Can we actually trust the New Testament as historical evidence? In Week 3 of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ?, we examine the case from the ground up—starting with some of Christianity's earliest creedal traditions, which preserve testimony about Jesus that circulated before the New Testament books themselves were written. We then tackle the manuscript evidence, the famous claim of “400,000 textual variants,” and the accusation that the Gospels were originally anonymous. From there, we examine the internal and external evidence for Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, including manuscript attribution and testimony from early Christian writers such as Papias, Irenaeus, Clement, Tertullian, Origen, Eusebius, and others. The question isn't whether Christians simply believe the traditional authorship of the Gospels. The question is: What does the historical evidence actually say?
Is Jesus really just a copycat of pagan religions? In Week 4 of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ?, we put some of the most popular claims under the historical microscope—examining alleged parallels between Jesus and figures such as Mithras, Zoroaster, Buddha, Krishna, Horus, and Serapis. The problem? Many of the supposed similarities are exaggerated, taken out of context, unsupported by ancient sources, or come from traditions that post-date Christianity by centuries. This session is about more than saying, “That's false.” We go back to the sources, examine the dates, compare what the ancient traditions actually say, and ask the question every copycat claim must answer: Where is the evidence that Christianity borrowed it? Because Googling a claim isn't the same thing as researching it.The similarities sound impressive—until you check the receipts.
In Night Two of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ?, we examine Gnostic and archaeological sources that contribute to the historical case for Jesus of Nazareth. We explore writings such as the Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Truth, Apocryphon of John, Treatise on the Resurrection, Gospel of Peter, and Papyrus Egerton 2—asking what these noncanonical sources reveal about the historical memory of Jesus, his teachings, crucifixion, and resurrection claims. We also evaluate archaeological evidence connected to the New Testament world, including the Nazareth Inscription, the James Ossuary, and the Shroud of Turin. While these sources differ in reliability and interpretation, together they demonstrate that the debate in antiquity was not primarily about whether Jesus existed, but about who he was and what his life, death, and resurrection meant.Ultimately, the evidence brings us back to the most important question: “But you,” he asked them, “who do you say that I am?” — Matthew 16:15 CSBThanks for listening to the Greater Works Discipleship Ministries podcast. Before we can answer the theological question of whether Jesus is the Christ, we must first answer the historical question: Was Jesus a real person? In this opening session of Counterfeit, Copycat, or Christ, we begin laying the foundation by examining the evidence for Jesus through the lens of history—not simply faith. We explore why virtually every major religion and worldview has an opinion about Jesus, why His identity remains the most important question in history, and why Christianity invites investigation rather than blind belief. In this session we discuss:Why the question of Jesus matters to every worldviewHow historians investigate ancient figures through historiographyThe difference between historical and theological claimsThe criteria historians use to determine whether someone from antiquity actually existedWhy the historical existence of Jesus is accepted by the overwhelming majority of scholars—even many who are not Christians Coming Next Week:We will continue the investigation by examining:The Gnostic writings and why they are not considered reliable historical sourcesThe archaeological evidence surrounding Jesus and first-century JudeaAncient non-Christian sources that testify to Jesus' life and crucifixionWhy the cumulative historical evidence points to Jesus as a real historical personWhether you're a believer, skeptic, or simply curious, this series is designed to help you understand not only what Christians believe, but why they believe it, and how the historical evidence supports the case for Jesus. Our mission at Greater Works is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19) and the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37) through the intentional education, equipping, and empowering of healthy disciples of Jesus the Christ. THEME: REBUILDING THE WALLS OF REVIVAL. PSALM 78:4, NEHEMIAH 2:17-18SPEAKER: VERY REV. DANIEL N. GYAPANIRevival is not sustained by emotion alone, but by repentance, obedience, prayer, and unwavering devotion to God. In this episode, we explore what it means to rebuild the spiritual walls that have been broken and return to the foundations of a life that honors Christ. Join us as we study God's Word, grow together in faith, and discover practical ways to live for Christ in every season of life.
In this sermon, Pastor Rick teaches that building a lasting life requires continual spiritual progress, challenging believers to move beyond simply gaining control, discovering purpose, and bearing fruit by intentionally growing in their capacity, character, and kingdom impact. He reminds us that God never intended for us to settle or compare ourselves to others, but to keep becoming all He designed us to be through a life of ongoing development.

