Somebody Save Me: The Official, but mostly Unofficial, Smallville Podcast

The Dark Lana Saga finally comes to an end... THANK GOD!Everyone's "favorite" power couple is back after Lana got her super skin last week. While Clark just wants to have sex all day in his parents' old bed, Lana is only interested in "saving people", a.k.a. hunting down Lex. Toyman shows up and kills the entire board of directors at LuthorCorp. Oliver guilt trips Chloe into finding Lex in order to kill him. Lex reveals he's been in a garbage truck for the last few months and has only wanted to destroy the Clana relationship, which is honestly a good thing.Kristen Kreuk makes her final appearance as the once adorable, but now insufferable, DC Comics original character Lana Lang. Chris Gauthier (Watchmen, Once Upon a Time) guest stars as DC Comics original character Winslow Schott, a.k.a. Toyman.

Somebody Save Me: The Official, but mostly Unofficial, Smallville Podcast

This is dedicated to Texas, Louisiana swamps and Mother Russia! It's been four long weeks since the collapse of Clark's fortress. Here's what's happening: Clark has been slanging black market seafood in a Russian work camp. Oliver, AC and Dinah fight to reunite with their Boy Scout. Chloe has new powers and is loving it. Lois is now ten times hotter. LuthorCorp's new CEO arrives and has red hair...coincidence? Not likely. Cassidy Freeman (The Righteous Gemstones, Longmire) makes her Smallville debut as new series regular Tess Mercer. Justin Hartley, Alan Ritchson and Alaina Huffman all make their return as DC Comics original characters Green Arrow (Oliver Queen), Aquaman (Arthur Curry) and Black Canary (Dinah Lance), respectively.

