Hace poco más de un año la escaladora ecuatoriana Andrea Rojas sufrió un resbalón en los Juegos Panamericanos que le costó prácticamente la clasificación para París 2024. Después de unos meses muy duros en los que se planteó retirarse, ha vuelto a sonreir tras proclamarse campeona en los Panamericanos de Escalada, en categoría de velocidad.  La escaladora ecuatoriana Andrea Rojas recupera la sonrisa. Hace poco más de un año entrevistábamos en RFI después de que un resbalón en los Juegos Panamericanos le costó en aquel momento prácticamente la clasificación para los Juegos Olímpicos de París. Rojas pasó un mal momento, pero ahora ha tenido su particular revancha tras proclamarse campeona en los Panamericanos de Escalada en velocidad.  Manu Terradillos, RFI: Eres campeona Panamericana de escalada en velocidad. He leído que decías que es un sueño hecho realidad, un sueño de más de 10 años. ¿Cómo te sientes después de lograr esta victoria? Andrea Rojas: La verdad es que ha sido el sueño de toda mi carrera. Tantos años de trabajar duro para este sueño. Como dos veces quedé segunda, otras tres veces quedé tercera, siempre súper cerca de ganar y nunca lo había logrado.  Fue superespecial para mí poder ganar en el mismo lugar de los Juegos Panamericanos del año pasado, que fue un momento superduro de mi carrera y siento que esto fue como una segunda oportunidad y una revancha después de lo que pasó el año pasado. RFI: Decía al presentarte que estarías sonriendo mucho más que la última ocasión en la que te entrevistamos por eso, porque cuando tuvimos la oportunidad de entrevistarte hace algo más de un año, no te habías quedado fuera de los Juegos Olímpicos del todo, pero casi. El hecho de haber logrado este campeonato Panamericano, es una alegría. ¿Te ayuda a olvidar, hace que lo puedas olvidar? Andrea Rojas: No, todavía recuerdo ese momento con dolor y creo que todavía va a requerir de un poco de tiempo el aceptar que no pude clasificar a las Olimpiadas, pero digamos que es algo muy bueno.  Han sido dos años superduros, este año fue superduro. Después del Panamericano fue mentalmente una lucha constante entre altos y bajos. Hubo muchos momentos en los que quería retirarme y dejar de competir y simplemente seguir creyendo que podía algún momento llegar mi día. Imagino que este título te da ganas para seguir adelante. ¿Ahora cuál es el objetivo? ¿Piensas, por ejemplo, en los juegos de Los Ángeles? ¿Tienes algún objetivo intermedio? Andrea Rojas: Por ahora prefiero pensar paso a paso. Por ahora me concentraré en el siguiente año. Mi objetivo para el próximo año es el mundial de escalada, que va a ser en Seúl, Corea, en el mes de septiembre. Así que tengo bastante tiempo, ahora necesito también descansar un poco. Ha sido un ciclo olímpico superlargo y lleno de muchas competencias.  Siento que necesito bajarle un poco al ritmo y encontrar un balance entre mis entrenamientos, mis competencias, mis viajes y también mi vida aquí en Europa. Este año quiero concentrarme en encontrar ese balance y poder seguir mejorando.  Creo que un punto que aprendí muchísimo este año es que tengo que hacer las cosas que siento que sean mejores para mí en cada momento y este año siento que lo mejor que puedo hacer es encontrar ciertas cosas que puedo hacer también al más allá de entrenar.

