An unlikely ally steps in to help the team. 6x20: "Kara" THE EPIC SERIES FINALE BRINGS BACK FAMILIAR FACES AND FEATURES A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING – In the epic series finale, Supergirl is joined by familiar faces from the past to help her stop Lex and Nyxly for good. Meanwhile, Alex and Kelly prepare to walk down the aisle. Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan and Chris Wood return for the series finale.

Frank & Tim's penultimate podcast centers on Lex & Nyxly joining forces, William's sacrifice, Alex & Kara struggling with boundaries, and Brainy's dillemma. THREE EPISODES LEFT UNTIL THE SERIES FINALE – Supergirl is determined to keep everyone safe from Lex and Nyxly so she doubles down on patrol, especially as Alex and Kelly's bachelorette party is coming up. Alex is torn between duty and finally allowing herself the time to enjoy her new family. Brainy receives heartbreaking news, and William clashes with Andrea over her recent coverage of Lex.

Tim and Frank cover one of the stronger episodes of the season, including the return of Lex and a big proposal. LEX RETURNS – When Lex Luthor appears by Nyxly's side, Supergirl and team must deal with the emotional fallout of facing their two biggest foes at the same time. Alex makes plans for the perfect proposal to Kelly, but work keeps getting in the way.

Tim and Frank discuss Kara's struggles with balance, and Nia confronting her sister Maeve. Kara lands her dream story for Catco but when the city is suddenly attacked by a nightmare monster at the same time as her interview, she is forced to take a serious look at her life and decide if she can continue to live as both Kara and Supergirl. As Dreamer takes the lead on the search for the Dream Totem, which can vanquish they nightmare monster in National City, she realizes she needs to ask her sister Maeve for help. Old wounds resurface as the two sisters come face to face.

Frank and Tim are back together again to discuss the Totems, Esme, and Frank's trip to Vancouver. NYXLY KIDNAPS WILLIAM – Supergirl continues to fight Nyxly for the remaining totems but after Nyxly kidnaps William, Supergirl realizes she needs to take a more proactive stance to keep National City safe. Meanwhile, Alex faces the biggest challenge of her life.

Tim is joined by friend of the show Brent from Marvel Alliance and Fans Without Borders to break down the continuation of the Totems Saga. LENA MUST ACCEPT HER NEWFOUND POWERS IN ORDER TO HELP THE SUPER FRIENDS – Lena is uncertain about using her magical abilities to help Supergirl retrieve the second totem from Nyxly. William struggles to write a story on the Super Friends that makes both the heroes and Andrea happy. Meanwhile, Kelly is thrilled Esme has found a new home, but things go awry and the little girl's future is put in danger. Special Guest: Brent Clark.

Tim's back! He and Frank break down the battle for the Courage totem, slings vs. slingshots, Lena embracing magic, and more. SUPERGIRL MUST PASS THE TEST OF COURAGE – Supergirl and team race Nyxly for control of a magical totem that controls courage. Supergirl and Nyxly battle and each get a piece of the totem but learn the first person to pass the test of courage will gain control of the entire thing. Meanwhile, Lena is still struggling to make sense of her newfound gift.

Tim is on parental leave! Frank is joined by friend of the show Brent to recap one of Supergirl's most poignant episodes ever. Kelly is horrified when the Ormfell building implodes, injuring many in the community, including Joey . However, her horror quickly turns to frustration when she realizes that the hospital is overwhelmed, people are getting sicker, and no one is coming to help – including Supergirl who is busy fighting Nyxly. Knowing that she can make a difference, Kelly embraces her power and fully steps into her role as Guardian. Joined by Supergirl, Alex, Diggle and team, Guardian leads the way to restoring justice to the fallen community. Special Guest: Brent Clark.