EPISODE 6 - When the Lights Come On - “Stop Worrying About Your Hair”Greetings Super friends! Welcome to Superman & Lois & Pals. I'm Henry Bernstein and alongside me is my favorite super pal, Professor Sam Brody. Let's talk about Superman & Lois Season 4, Episode 6 - When The Lights Come OnDirected by:Ian SamoilWritten By:Kristi Korzec (Teleplay)Brent Fletcher (Story)The Apple TV and Imdb description is: Luthor plans to move LuthorCorp to Smallville, but finds opposition in Lana; Sarah faces a difficult decision; Clark confronts Luthor face-to-face.HENRY'S NOTES:Luthor temper tantrum. I dunno, I know this was supposed to seem intense but it was just silly to me and it made me laugh.Luthor confirms he has an endgame as he gazes on the GazetteFun that Jon is doing the superhero thing and I like that mom and dad finally told Jordan to get a jobSalt and Pepper patch in his hair (Love that) - it's funny because Tyloer has a lot of gray in his beard and it looks awesome. Do you think this is a Superman thing or a regular middle aged vanity thing? Interesting that he's concerned about Superman going gray when every comic book reader knows he looks great with some grayLuthor vs Gretchen is a great face offFunny that Jon has the Wally West eating thing. Especially because traditionally Superman doesn't need to eat. Ok so now the coach knows the secret and it's played for comedy? But “Aidy” knows too. They're definitely going for the “town knows and is protecting him” thing. Lois and Clark don't even seem that concerned.I'm starting to come around on it because of the way the town is reacting to Luthor.Lana going toe to toe with Luthor is A+I take exception to Sara calling Luthor a “bald headed loser” as if those two things were connected. To quote Larry David, “that's a hate crime, we're a group.”Sara wants to go abroad in high school? I mean not unheard of but seems odd. Nice Varsity Blues referenceLana getting beat up by Luthor is spot on. Love that Sarah fucked Otis up with a baseball bat. Good idea Kyle putting bats under beds.Clark vs Lex, let's go. Lex grabbed a red sun inhibitor. Good idea. Unhinged Tyler is new and I love seeing this range from him. Let's go Clark. Beat his ass. Who taught Clark how to fight?! I'm sorry that was a really cool fight scene. Loved seeing that side of Clark/Tyler.Full Mortal CombatHas Sarah ever flown with the boys before?“Get you a killer suit” with a great pull out shot and tease of the Lexcorp building.  Follow us on twitter at https://x.com/SupermanPalsPod!Check out a video version of this episode at https://www.youtube.com/@gonzo3249! In that tale, the town wasn't run by criminals, but by a particularly controlling sect of nuns. Kuberts Barbershop sign: One of the storefronts in Salvation features a pretty familiar name to DC Comics fans: Kubert. In this instance, it's likely a nod to Joe Kubert, whose work on Jonah Hex comics helped to craft the look of the character's early years. Kubert, of course, also worked on a lot of classic Hawkman stories, meaning that his influence has been felt quite a bit on Legends. Jonah Hex: While Hex's origin is that of a post-Civil War bounty hunter, he's had some time-travel adventures himself. In the DC Comics Universe, when he found himself flung to the far future after the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths. G. Wells: The child Stein saves in the episode is actually a young H.G. Wells, whose The Time Machine is widely regarded as one of the earliest and best novels on the topic of time-travel. ---- But we all know Warehouse 13 told the TRUE story of H.G. Well. (Shannon, that's for you!) John Wayne reference: Ray comes up with another great alias... Turnbull: Turnbull, the man who's responsible for the sacking of Calvert, Oklahoma, is a Jonah Hex villain from the comics.  He was also the villain in the Jonah Hex movie played by John Malkovich. Hannibal Hawkes: Hannibal Hawkes isn't just the Old West hero Nighthawk, but in modern stories it was revealed that he was, indeed, one of the many lives of Prince Khufu/Hawkman. Klemmer & Sons sign: One of Salvation's storefronts is that of "Klemmer and Sons," apparently the business owned by Phil Klemmer's family.  Klemmer is a writer and producer on Legends of Tomorrow. Geddes Drugstore sign: One of the signs in town is for an apothecary named D. Geddes,  a nod to David Geddes, who directed last week's episode titled "Progeny.   ARROW NEWS:   Stephen Amell teases 4-way crossover with “Boots on the Ground”  (Date: 07 Aug 2016) * Stephen Amell tweeted a pic of a bunch of boots - can you figure out who is who? * https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CpSSSeCUAAAhFbq.jpg Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/08/07/stephen-amell-teases-boots-on-the-ground-for-dc-tv-universe-cros/ CW Releases Season Synopses for DC-TV Shows  (Date: 10 Aug 2016) The CW has released the official synopsis for Arrow, Flash, LoT and Supergirl: Arrow:http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/arrow-season-5-synopsis-teases-a-deadly-new-adversary-new-hero - October 5th Flash:http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/the-flash-season-3-description-retraces-barrys-path-to-flashpoint - October 4th LoT:http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/legends-of-tomorrow-s2-plot-synopsis-teases-jsa-vixen-citizen-steel-more-2016 - October 13th Supergirl:http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/supergirl-s2-synopsis-hypes-superman-team-up-search-for-cadmus-more  - October 10th Dolph Lundgren to guest on Arrow Season 5  (Date: 11 Aug 2016) * best known for roles in Rocky IV, Universal Soldier, The Punisher, He-Man and The Expendables, will play the head of the Bratva (Russian mob) in the flashback * IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000185/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Link: http://comicbook.com/2016/08/11/dolph-lundgren-to-appear-on-arrow-season-5/   GENERAL DC TV NEWS   The Flash: Susan Walters (Vampire Diaries) cast as Caitlin's Mom (Date: 08 Aug 2016) * Susan Walters moves from one CW show (The Vampire Diaries) to another (The Flash). * Dr. Carla Tannhauser is a biomedical engineer, similar to Caitlin (biochemist & M.D.). * Snow and her mother share a knack for science, but not much else. Hey ATA Listeners, it's Dan here, after surviving the world's greatest bachelor party, that caused me to wake up the next morning to find a Lemur on top of me, a Bride in my closet and the Luthor Corp. sign in my living room. I pulled off getting over my magically induced champagne bender to finish editing this podcast. And on this week's episode as expected we are reviewing episodes of Chuck, Castle, Fringe, Smallville, and Supernatural but not Bones because it is on a three-week hiatus due to American Idol. Highlights include,  Nico and I discussing an episode of Supernatural that hit really close to home as well as us giving our reaction on a fun but off-the-wall episode of Smallville that was supposedly the sendoff for one of our favorite characters here at ATA, the legendary Chloe Sullivan. Also, yours truly once again spreads the love for John Noble because his performance in this week's Fringe flashback episode as Dr. Bishop was absolutely superb and I get on my soapbox to ask all of you TV fans out there to perform a job for Superman, which is saving four of the six shows that we cover from extinction at the hands of their respective networks.