My guest is a Columbian American who grew up in New York City and shares how being abused as a child set her on a path of shame and later sex addiction. She suffered years of mental and physical abuse at the hands of her husband and lived a very isolated life away from family and friends as he controlled every aspect of her life. There was a part of her that believed she could change him. Then one night he beat her so bad she thought he would kill her. The next morning he told her it would be best to get a divorce and he went to local cafe with their daughter to wait for her. When Andrea arrived at the cafe her husband and daughter were nowhere to be found. In that moment she feared she would never see her daughter again. But God intervened as he used the New York Police Department to help bring her daughter back safe and sound. As he was hauled away in handcuffs and taken to jail she knew this was her only chance to leave him. With the help from her family and $50 dollars to her name she left NY to start a new life in Florida.  Today Andrea and her daughter are thriving and finally living a life of freedom. She is on a mission to help other woman overcome domestic abuse by telling her story. She also partners with incredible organizations around the world to bring awareness and hope to victims of sexual and physical abuse. Supergirl and her team have faced a lot of turmoil recently. Not the least of which was a crisis of epic proportion. The process of bringing numerous Earth’s together left Supergirl and her friends on Earth Prime. I fear the cosmic shift will lead to many yet unforeseen problems. Lex Luthor has manipulated his way to the center of it all, crowning himself the Paragon of Truth. Many crazy events have transpired. Perhaps this butterfly should start at the beginning. Lena sold Catco to Andrea Rojas who is eager to turn it in to a tabloid newspaper. Why should she report real news when her main financial endeavor is on the next floor down at Obsidian North? People are encouraged to let go of reality and live in the virtual world her company has created. Lena uses the money earned from the sale of the magazine to fund her Non Nocere initiative. Her goal is to create a society of people that no longer wish to harm one another. These two college friends are on different paths. One wants to entice people into a fake manufactured world. The other wants to make the real world a better place. One of the best things about season five is the end of Lena being on the outside of our super friends group. We spent far too long in previous seasons wondering when she would learn the truth. We all said being the genius she is Lena probably knew for a long time. Regardless it was important for Kara to say it out loud to someone she calls her closest friend. Nia and Brainy were a joy this season and my hope is that they can come back together again. I hope Dreamer has not come too late and she is able to save Brainy whose life was in grave danger. Brainy bottled the gods of Leviathan at great personal cost. Then Lex took the bottle. Who knows what he will choose to do with it. Lillian has returned to National City to work with her son. One never knows what devious plans they might orchestrate. We never met the Ancient One whose power seemed to be something that should be revered. Lex was given a second chance at life but I fear he thinks he can outsmart a god. He is just a fool who is biting off more then he can chew. The true Paragon of this story is Kara Zor El. She lost one world and will not lose another. Her hope inspires us all to be super in our own ways. Re-engage with reality and join with Lena to make the real world a better place. Supergirl with her sister and her team by her side will survive whatever chaos ridden nightmare might come next. She will succeed she is our Maid of Steel.

On this weeks CW's SUPERGIRL - SEASON 5 - EPISODE 16 - ALEX IN WONDERLAND - Alex learns her father has died, again. Alex and her father have had their ups and downs in the past, especially in regards to the special treatment he gave Kara and the responsibilities he gave Alex. Alex is having such a hard time dealing with the reality of the loss of her father she runs to the virtual reality of Obsidian Platinum. She enters the world and the foreshadowed Supergirl Alex Icon comes into play as she enters the VR world as Supergirl. A lot of Ready Player One role play in which VR reality becomes the person you want to be. Enter the Inception aspect when Alex is unable to realize the VR world is only virtual and not actual. William, the ever journalist, is trying to find Lex Luthor's real deal with Obsidian Platinum. He goes to Kelly, who was giving Alex space realizes the bug that makes users unable to get out may still be real. The start to unravel what may be the next storyline regarding Lex Luthor's real agenda with Obsidian Platinum. We wonder if Andrea Rojas is in on the whole thing, however she seems not to be as she is just as concerned as Kelly. We end with the mystery of the EMT Nurse and the hidden users as they phase out of our reality and enter what can be the new one. With the launch of Obsidian North’s next generation of VR you will be able to see, taste, and touch your wildest dreams. The important thing is to not forget the real world around you. Losing touch with reality can have actual inescapable consequences. Alex has moved from being under Lex Luthor’s control. Her sister Kara is not as lucky. Lex wants to break into Leviathan’s inner circle. He believes the key to doing that is to protect their latest asset Andrea Rojas and therefore Supergirl is assigned to be her bodyguard. Meanwhile animal trials have completed in the non nocere project. Even the most aggressive animals are rendered docile and friendly. Lex had promised to help Lena with the project and he has really come through. He arranged human subjects at the local prison to take non nocere to the next level. While there we see Steve again. He praises Lena as a hero for taking the violent tendencies out of his fellow inmates. Lena’s project only targets one region of the brain. The unforeseen consequence is Steve, usually a docile man, gets caught up in the grip of fear and revenge. Since