Frank and Tim discuss the return of Tom Lennon as Mxyzptlk and Lena's journey to uncover the mysteries of her mother's past. THOMAS LENNON RETURNS AS MR. MXYZPTLK – Supergirl and team must stop Nyxly from vanquishing a familiar face from Supergirl's past – Mr. Mxyzptlk. Mxy returns and explains Nyxly's dark history to the super team in the best way he knows how – in song form. Meanwhile, Lena visits her mother's birthplace in Newfoundland, eager to dig into her past but is shocked by the small town's icy reception towards her.

Tim and Frank break down Supergirl advocating for the formerly incarcerated, the return of Nia's mom, and Nyxly's big gamble. NIA SPENDS TIME WITH HER MOM – Supergirl intervenes when a building in the Heights that was set aside for low income housing is suddenly at risk to be sold to a major corporation. Supergirl recruits Orlando to help her win over the city, but things go awry when Nyxly shows up. Meanwhile, Nia trains with her mother.

Tim and Frank break down "Dream Weaver" and its important messages about systemic racism, for-profit prisons, and the foster care system, as well as major new developments for Kelly and Nia. SUPERGIRL AND KELLY TEAM UP – Kelly meets Joey, a young orphaned alien boy, who is acting out in foster care because he fears there is something wrong with his brother Orlando, who is incarcerated. Kelly asks Kara to help her investigate and they stumble upon abuse at the prison. Meanwhile, Nyxly crashes one of Nia's (Nicole Maines) dreams and asks her for help.

Frank and Tim return to discuss Kara's return, Andrea Rojas's tactics, and a sorry excuse for a Roomba. SUPER FRIENDS REUNITED! – As Supergirl and Zor-El make their return to National City, they are determined to keep the Phantom Zone behind them and enjoy being superheroes together. Unfortunately, their overzealous efforts backfire, creating a whole new threat to National City.

Tim and Frank recap the "nightmarish" mid-season finale Fear Knot. See you in August for the conclusion of the final season! As the Super Friends brave the Phantom Zone to bring Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) home, each member of the team is confronted by visions of their worst fear.

CHYLER LEIGH MAKES HER DIRECTORIAL DEBUT – Part two of the flashback episodes pick up where things left off – Young Kara (guest star Izabela Vidovic) experiences kryptonite for the first time, Nia (Nicole Maines) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) are trapped by invading aliens, and a young Cat Grant (guest star Eliza Helm) may be the reason Supergirl never gets out of the Phantom Zone. Chyler Leigh directed the episode written by Rob Wright & Jess Kardos (#606).

Tim and Frank break down Brainy & Nia's time travel, the Danvers sisters in high school, Cat Grant in Midvale, and so much more. THE FLASHBACK TO MIDVALE INTRODUCES A YOUNG CAT GRANT – Nia (Nicole Maines) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) attempt to save Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) from the Phantom Zone by time traveling back to Kara’s home in 2009. While determined to secure the item needed to help Supergirl, Brainy is worried about keeping a low profile so as not to alter the future timeline. However, when their ship crashes upon arrival, a young Kara Danvers (guest star Izabela Vidovic) is the first on the scene. Meanwhile, a young reporter named Cat Grant (guest star Eliza Helm) sets her sights on Midvale as she suspects there is a big story in the small town. Alexandra LaRoche directed the episode written by Rob Wright & Jess Kardos (#605).

Frank and Tim recap Alex's tough decision, Supergirl's sacrifice, Nxly's betrayal, and Brainy eating his feelings in 6x04 "Lost Souls". SUPERGIRL FINDS A WAY HOME – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) finds an opportunity to escape from the Phantom Zone but it comes with some dangerous strings attached. Meanwhile, Lena (Katie McGrath) joins the Super Friends on a mission but finds she disagrees with their plan of action against the Phantoms and wonders if she is truly ready to be a part of the team. Alysse Leite-Rogers directed the episode written by Karen E. Maser & Nicki Holcomb (#604).