June 25 2026 Thursday Who Jesus Made You To Be / Week 32 Greater Works Than Christ #findoutwhoyouare My Vision My vision is to teach the world Who They Are In Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior! To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. And I'm determined to teach the world what God has taught and commissioned me to teach and that is His Word. That commission takes me to jails and detention centers weekly along with other open doors at many churches and ministries that are wanting to teach these important truths to the world. My podcast goes out 6 days a week to help the people I am ministering to grow in the truths that God has taught me for many years now. This podcast is free to all that want to listen and grow strong in who God has made them to be in Christ Jesus their Lord and Savior. My Prayers For The World Ephesians 1:15-23 NLT 'Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.' Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT 'When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Youar roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.' His letter to the Galations is a vigorous attack against the gospel of works and a defense of the gospel of faith. Paul begins by setting forth his credentials as an apostle with a message from God: blessing comes from God on the basis of faith, not law. The law declares men guilty and imprisons them; faith sets men free to enjoy liberty in Christ. But liberty is not license. In this episode we look one of the greatest and most important callings we've received as the people of God. We look at how Jesus calls us to do greater works. We look at what exactly this means for us and how we can go about accomplishing this mission. We look at the importance of surrendering to the Holy Spirit, putting our faith and trust in God and the importance of acting on the Word of God. As we walk in faith and strive to answer this calling, we'll be amazed at what the Lord does through us and how He allows the greater works we do to point the people around us towards Himself, drawing them unto Himself. Let's go out into the fields of harvest and do the greater works Jesus says we can do!
Sermon by David Rountree on 5/31/26 at New Covenant Church in Anderson, SC. Scripture Passage: John 14:12-17 Outline: What are the Greater Works? (v.12) Who are the Workers of Christ? (v.12) How are the Works to be Accomplished? 1. Prayer Power (v. 13-14): 2. Obedience Power (v. 15): 3. Holy Spirit Power (v. 16,17):
Is the Book of Enoch supposed to be in our Bible? And is the Ethiopian Bible really the oldest and most complete Bible in the world? In this teaching, we separate fact from internet fiction by looking at the Book of Enoch, its connection to Genesis 6 and Jude, why it is accepted in some Ethiopian traditions, and why most Christians do not recognize it as inspired Scripture. We also unpack the difference between the ancient Garima Gospels and the broader Ethiopian Orthodox canon so we can honor Ethiopian Christian history without repeating bad claims. The question isn't “Is Enoch interesting?” It is. The question is: “Is it Scripture?”Thanks for listening to the Greater Works Discipleship Ministries podcast. Can We Really Do Greater Works than Jesus?Apostolic Life in the 21st Century with Dr. David K. BernardIn John 14:12, Jesus made a remarkable promise: “He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do.” But what did He mean?Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, and demonstrated power over nature itself. How could believers possibly do “greater” works than these? In this episode, Dr. David K. Bernard provides clear, biblical insight into this passage. Rather than pointing to greater individual miracles, he explains how Jesus' words reveal the expanded scope of His work through the church—empowered by the Holy Spirit and fulfilled through the global spread of the gospel after Pentecost.Discover how this promise applies to believers today and what it reveals about the ongoing mission of the church.Visit PentecostalPublishing.com to shop Dr. Bernard's full catalog of published works. 233 233 - Greater Works Than Christ 3-22-26 by Mike Hurtgen
*Listen to the Show notes and podcast transcript with this multi-language player. Summary This conversation reveals that God is not primarily raising up individual spiritual heroes, but a corporate Body of believers functioning together as one living organism under Christ the Head. Through the many-membered Body, Christ receives His voice in the earth as believers speak and live the Word of God. A true word from God is creative, imparting the life and nature of God into those who receive it. As believers become cleansed and yielded vessels, they function as channels of that living Word. The vision presented is of a corporate people—an anointed family, a mighty army—each member placed by God and functioning in their unique role. Some speak the Word, others build, create, govern, serve, or perform practical works. Together they demonstrate the Kingdom of God on the earth. This corporate functioning fulfills Jesus' promise that greater works would be done, not by individuals alone but by a unified Body empowered by the Spirit of God. Show Notes 1. The Body of Christ Is Corporate, Not Individual God does not work through isolated individuals but through a many-membered Body. Believers help prepare and build one another through the living Word.Christ receives His voice through His people. The Holy Spirit speaks through yielded vessels. Key idea: God needs a people, not just a person. 2. God Places Each Member in the Body Every believer has a divinely appointed function. God sets members in the Body according to His will.No one appoints themselves or judges another's role. Each person fills a place designed by God. Realizing this brings humility and unity. 