Supergirl is on assignment guarding Andrea she asks J’onn and Alex to investigate the alien that attacked her. This leads them to the alien bar that gives us leads in so many of the refugees causing trouble in National City. Due to purple lightning at the scene of Andrea’s attack the prime suspect must be a Chlorophyllian. That is confusing to J’onn because he says that race is usually very peaceful. Upon further investigation Alex finds a box containing an Obsidian employee badge and a suicide note. This is definitely a break in the case. Alex is struggling on her first day outside the DEO. It is the first time she doesn’t have a whole team behind her and it is leaving her feeling vulnerable. Alex feels helpless when the gauntlet wielding Chlorophyllian steals J’onn’s power and lights the building on fire. Supergirl leaves Andrea in Brainy’s custody at the DEO as she rushes to blow out the fire. Ms. Rojas gets so aggravated that Brainy won’t let her out of the cell to help override the fail safe. In this reality Andrea is just a CEO not Acrata a Leviathan agent that can move through the shadows. Somehow in this moment Andrea’s shadow powers are activated. Was extreme stress able to bring this ability on? The only thing I know for sure is that National City is going to descend into darkness when all the transformers blow and Lex Luthor is not answering his texts. Alex, J’onn and Kara assemble all the clues. The note they found was addressed to my darling Amy. It is becoming clear that this is a case of revenge. Amy’s husband became addicted to Obsidian’s virtual reality lenses and then took his own life when the company fired him. Supergirl rushes to Obsidian headquarters to avert disaster. Amy steals Supergirl’s powers but she is still a hero. Sometimes people just want to be seen and heard here in the real world. That is exactly how Supergirl is a hero in this moment. She makes Amy see reason. Helps her understand that she doesn’t want to hurt innocent people. Revenge is motivating her. She doesn’t want to do harm. All of our super friends here in National City showed that there are different ways to be a hero. Brainy has learned from the Big Brain that he must keep working for Lex for the greater good. Unfortunately he is getting increasingly worried that it will cost him all his friends. Will Lex get what he wants from Gemma and Leviathan? We will have to tune in next week and see. Never fear! On this weeks CW's SUPERGIRL - SEASON 5 - EPISODE 14 - THE BODYGUARD we see Project Non Nocere seems to be in full effect as Lena has clearly decided to not take Kara up on her offer of friendship after putting it all out on the table and pouring out her heart. Lena may need to go ahead and figure it out sooner rather than later. Lena is becoming more like Lex every day as they have a heart to heart and we can not tell who is the bad guy and who has the good intentions. Brainy is having a hard time too as being on the dark side seems not to suit him and his peace fo mind so well. Great call backs this week as Steve, Lex's cell block mate, is back and full of vengeance. Arcata is on her way back as well as Andrea Rojas seems to be reviving her powers which we all thought had been forgotten, at least as a story line. Kara and William call back dating and it seems the forced is inevitable as the two enter the beginnings of a relationship. All this & more. Stay tuned. Rama Khan is a god.  He orchestrated some of the most enormous tragedies in history. Noah’s flood, the volcano in Pompeii, even the demise of the dinosaurs can all be traced back to him. Now he wants to cleanse the World. Take out mankind for the crime of existing. In his eyes humans are simply abusing the Earth and squandering it’s resources.  The council is not happy with Rama Khan’s recent performance. Perhaps they will put someone else in charge. Will the next Elder in charge condemn Earth 38 to a worse fate? Lena Luthor also wants to change the World.  She doesn’t have dreams of fire and destruction. Her plan is one where the whole World will bend to her will. She calls it Operation Non Nocere “ Do no Harm “.  Lena is going to exploit Malefic’s powers and Kara’s trust to mind control the entire population! Supergirl is not willing to give up hope that Lena can be saved and put back on the right path. Kara pleads with Lena to not allow her mistake to plunge Lena down a path of darkness.  The director of the DEO can’t let emotions make her decisions now.  Love has left Alex somewhat distracted in the past few weeks. Her sister is too emotionally entangled in this situation.  It is Alex who must look at the Myriad situation objectively. Brainy is by her side running a series of probabilities but in the end it is Alex’s decision. Can she trust that Malefic is strong enough to defeat the mind control Q waves?  Is Malefic sincere in wanting to help them in penance for his past deeds? Is Kara right? Can Lena be saved or must she pay for her decisions with her life? Andrea Rojas wants to stop working for Leviathan. Something tells me this is not the sort of job you can walk away from.  Rama Khan needs the power on Acrata to power the shadow staff. He wants to use his Earth moving power to awaken a sleeping giant residing under National City. There is a Supervolcano right under their feet. Supergirl must get to the tar pits fast before there is an explosion that by Brainy’s calculations will be 10,000 times bigger than Pompeii! Malefic kept his word and helped the DEO neutralize Myriad without the use of the Claymore satellite.  When they went to the base to arrest Lena Hope said it was all her fault. Was this part of Lena’s plan all along?  Did she develop this program and integrate it into Eve’s body so that she would have someone to assume responsibility and keep herself out of jail? J’onn gave Alex some great advice in this episode. People are going to make mistakes. You have to give them a chance to do better. Give them the opportunity to step back into the light. I am so glad that Supergirl is a Hero that never loses hope. We are going to need that in the crisis to come. I will keep my eye to the sky. We are going to need all of our super friends. The consequences of the coming crisis could be infinite!

