imagine your kids keep asking, Can I throw the football? At some point, you'd say, Of course! I wouldn't have put it there if I didn't want you to enjoy it.Many of us act like those kids—constantly asking God for permission to do things he has already permitted. And that's precisely what Paul addresses in today's passage. The Corinthians, young in their faith, were asking: Should we be circumcised? Should we change jobs? Paul's response? It doesn't matter. “Keeping God's commands is what counts.” That is his “will” as we saw last week. If all of your options are within the fence of obedience to God's commands, you're free to choose.Paul's words bring me to the second truth for discerning God's will for your work…Truth #2: God's will is that his children have free will within the boundaries of his commands. This may explain why you sometimes don't hear a clear answer from the Lord when weighing two equally God-honoring choices. God just might not have an opinion. It's not that he doesn't care—he simply might be delighting in your freedom.Extending my pastor's analogy, imagine your kids ask not for your permission per se but for your opinion—Should I swim in the pool or jump on the trampoline? Your response would likely be, You choose! As long as you stay in the fence and want me with you, I'll be thrilled.Let me be clear: You very well may hear a clear answer from the Lord regarding the decision you have to make. But maybe God's lack of an answer is his answer: You are my child. As long as you stay within the boundary of my commands, you are safe and free.Paul's words just a few chapters after today's passage are instructive here: “whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). In other words, if your motivation as you make decisions is “the glory of God” you are free to do “whatever.” Glorify him today by choosing freely within the boundaries of his commands.
Welcome to Divine Savior Church in Doral, FLMessage: Depression: God's Word Gives Lasting HopeSeries: TabooService Host: Pastor Ben KuerthDepression feels so overwhelming. Many times, there's the feeling of having no hope. Here, we see the psalmist feel despair, his soul thirsting for the Lord. But then he talks to himself. Why am I so down? Even in this desperate situation, he is my Savior and my God. If only that was the silver bullet. However, depression can be like a yo-yo; wrestling match in the mind. One minute we know our hope is in God. The next moment, we are back to despairing. Keeping God's Word in our mind, thinking about the hope we have, meditating on his promises, and the hope we have in him. Psalm 42, 1 Kings 19:1-18 2 Corinthians 1:8-11 Psalm 88

“Memory is power. The person who says that history is bunk, or that the past is gone and all that matters is today, just doesn't know much about real life. In real life memory has tremendous power to inspire and guide.”—John Piper, Pastor & Author Luke 1:57-80