3. A Word From God Is Creative God's Word is not merely information—it creates spiritual reality. It is not aimed at intellect alone. It forms Christ within the believer. It carries the same creative power that formed the world. Receiving the Word requires openness, dedication, and purification. 4. God Is Raising a Body That Knows Him The Holy Spirit is emphasizing a corporate people who know God personally. Each member can hear from the Lord. Each member can speak a living word.Christ is expressed through the whole Body. This represents a new level of corporate awareness of Christ within. 5. Greater Works Through the Corporate Body Jesus' promise of greater works becomes possible through a unified Body. One person can accomplish much. Many functioning together can accomplish far more. The family of God releases multiplied authority. This reveals the potential power of the Body when aligned with Christ. 6. The Kingdom Requires Many Functions The Body includes far more than speakers or preachers. God raises up: CraftsmenBuildersWorkersCreatorsLeadersServants The Kingdom operates through anointed people doing God's work in every sphere of life. 7. The Body of Christ Is a Mighty Army The Body functions like an army with many roles. Not everyone is on the front line. Each function contributes to victory.God's power is revealed through the collective. The strength of the army comes from God working through His people together. Key Quotes Mike “God needs a people, not one person. Through this many-membered body He functions, and we give Christ His voice.” Ken “When you realize you're part of something greater than yourself, you begin to see the greater works Jesus promised.” Ron “When a word comes from God, it is God. It carries the same creative power He used to create the world.” Mike “Our prophecies and prayers will do more than any law passed by man.” Ron “The Kingdom is not just people speaking the Word. It's men and women who do God.” Ken “What we're really talking about is a mighty army.” Scriptural References The Body of Christ 1 Corinthians 12 (12–18)“For as the body is one and has many members…”Romans 12 (4–5)“So we, being many, are one body in Christ.” Members Placed by God 1 Corinthians 12 (18)“God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.” The Creative Power of the Word Genesis 1 (3)“Then God said, ‘Let there be light,' and there was light.”Isaiah 55 (11)“So shall My word be… it shall accomplish what I please.”Hebrews 4 (12)“The word of God is living and powerful.” Greater Works
Jesus once told His disciples that those who believe in Him would do the works He did and even “greater works.” For many Christians, that statement raises immediate questions. How could anyone do greater works than the Son of God who raised the dead and walked on water? In this episode of Kitchen Table Theology, Jeff and Tiffany walk through John 14:12 and unpack what Jesus meant during the Upper Room discourse. The “greater works” aren't about surpassing Christ. They're about the mission of Christ multiplying through His people as the gospel spreads, hearts are transformed, and the church carries the message of salvation to the world. What We Discussed02:45 The Context of John 14Jesus speaks these words during the Upper Room discourse, only hours before His arrest. His disciples are troubled, confused, and struggling to understand what His departure means.04:10 What Jesus Did Not MeanJesus wasn't promising that every believer would perform miracles that surpass His own. No one exceeds the authority or power of the Son of God.05:30 The Key Phrase in the PassageThe phrase “because I go to the Father” explains the meaning of the greater works. Jesus' ascension leads to the sending of the Holy Spirit and the expansion of the gospel mission.08:30 The Greatest Miracle of AllThe most profound miracle is not walking on water but the transformation of a human heart. Through the gospel, sinners are brought from spiritual death to life.10:30 The Role of Prayer in the MissionJesus connects the greater works to prayer in His name. The risen Christ continues to advance His mission as His people pray according to His will.12:00 Small Acts With Eternal ImpactFaithful witness, loving a neighbor, or sharing the gospel may seem ordinary. Yet these moments often lead to lasting spiritual transformation.14:30 Faithfulness Over FlashinessJesus does not call believers to outdo His miracles. He calls them to participate faithfully in His mission as the gospel spreads across the world.16:00 The Global Expansion of the GospelFrom a small group of disciples in Judea to billions of believers worldwide, the promise of John 14:12 has unfolded across centuries.“Greater works are not about surpassing Christ. They are about the risen Christ multiplying His mission through the faithful witness of His people.” – Jeff Cranston
Long before colonial powers ever touched African soil, African Christians were preaching, writing, translating, and theologizing in their own indigenous languages. From Ethiopia to Egypt, believers were preserving the Gospel within their own cultures — not adopting someone else's.In this conversation with Dr. Vince Bantu, we confront the myth that Christianity in Africa was merely imported or colonized. What we uncover instead is something deeper — a faith already planted, already flourishing, already African. Not secondhand. Not foreign. Rooted. Thanks for listening to the Greater Works Discipleship Ministries podcast. *Listen to the Show notes and podcast transcript with this multi-language player. Summary This message reveals that the “greater works” Jesus spoke of are not primarily outward signs and wonders, but the inward work of God forming His people into true oneness. Through the breaking of the human nature and the renewing of the mind and spirit, God is creating a people who can