In this episode, we're diving into the powerful and often misunderstood topic of spiritual gifts. What exactly are they? Who receives them? And why did God give them to us in the first place? We'll explore key Scriptures like Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4 to unpack the purpose and power of these gifts—and how every believer has a role to play in building up the body of Christ. Whether you're trying to identify your gift or just looking to understand how the gifts function today, this conversation is for you.

Why Jesus Said We Would Do Greater Works Than He Did: Daily Scripture Reflection (recorded 2024) by Priests for Life
Saturday of the Fourth Week of Easter
Jesus invites us this Miraculous May to step into His promise that anyone who believes will do even greater works, reminding us that God often over-delivers beyond our expectations. In honest acknowledgment of our frustration in the waiting, we are called to bring our doubts to a compassionate Father, stand firm in faith between the now and not yet, and believe beyond what we see.
Greetings, my friends.God, who desires our success, has a deeply personal plan for each of us, uniquely tailored to our individual strengths and circumstances, and is intimately involved in every assignment He gives us.God's unwavering love for you and me, coupled with His promises and His Holy Spirit, provides the power to transform our mindset and to accomplish every task.God has not just works but 'greater works' in store for you and me. This profound truth should inspire us and ignite a fire within us to aim higher and achieve more, knowing that we are capable of extraordinary things. Here is how God instructs us to develop His way of thinking. I believe God is showing us to have our thoughts aligned with His as we accomplish more significant works.Tony
This Sunday in our series through the Gospel of John, Pastor Jeff Sparkman speaks on the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, praying in Jesus name, and Jesus's promise that we will do greater works. We pray for the Holy Spirit to empower us this week!
For generations, master craftsmen have passed down their skills to apprentices, shaping the future through hands-on training. In the same way, Jesus calls us to be His apprentices—learning from Him, growing in faith, and sharing His truth with others. Who are you pouring into? Who will know Jesus because of you? Let's be on mission and multiply the work Jesus is doing in us!
The Bible states that "...God has not given us a spiritof timidity, but of power and love and -->self-discipline.
In Week 4 of Discipleship 103 we continued our series with a discussion on the "Fruit of the Spirit." This fruit (“product, result, gain, outcome, harvest) is the manifest evidence one may expect from a life in which the Spirit of God is living and reigning. These qualities are to be found in believers because of the change the Spirit of God has made in them. The word fruit indicates that the issue in this matter is not what man can do. A fruit is not something that is made or done. The ‘fruit of the Spirit' are not human products but the result of God's Spirit dwelling within men. The singular - "fruit" of the Spirit, shows that the nine virtues mentioned are not different jewels, but are different facets of the same jewel. All of these qualities are found in every believer who is led by the Spirit. For more information please contact us at greaterworksdiscipleship@gmail.com. In Week 3 of Discipleship 103 we continued our series on "How To Study The Bible" by learning about the "The Interpretive Journey," a 4-step process to biblical interpretation including: 1) Grasp The Text In Their Town; 2) Measure The Width of the River To Cross; 3) Cross The Principlizing Bridge; 4) Apply The Text In Our Town. After this, in preparation for studying the "Fruit of the Spirit," we placed the class in four groups and challenged them to study specific verses in Galatians and use the various resources (commentaries, bible handbooks, etc) to discover the CONTEXT of the verses. Finally, we provided an overview of the epistle of Galatians to help our students understand the immediate context of the discussion of "Fruits of the Spirit," in light of the larger context of Paul's writing to the Galatians. NOTE: From the 36:54 - 1:02:27 mark we are in breakout rooms so there is no recording during that time. This series is designed to help Christian disciples learn how to read and study the bible in its proper historical, cultural, geographical, linguistic and literary context. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12

Jesus said in John 14:12, “If you believe in Me, you will do the SAME Works I do, and GREATER Works, because I go to My Father. And whatsoever you ask in My Name, I WILL DO IT!” Jesus promises to answer your prayer Himself. Why? In order to glorify the Father through YOU. Prayer is not some formality, wishful thinking, or empty repetition. Jesus said, “WHATSOEVER you ask in My Name, I WILL DO IT!” Ask Jesus, ask the Father in His Name. Why do people pray to Mary and the saints? Scripture says they are ‘asleep in Christ', waiting for the bodily Resurrection, when the dead whose names are written in the Book of Life shall rise first, and we who are alive shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air! Daniel 12:2; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17. But at this moment in time, Jesus alone is alive bodily in Heaven, the Firstfruits of the dead. 1 Corinthians 20. He alone is able to answer your prayer. Hebrews 7:25. It is a direct relationship with Jesus that you need – approach Him in absolute confidence for the answer! Your strong dynamic prayer will avail, it will work! That mountain in your life will move! Jesus said, “Have faith in God. For truly I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, be removed and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he says. Therefore I tell you, what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.” Mark 11:22-24. Be specific. Be strong. Pray with faith. God will answer you.
IF, you lack wisdom, THEN ask God! You will need wisdom from God as Their disciple on the face of this sin infested snake pit! That's the plain ol' truth! As Their disciple you will come to rely on God's wisdom, and by the power and work of God the Holy Spirit you will learn the significance of obedience, and have a life that does like Jesus. You as Their disciple are called to DO the will of the Father! And the GREATER works you will do will be for yourself in yourself, by yourself, amen?
