It's Tuesday, June 18th, A.D. 2024,. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Muslim-majority Türkiye kicks out 9 Christian missionaries Türkiye's highest court ruled in a 7-6 close vote to support the government's expulsion of nine foreign Christians for alleged missionary activities.  It is a Muslim-majority country. Kelsey Zorzi, Alliance Defending Freedom International's Director of Advocacy for Global Religious Freedom, has stated that this is one more indication that “Türkiye is systematically trying to extinguish Christian beliefs inside its borders.” Shockingly, 185 foreign missionaries have been expelled from the country since 2018. The nine individuals in this case now have the opportunity to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” (John 15:18) The foul diatribes of Covenant School massacre shooter Officials have released a stream of documents including journal entries produced by the person responsible for the Covenant School massacre in Nashville, Tennessee. The foul diatribes mainly concern the perpetrator's frustration with her God-given female gender, and her parents' preference for a “conservative” Christian faith. The animus expressed in her extensive handwritten entries have provided insight into the motives involved with six murders of teachers and children at the school on March 27, 2023.  (Link provided near the bottom of this transcript) El Salvadoran president turned to God in prayer Conservative talk show host Tucker Carlson recently interviewed the newly re-elected president of El Salvador on his outstanding victory, and his unprecedented rooting out of a strong criminal element from his country.   Nayib Bukele explained that ,upon his first election, the murder rate in El Salvador was three times greater than Haiti. Plus, his country was the murder capital of the world.   He pointed out the impossibility of rooting out 70,000 gang members who were intertwined with the population. Listen to this soundbite from Carlson's interview. BUKELE: “I basically said we're looking into an impossible mission here. So we prayed.” CARLSON: “You prayed in the meeting?” BUKELE: “Yes, yes, of course, several times. Yeah.” CARLSON: “What did you pray for?” BUKELE: “Wisdom, to win the war. I thought at the time that we will have civilian casualties. So, we prayed that the civilian casualties will be as low as possible. And we didn't have any civilian casualties.” CARLSON: “Was everyone in the meeting comfortable with that?” BUKELE: “Yes, yes. All my security cabinet are believers. They all believe in God. We're a secular country, of course. But we all believe in God.” CARLSON: “MS-13 is one of the major gangs…” BUKELE: “and they are Satanic also.” CARLSON: “That was my question. So, I hope you will explain it because very little has been written in the West about this.” BUKELE:  “They're Satanic, yes” CARLSON: “But actually, literally. Can you explain?” BUKELE: “Well, they didn't start it as a satanic organization. MS-13 started in Los Angeles, in the US, because Salvadorans were not allowed to sell drugs by the Mexican gangs. So, they created a gang that was called 18th street gangs.” In the same interview, Bukele later acknowledged that their victory over the criminals had to do with winning the “spiritual war” against “Satanic” forces, some of which were involved in conducting human sacrifices. Bukele plans to address the economic problems of the nation during his second term. He said the first part of his plan is to “seek God's wisdom” to which Tucker Carlson noted, “I have never heard any leader of any country say that.” Bukele was re-elected with 85% of the vote in February of this year.  Proverbs 15:33 reminds us that “The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.” SCOTUS disregarded FDA's own stat: 1 in 25 mothers go to ER As The Worldview reported on Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously approved the Abortion Kill Pill by mail last Thursday. At issue was the relaxing of rules relating to the administration of Mifepristone in the killing of an unborn child.   Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in the opinion that “the plaintiffs have failed to demonstrate that the FDA's relaxed regulatory requirements likely would cause them to suffer injury.” Attorney Erin Hawley with Alliance Defending Freedom, which represented the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, said, “Nothing in today's decision changes the fact that the FDA's own label says that roughly one in 25 women who take chemical abortion drugs will end up in the emergency room.”   The life of the child was not considered in the case. Nasdaq up 18%; Russell 2000 down 20% in value The Nasdaq composite index has improved 18% since the beginning of the year.  However, the Russell 2000 Index, representing the smaller companies on the market, has lost 1% over the last six months, reports WolfStreet.com. The Russell 2000 index has seen zero improvement in three and a half years.   Adjusted for inflation, this would account for a 20% loss in value. Exactly six companies, or 1% of America's largest public companies, represent 33% of the value of the entire S&P 500 index — Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, and Amazon. Surgeon General calling for mental health warnings for social media The U.S. Surgeon General is calling for mental health warnings on all social media platforms. In a recent opinion piece in the NY Times, Vivek Murthy argued social media companies should be required to display mental health warnings about the use of their platforms.   With the average daily use at 4.8 hours for adolescents, Murthy is calling for legislation to “shield young people from online harassment, abuse and exploitation and from exposure to extreme violence and sexual content that too often appears in algorithm-driven feeds.” And restricting “the use of features like push notifications, autoplay and infinite scroll, which prey on developing brains and contribute to excessive use.” Alabama Worldview listener grateful for making “Christ the center” Wyatt Nicaud in Summerdale, Alabama wrote me at Adam@TheWorldview.com. He said, “I am so appreciative of the Biblical worldview that is instituted in every broadcast. Making Christ the center of everything, including our news, is of the utmost importance.” 