Check out Chari's email: HeavyMailBag Hey guys, First off, I want to thank you guys for the amazing podcast you bring every week. I just started listening to S5 E5 podcast and got to the point where ya'll said the mail bag was light. So I thought I would send in my theory for where I think Crisis is leading the DCCWverse. Lol We are already loosing Arrow and I'm sure the other shows can make it a few more years, but they will eventually have to come to an end too. It's already been announced that they are going to be doing a Canary/Arrow 2040 spin off. But I'm sure the writers and producers ideas will not stop with with that. With DC being more and more willing to allow their characters to appear in live action on the small screen, I don't see the Arrowverse going anywhere for a LONG time. So below I layout what I think could happen: Instead of the inevitable killing off of all these shows, why wouldn't they use them to spawn new shows in their place when the time comes. Kinda like what they are doing with Arrow and the Canaries. Have them slowly working them in.. We could start with Crisis killing off Arrow, but have the "Canaries/Arrow 2040" to take it's place. Eventually leading to the Star City 2049 that we've already seen. I'm assuming that in Crisis, Earths will merge and we will get Supergirl (and maybe even Black Lightning) on Earth 1. We could have one or two more seasons of present day Supergirl and then start a new series of her in the 31st Century following her actions as part of the Legion (along with Brainy, Mon-El, Winn, Dreamer & Jon). Flash would then "flash forward" to 2040 as well and we would have "Flash 2040" with all aged up characters, their kids, Bart Allen, and the origin of Thawn. Then there is the new Batwoman show. So far it's been a bit of a rocky start, but there have only been few episodes so I'm sure it will get better. I see us getting a few seasons of this show, maybe 3-5, to introduce us to her, her team, and Gotham. But where would this show inevitably lead to? The future NeoGotham spin off and the first live action Batman Beyond.... If Crisis doesn't introduce us to him first.... Now Legends on the other hand is a completely different beast that can exist in any time. Were Canaries/Arrow 2040 would be the foundation of these future shows. Legends would be the glue. Weaving in and out of all the shows and sharing episodes with them all. Still trying to keep time in order. I would hate to see this happen but, I could even see this show being dissolved and the cast becoming "guest stars" on the other ones throughout the seasons. Black Lightning is now into its 3rd season. Although I absolutely love this show and what it brings. I don't see it lasting more than 5 seasons as we see it now. I predict that this show will be brought into the future too, but only under a different name as "Static 2040", with the Pierce family making appearances or even being main cast members, as part of his team. Season 4 & 5 of Black Lighting could be Virgil meeting Jefferson and him being taken under his wing. Or who knows, Virgil might be a meta on Earth 1 that Black Lightning will meet during Crisis... With these time jumps in all of these shows it would still be possible for the major crossovers, that we have come to know and love every year, to still happen. So there would be no worry on that part. The Crisis could be the start of the new generation of shows and we are so enamored with it that we haven't slowed down enough to realize/think what is/will/could be happening in the near future. We have learned that here in National City seeing can be deceiving. Losing your grip on reality can be dangerous. What if someone takes control of your virtual world? What if someone turns your dream into a nightmare? William is still tirelessly investigating Andrea. Kara wants to help. He is very resistant. This is a dangerous business and he is afraid to get Kara wrapped up in it. He doesn’t realize the Girl of Steel can handle herself. Strength alone will not save her. They are not dealing with just physical harm here. William speaks of the emotional and personal cost he has had to pay to chase down this story. William’s best friend Russ is gone and Andrea Rojas has something to do with it. Together William and Kara will get to the bottom of this story. Alex is interrogating Breath Taker with the help of a truth seeker. Unfortunately answers are not forthcoming. It seems these Villains are accomplishing task without knowing the details of who they are working for. Brainy comes up with a plan to interrogate the mysterious Villain from two weeks passed. This leads to more proof that we are dealing with pawns in a bigger game. Lena is making more progress in her lab with Malefic. She promises that she will remove the mind block that protects J’onn from his wrath. All he has to do is incept creatures with a growing level of difficulty. Malefic passes the test subduing an aggressive lizard turning it into a docile reptile. Now he wants his reward. He must be blinded with the anger he feels for J’onn. Lena’s mission is to do no harm. She will not remove the mind block so that harm can be done. The launch of the contact lenses appears to be going smoothly but in the real world the DEO is tracking a problem. There has been a break in at one of