Tim and Frank chat about the collateral damage from Lena and Lex's rivalry, J'onn being a good soldier, Brainy's struggle with his anger, and Kelly being Alex's rock as they recap 6x03 "Phantom Menaces". BATTLE OF WITS – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) makes a new ally. Lena (Katie McGrath) and Lex (guest star Jon Cryer) battle for control of Luthor Corp. SEASON PREMIERE – As Brainiac (Jesse Rath) lays close to death after trying to stop Lex (Jon Cryer), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and team soar in to save him, engaging in an epic battle with Gamenmae (guest star Cara Buono). After beating Leviathan, Supergirl turns her attention to Lex who has used the Obsidian platform to brainwash half the world to love him and follow him at all costs, no matter what horrible things he does. Knowing how dangerous this makes her brother, Lena (Katie McGrath) enlists the entire team – Alex (Chyler Leigh), J’onn (David Harewood), Dreamer (Nicole Maines), Kelly (Azie Tesfai) and Brainiac – to help, but Supergirl realizes that the only way to truly stop Lex is to sacrifice herself. Check out Chari's email: HeavyMailBag Hey guys, First off, I want to thank you guys for the amazing podcast you bring every week. I just started listening to S5 E5 podcast and got to the point where ya'll said the mail bag was light. So I thought I would send in my theory for where I think Crisis is leading the DCCWverse. Lol We are already loosing Arrow and I'm sure the other shows can make it a few more years, but they will eventually have to come to an end too. It's already been announced that they are going to be doing a Canary/Arrow 2040 spin off. But I'm sure the writers and producers ideas will not stop with with that. With DC being more and more willing to allow their characters to appear in live action on the small screen, I don't see the Arrowverse going anywhere for a LONG time. So below I layout what I think could happen: Instead of the inevitable killing off of all these shows, why wouldn't they use them to spawn new shows in their place when the time comes. Kinda like what they are doing with Arrow and the Canaries. Have them slowly working them in.. We could start with Crisis killing off Arrow, but have the "Canaries/Arrow 2040" to take it's place. Eventually leading to the Star City 2049 that we've already seen. I'm assuming that in Crisis, Earths will merge and we will get Supergirl (and maybe even Black Lightning) on Earth 1. We could have one or two more seasons of present day Supergirl and then start a new series of her in the 31st Century following her actions as part of the Legion (along with Brainy, Mon-El, Winn, Dreamer & Jon). Flash would then "flash forward" to 2040 as well and we would have "Flash 2040" with all aged up characters, their kids, Bart Allen, and the origin of Thawn. Then there is the new Batwoman show. So far it's been a bit of a rocky start, but there have only been few episodes so I'm sure it will get better. I see us getting a few seasons of this show, maybe 3-5, to introduce us to her, her team, and Gotham. But where would this show inevitably lead to? The future NeoGotham spin off and the first live action Batman Beyond.... If Crisis doesn't introduce us to him first.... Now Legends on the other hand is a completely different beast that can exist in any time. Were Canaries/Arrow 2040 would be the foundation of these future shows. Legends would be the glue. Weaving in and out of all the shows and sharing episodes with them all. Still trying to keep time in order. I would hate to see this happen but, I could even see this show being dissolved and the cast becoming "guest stars" on the other ones throughout the seasons. Black Lightning is now into its 3rd season. Although I absolutely love this show and what it brings. I don't see it lasting more than 5 seasons as we see it now. I predict that this show will be brought into the future too, but only under a different name as "Static 2040", with the Pierce family making appearances or even being main cast members, as part of his team. Season 4 & 5 of Black Lighting could be Virgil meeting Jefferson and him being taken under his wing. Or who knows, Virgil might be a meta on Earth 1 that Black Lightning will meet during Crisis... With these time jumps in all of these shows it would still be possible for the major crossovers, that we have come to know and love every year, to still happen. So there would be no worry on that part. The Crisis could be the start of the new generation of shows and we are so enamored with it that we haven't slowed down enough to realize/think what is/will/could be happening in the near future.
