Jesus told His disciples in John 4 that his food was the Will of the Father and to finish His work.  In Exodus 16, the Israelites were complaining to Moses because they were going to run out of food in the wilderness.  Today, are we living with a focus on the temporal or the natural?  Am I consumed with my own desires to be filled by me?  As followers of Jesus Christ we are expected to live with eyes focused on the eternal, eyes focused on our sustainer, Jesus Christ.  We have to be aware of what is driving us or motivating us in all things. In the wilderness God, through the work of His Holy Spirit, is bringing us into alignment with His Will and at the same time revealing Himself in such a way that we 'see' our identity IN Him. What do manna, Jesus as the Bread of Life, Sabbath Rest and our souls have in common? God shifts His instructions to the Israelites in Exodus 16:22-30 that not only tested their obedience but provided the opportunity for them to be set aside to rest with God. Jodi shares that rest is not only designed for our physical bodies, but for our souls as well. She explains that our rest in Jesus IS holy because He is holy. In Exodus 16:13-21 God invites the Israelites to recognize Him as their Provider and the One in whom they can depend. Dependence doesn't mean laziness, as children of God the expectation is and His desire is that we would cooperate with Him. Jodi walks through verses 4-12 of Exodus 16 and the Holy Spirit reveals how like the Israelites, when we are led into the wilderness, God will provide for us. Season 4 Episode 1 ~ Intimacy in the Wilderness ~ Laying the Foundation In episode 1, Jodi begins to lay the foundation of season 4 by focusing on the words intimacy and wilderness. The soul...how is it connected to knowing God? Proverbs 4:20-27 reveals the connection of our ears, eyes, mouth, heart, mind, and feet to moving forward or Jodi likes to say 'being' with God. The mind....what does God's Word show us about the mind, what worldly perceptions have we taken as truths, and how can we destroy the strongholds that hinder us from dwelling in His presence? Charles (Chuck) Stecker, an author and founder/executive director of A Chosen Generation, joins Jodi to discuss his metaphor of how he sees our calling. He parallels the platform to which our purpose will sit or stand on as a 3-legged stool; our calling, our gifting(s), and the anointing. Sometimes one doesn't recognize God's divine purposes during a difficult season. As an individual moves through life and various other seasons God ordains, sometimes years later one is able to recognize the significance of a difficult season.