13 Worldview listeners donated $3,305.16 Toward our $63,000 goal by this Saturday, June 22nd, 13 Worldview listeners have stepped up to the plate. Hey, Crime Family, thanks for bearing with me as I am dropping Episode 92 two days late. The previous week just didn't allow me to finish it for Friday, so I am doing my first-ever Sunday release so I can stay on track for every other week. So, that business out of the way, this episode is a bit of a throwback to the old bad-guy / good-guy format that I still use in collaborations, but I'm both bad and good guy today. Today I bring you three teenagers who showed such strength, bravery, and presence of mind that they prevented the injury or death of people they cared about, or in one case, of complete strangers. Fair warning, these are hard cases to hear and definitely hard cases to narrate, so if you hear the emotion in my voice, you have no idea how many times i had to reread some of these paragraphs until I could get them out without a croak.Canaan Bower of Las Cruces, New Mexico, was 16 years old when he prevented a kidnapping, or worse, of a family at a gas station. Canaan was a champion heavyweight wrestler, but also an exemplary leader and human being, and his story is important.Jayden Perkins, of Chicago, Illinois, was 11 years old when he saved his pregnant mom and unborn sibling from almost certain death when his mom's distant ex burst into their home with a knife. Jayden was that child whom everyone adored, who brought light and sunshine into the day of every person he met. His story must be told, so that he will never be forgotten.Josslyn Millan, of Midvale, Utah, was 13 years old when her world went in an instant from a safe, family environment to absolute terror in a carjacking. Her first thoughts were not for herself, but for her infant sister, and she instinctively did all of the most important things to take control of the situation and get herself and her baby sister Ivey home safely. As per our regular format, the last story will leave you on a positive note to go out into the world feeling uplifted. As always, I'm grateful that you have stopped by here at the True Crime BnB! Pham was born in a Malaysian refugee camp in 1979. His parents are Vietnamese and fled the country during the Vietnam War. The family moved to the United States when he was five months old and has lived in the U.S. ever since. Pham was teased often as a young child, and has said that he began to "resent being Asian" because of this bullying. He often avoided traditional Asian food while growing up, opting for McDonald's hamburgers, because he thought "if I could eat American food, it would make me feel more American. Pham attended culinary school in San Francisco but began his career in software. His first chef job was at Casey's Irish Pub Downtown where he was hired in 2006 upon graduating from Le Cordon Bleu. After working in San Francisco, owner Blake Ballard convinced Chef Pham to join Spark Restaurant and Lounge in Provo, Utah. In 2009, Pham opened his own restaurant, Forage, in Utah with co-Chef Bowman Brown. In 2011 Pham received the Best New Chef Award from Food & Wine Magazine. In 2012, Pham was an Iron Chef America winner by beating Chef Bobby Flay. He also appeared on the second season of Extreme Chef. In 2018, he faced off against Chef Bobby Flay again on Beat Bobby Flay, securing a second victory against him. In 2016 Forage closed, with Pham and Brown parting ways. Pham's next project was the fast-casual fried chicken restaurant, Pretty Bird Hot Chicken. In the end, Bundy would confess to killing 30 women, but he is suspected of killing many more. The detectives ask Bundy about Melissa Smith whose father was the police chief of the town I grew up in, Midvale, Utah. Melissa and her family lived 5 miles from me and my family and she was my brother's friend. Carol DaRonch was kidnapped just 5 minutes from my house from the mall my friends and I hung out at all the time. My sister worked at that mall when Bundy was committing his crimes in Utah. One night a Volkswagen beetle followed her from work and left when she walked in the house. She believes it was Bundy. My mom drove her to work from that time on.The night before his execution, which was carried out on January 29th, 1989, it has been reported that he wept and prayed throughout the night.Promo:Sin City Stories: Vegas True Crime www.mayheminthedesert.com/Music: CO.AGhttps://www.youtube.com/@co.agmusic1823Sources:https://www.ktvq.com/news/trending/2019/03/13/dna-test-confirms-ted-bundy-responsible-for-utah-teens-death/https://www.flickr.com/photos/88663091@N04/48834146297https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/6664632/debra-jean-kenthttps://www.flickr.com/photos/greyloch/4842459860https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/6664991/melissa-anne-smithhttps://charleyproject.org/case/nancy-perry-bairdhttps://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mostly_intact_building_in_Thistle,_Utah,_Jul_15.jpghttps://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:UTAH_MK50-3_Thistle,_Utah_12.jpghttps://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Abandoned_house_in_Thistle,_Utah,_Jul_15.jpghttps://www.flickr.com/photos/kenlund/428226395https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/23911020/susan-curtishttps://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:FH000036.jpgThank you Captain Borax!https://www.youtube.com/@CaptainBorax/videoshttps://www.facebook.com/CaptainBoraxDonations are appreciated, if you would like to help support the show, use the link below and buy me a burrito and a Diet Pepsi:http://Ko-fi.com/crimeatoriumCrimeatorium's links:https://linktr.ee/CrimeatoriumIf you have a case suggestion, a comment about a case or