Lex’s storage facilities. The thief has been identified as Rip Roar. A man who’s super suit gives him two additional long arms. Brainy says the marathon laser was stolen. This coupled with the pilfered particle amplifier can hit a target twenty six miles away and produce heat that is one hundred times hotter than the Sun. Kara must suspend her investigation with William and go check in with Alex. They are also using the private investigation skills of J’onn J'onzz. What he uncovers is truly unexpected. When Kara confronts Rip Roar she is hit by the powerful laser. Supergirl is down but don’t count it as a win for the bad guys yet. Kara calls for backup and they fly off to Antarctica. Rip Roar has his eye on Lake Vostok and the Polar Ice Caps. He uses the laser to punch a hole in the ice. The resulting geyser causes a seismic shift. Supergirl radios Alex to let her know that the rest of the team must go to the waterfront. The melting ice and gushing water has the potential to cause flooding of biblical proportions. The residents of National City are blissfully unaware of the danger that surrounds them. Alex is definitely in grave danger of many things including missing her date anniversary as she rushes to save innocent people lost in a dream. Back in Antarctica J’onn and Kara fly in formation to create a whirlpool to draw the water down and keep it from spilling out and flooding the Earth. Back in National City Dreamer is fully awake and battling a tidal wave with her dream powers. Let’s hear it for the Superfriends. Another crisis has been averted but so much more of this story is left to be untangled. One question is answered. Rip Roar is William’s long lost friend Russ. His mission was to flood the planet starting with the West Coast. Andrea wouldn’t want that. The factories that produce her contact lenses are there. She would never make a decision that would jeopardize her own company. The mysterious woman who informed us that Leviathan is everywhere is impressed with Mrs. Rojas. What will Leviathan ask of her? What is this dangerous liaison? Join us next week for another adventure. Rest assured that our team can handle any crisis this world throws their way.

What do you know about the people you spend your day with? Do you know what would make them exclaim “This Is the best day ever!”? All these little facts about you are the building blocks that construct the person that you are. What if someone tried to manipulate those core elements of your personality? What if you were erased? Now you are a blank slate. You are as pure as the moment you were born, but now you are at the mercy of the person punching the keys. It is them that will dictate how you act now. They dictate what will happen next. Lena has the best of intentions. She wants to build a do no harm protocol. That sounds really great. People would no longer cause chaos or destruction to themselves or their community. It would certainly make the jobs of the Police, the Military and Superheroes easier. What about free will? Lena thinks she can solve the City’s problems by wiping the slate clean. She has used some of Andrea’s Obsidian North technology to accomplish this goal. I fear that someone else will manipulate Lena’s invention to mind control the citizens of National City. On the way to work Kara and Alex stop by J’onn’s to bring him coffee. They find him crumpled on the floor in terrible pain. He tells them that he was confronted by a brother he doesn’t even remember. The unknown Martian must be telling the truth because J’onn’s symptoms are consistent with a curse. The curse a Martian must suffer if they raise a hand against their brother. Long ago there was a Martian Civil War. The council banished J’onn’s brother Malefic to the Phantom Zone. His crime was helping the White Martians fight against his own people. J’onn’s memory was modified leaving no recollection of having a brother. The search is on for two Martians loose in the City. As a result of the curse both J’onn and Malefic are crippled with pain. Kelly’s Q wave treatment cured both brothers or their ailment. This leaves Malefic and his White Martian minion free to cause mayhem. Kara is having a tough day at work. Andrea Rojas wants to knock her Pulitzer Prize winning reporter down a few pegs. She assigns her a fashion story despite Kara having the lead on a Senate candidate. It is definitely hard to be a Superhero with a new boss giving you many deadlines to keep. Ms. Rojas doesn’t know about the Martians in the sewer. Lena is confronted by Andrea about purposely dismantling her technology. Ms. Rojas repossesses the contact lenses. What she doesn’t understand is that she is too late. Lena has already learned what she needed from the Obsidian North technology. Lena also had some help. Eve pledged her loyalty to Lena. Ms. Luthor is very wary of human friendships and wants to rely on technology alone. I don’t believe Eve understands the price she will pay to stand by Lena’s side. Lena seeks to use Eve as a host for her virtual assistant Hope. What will this do to Eve’s mind? Will there be anything left of Ms. Tessmacher when Hope has achieved her mission? What is Malefic’s next move? We will just have to tune in next time and find out. Until then this is your eye in the sky Green Butterfly wishing you all a super week.