see with His eyes, love with His heart, and function together as a fully formed body in Christ. These greater works culminate in the completion of the Body of Christ—living, unified, and expressing God's heart toward all. Show Notes • The “greater works” include miracles, but go far beyond outward manifestations • Human personality, mindset, and effort cannot produce true unity • Oneness is a work of the Spirit, not agreement of opinions • God is forming a people who are not recognizable by natural or religious standards • Comparison and self-measurement hinder spiritual transformation • A broken spirit allows God to change us more quickly and deeply • The greatest sign is what happens inwardly before it manifests outwardly • Seeing with God's eyes removes contempt, prejudice, and judgment • Jesus consistently defied human ideas of worthiness • The ultimate greater work is the completion of the Body of Christ • Oneness reveals God's heart toward every person • God alone receives the glory—this work cannot be credited to human effort Key Quotes “You cannot bring people into one mind naturally, but in the Spirit, God brings us into oneness.” “The greatest sign you're going to see is the one that happens inside.” “God is creating something so new that it's

Discovering Greater Works: Prophesying Future ExploitsIn this episode of Discovering Truth with Dan Duval, Dan shares profound revelations from a recent season of fasting, pointing to a new era of “greater works” for believers, rooted in John 14:12. He explores the distinction between the natural and supernatural dimensions of God's Kingdom and unpacks the believer's role in walking in power, as described in Daniel 11:32. Dan also addresses the growing influence of antichrist systems in the present age while sharing prophetic visions and encounters, including revelations of transhuman armies and the unique evangelistic role Christians play in God's redemptive plan—extending even to the elemental realms. Drawing from biblical examples such as Moses' interaction with the earth, he emphasizes the expanding authority of the Church in land and elemental redemption. This episode carries a prophetic call, declaring that in the end times the earth itself will come to the aid of the Church. Dan challenges believers to broaden their focus beyond human salvation to include land and creation redemption, offering practical insights on how Christians can actively participate in this transformative work. Then we ENCOURAGE you to do 4 QUICK THINGS!!Sign up to be a podcast memberwww.danduval.comBe sure to check out and like our new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DiscoveringTruthNetworkSubscribe to the new podcast YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5nxloF2rt7-dXkjppGHdFAAND Subscribe to our Rumble Channel, where we will post all of our interviews that are TOO HOT for YouTube!DiscoveringTruthNetwork (rumble.com)

In this weeks podcast episode I discuss effective bible study techniques and methodologies that help us to read and understand the Bible in its proper historical, cultural, literary and linguistic context. Here are the Key Concepts we discussed.Biblical Interpretation and Context Discipleship: Emphasizes that learning is often more caught than taught, highlighting the importance of context in biblical preaching. Pericopes: Sections of Scripture read as lessons, derived from the Greek word meaning "section." Significant for understanding the oral tradition of Jesus' teachings before the gospels were written.Examples of Pericopes in the Gospels Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7): Illustrates core teachings of Jesus. Instructions for Ministers (Matthew 10:5-42): Guidance for ministry. Parables of the Kingdom (Matthew 13:1-52): Illustrates the nature of God's kingdom. The Bible's Purpose The Bible is not primarily about the individual; rather, it serves as God's self-revelation, showcasing His character and attributes. It is written "for" us but not directly "to" us.Communication StylesGod uses diverse genres to communicate: narrative history, poetry, laws, parables, and letters, ensuring effective transmission of His message across different human conditions.Basic Principles of Interpretation- God's Overall Plan: Spanning from creation to the consummation of redemption, demonstrating a cohesive narrative.Understanding Background: Employ the "Five W's" (Who, What, Where, When, Why) to grasp the context of biblical books. Exegesis and HermeneuticsExegesis: Analytical study of biblical texts for interpretation. Hermeneutics: The science of interpreting texts accurately, avoiding eisegesis (reading into the text personal biases).Importance of Context - Historical and cultural contexts are essential for accurate interpretation, ensuring that meanings align with the original audience's understanding.Linguistic Nuances Different meanings of terms like "flesh" in Scripture illustrate the complexity of biblical language and the need for careful interpretation. Thanks for listening to the Greater Works Discipleship Ministries broadcast. The root of our strength is within. The temptations of the world are growing and the pressure to join the migration into the digital cult increases daily. The answers are not found in the world, but in our quiet moments with God... to seek his face and hear his voice. We have to be willing to face our idols, our false worships, the fictions we have built our lives upon... to ultimately tear them down and let God lead in his glory. That place for many provokes fear as we are thrust into the unknown. Fear not. The Kingdom of God calls. #BardsFM_Morning #TheKingdomAmongstUs #GreaterWorks Bards Nation Health Store: www.bardsnationhealth.com EnviroKlenz Air Purification, promo code BARDS to save 10%: www.enviroklenz.com EMPShield protect your vehicles and home.