a business inquiry, leave a voicemail message. The Idaho House of Representatives has passed a bill known as the "Greater Idaho" bill, which seeks to expand the state's territory by moving the Oregon-Idaho border to encompass a significant portion of Eastern Oregon. The bill grants Idaho lawmakers the authority to initiate discussions with their counterparts in Oregon to explore the feasibility of relocating the state line.Reps. Barbara Ehardt of Idaho Falls and Judy Boyle of Midvale collaborated on the joint resolution aimed at initiating formal talks with the Legislature of Oregon. The resolution received a favorable outcome, passing with a 41-28 vote."America's actually watching; we're not the only state looking to do this," Ehardt said. While debating on the House floor, supporters of the bill argued that adopting Idaho's laws in eastern Oregon would be beneficial in distancing the state's drug laws from the existing population centers of Idaho.According to the report, supporters also pointed to an economic analysis conducted by the Claremont Institute, which demonstrates that the incorporation of rural Oregon counties into Idaho would result in a positive net financial outcome for the latter.Although the Oregon Legislature proposed a bill that would permit such discussions, it has been dormant since early January and has yet to show any progress.Support the showSign Up For Exclusive Episodes At: https://reasonabletv.com/LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for new videos every day. https://www.youtube.com/c/NewsForReasonablePeople

Shiloh Nyce is an Indigenous female screenwriter and actor from the Haisla Nation on the Northwest Coast of Canada. Her First Nations name is Mah-gwees, meaning "snag on the beach". The Pacific Ocean and forest were her childhood playgrounds which has had significant inspirational influence on her artistry. She attended MacEwan University in Edmonton, Canada, where she received her Theatre Performance Degree and then went on to receive her Bachelor's Teaching Degree in Theater & Music from BYU-Idaho. Shiloh soon transitioned her stage practice to film with acting credits including Lakes 7 and the Golden Gun, The Life of Jesus Christ, and Maggie to name a few. In 2016 Shiloh founded the Salt Lake Actors Studio; a workshop that provided free performance education for the acting community. Shiloh then took time off to re-establish her roots in Haisla Territory. During this experience she realized she could play a role in keeping her history and culture alive through story. Shortly after, she had two personal dreams given to her that eventually became the foundations for her short film scripts; Hear Him and One Who Knows. In late 2020, Shiloh was accepted to WIFTV's Tricksters and Writers Program in Canada, a film writing scholarship for Indigenous women. She was instructed by Indigenous female filmmakers and under their tutelage wrote One Who Knows, which was then selected to be read live at the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival and is presently still receiving several festival selections and wins. Shiloh is currently working to direct One Who Knows and adapt it into a children's book (to be published in 2022). She also has plans to write and direct her newest story, The Matriarch into a feature length film. Presently, she lives in Midvale, UT with her husband and 3-year-old daughter. In 2020, the American wool industry lost an extremely important link in its production chain when the Yocom-McColl wool testing lab closed. That lab had been in operation for more than 50 years. And by the time it closed, it was our only remaining commercial wool testing lab in the country. Why does this matter? Because any kind of trade, whether it's buying or selling of wool, requires accurate commercial measurements to know what you're buying or selling. Testing for things like cleanliness. How much dirt is in this wool. How greasy is it? How fine is it? How great a variation is there between the finest and the roughest fibers? What am I really getting? These are all important things to know because wool comes off a living, breathing animal. It doesn't come out of a spigot, it's not out of a test tube. It's not an easily controlled substance, and there's lots of variation. When Yocom-McColl closed, American producers had to send their samples to New Zealand for testing. And while New Zealand has some extraordinary facilities for testing wool, and they can do it very quickly, they're in New Zealand. Which is a long distance for wool to travel on a routine basis from the United States. It would be easy to add this to the list of tragedies to befall the American wool industry, to point to it as another sign that everything is disappearing, but that's not actually the case. Before Yocom-McColl even closed, industry stakeholders began working on a plan. What's involved in setting up a commercial wool testing lab anyway? What kind of equipment do you need, what barriers might you face, and why does any of this matter? My guest today has very fresh experience trying to answer these questions. Dr. Dawn Brown is an obstetrician turned angora goat and sheep farmer turned mill owner who has recently stepped into what she calls a “bucket list” job opportunity. She is the manager of the new commercial wool testing lab that's being added onto the Bill Sims Wool & Mohair Research Laboratory at Texas A&M's Agrilife Research and Extension Center in San Angelo, Texas. And by January 2022, the lab is set to be up and running. It will join the April, 2021 newcomer Wasatch Wool Laboratories in Midvale, Utah. The United States will go from no commercial wool testing to two labs.  We discuss how the lab in San Angelo came about, what she does at the lab (hint: it involves destroying lots of wool), how she managed to get $400,000 worth of equipment to Texas from Australia, and what her hopes are for the future—not only of the lab and wool testing but of wool in general.Full transcript.Support the show (https://www.thewoolchannel.com/membership)