Technology helps us every day. I am using it right now to communicate with you. When will it go too far? Are we losing our connection with reality? Will we soon reach an event horizon? How much further can we push before we reach the point of no return? Telling the truth is hard. Kara lied about her identity to her best friend. She kept making excuses for putting off telling Lena the truth. She had good reasons to justify it to herself. The consequence of waiting is that someone else may reveal the truth for you. Kara delayed so long that Lena heard the truth from Lex. Leave it to the Villian to reveal secrets and stir up trouble. A distress call from the Museum interrupted Kara and Lena’s lunch. The truth will have to wait again. There is an unknown entity in National City. She is a shapeshifter masquerading as a harmless child. Why is she zooming away in the pod that brought Superman to earth? After the battle in the Museum J’onn is left with a muddled mind. As for Supergirl she suffered the claws of a prehistoric predator. She seems ok but her cape may not survive. I wonder how Catco will spin this story? Andrea Rojas, owner of Obsidian North, has bought the paper. She is far more motivated by clicks on a headline than journalistic integrity. How will this affect Kara who is being given an award for reporting the truth? Moments before the presentation the truth pours out of Kara in a rush. Lena was immediately pulled on stage leaving Supergirl to wonder what the consequences of her deceit will be. Lena is isolating herself. She is relying on a virtual assistant. She sold Catco so she can have the capital for other projects. She argues that humans are too driven by their emotions. She is challenging herself to simulations. She is hoping to disconnect herself from her humanity. Miss Luthor is not the only one with a score to settle. The little girl I mentioned earlier was only a pawn. She was being used to gather objects her mistress needed to enter our world. Midnight materialized through a transmatter portal ready to fight. Supergirl is not the foe she seeks but J’onn J'onzz is. It was J’onn who banished Midnight to the Phantom Zone. She had aided the White Martians in destroying his whole race. Midnight sucks him into a black hole. Without a moment of hesitation Supergirl flies into action. Brainy gives her dire odds but she uses solar flares from her eyes to help J’onn. She will always be there to help her team regardless of the consequences. Maybe not a pawn after all the mysterious little girl remains. What is her mission? What will be the price to pay for deceiving Lena. She says she doesn’t want to kill Supergirl only cause her pain as she has caused Lena. She didn’t send the article to Andrea. That gives me a ray of hope that this friendship can be repaired. For now Lena is presenting a facade of forgiveness. She is a scorpion preparing to strike. This is far from our only problem. When J’onn returns to his office someone is waiting for him. Just when we are sure we know the last Green Martian another one turns up. What does he want? I have so many questions. What about Leviathan? We were told Lex failed to move the needle. Is Obsidian North the next tool that is being used. It could be a good Company. Kelly said her new job there will be helping patients with dementia and PTSD. Technology can have positive and negative effects. Will it be used to control people and bend them to the will of Leviathan? I fear Eve has reached the point of no return. She cannot run any more. This organization is everywhere. There is no escape. We will have to tune in next week to see who makes the next move. Until then this is your eye in the sky wishing you a super week.
