Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Last Wednesday morning, Marvel Television treated fans to the long awaited first official teaser trailer for Daredevil: Born Again. The trailer was met with universal praise for its dark tone and brutal depictions of violence, elements that it shares with the beloved Netflix series. The nine-episode first season premieres March 4 on Disney Plus. In some Captain America news, it was confirmed that Brave New World will have a total runtime of one hour and 58 minutes, which ties it with Ant-Man & The Wasp as the seventh shortest MCU flick to date. It will also be the first Captain America film under two hours long. It's brand new news today, Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to star in Shawn Levy's future Star Wars film. Levy's film has been in development with Lucasfilm since 2022, and getting Gosling seems like it could be a major step in getting the film truly off the ground and into the galaxy far, far away. Last we knew, the film was not to be set within the Skywalker saga The use of AI has been a frequent hot topic for Hollywood in recent years, reaching a seeming fever pitch during the 2023 WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes as a major point of negotiation. While the dust seemed to have settled a bit with the resolution of those strikes, new controversies plaguing high profile films and filmmakers have brought the discussion back to the forefront. First, Taxi Driver writer and First Reformed director, Paul Schrader, opined, in a since much lambasted Facebook post, the benefits of using a platform like ChatGPT for film ideas, in contrast to waiting the months it can take writers to ideate. Elsewhere, awards season favorite and Oscar hopeful, The Brutalist, has come under fire after an editor revealed generative A.I. was used to enhance the authenticity of the lead performers Hungarian accents. Emily Beecham and David Krumholtz have signed on to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, portraying the parents of Kara Zor-El. Production on the DC Studios film commenced last week. Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for “Until Dawn,” the live-action adaptation of the popular 2015 PlayStation horror game. The film is currently set to be released on April 25th. After nearly 15 years of shaping Spider-Man's adventures at Marvel Comics, Eisner Award winner Dan Slott is making the move to DC. The acclaimed writer will make his DC debut on Superman Unlimited, a new monthly series featuring art by American Vampire co-creator Rafael Albuquerque. Westworld star Thandiwe Newton and Silo's Steve Zahn have joined Paul Rudd and Jack Black in Columbia's comedy reboot of Anaconda. Nintendo has revealed its Switch 2 console with first look images and a teaser trailer, confirming a 2025 release. Uma Thurman has joined the cast of Dexter series Dexter: Resurrection and will star alongside Michael C. Hall. Filmmaker David Lynch, who created celebrated counterculture classics like Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and co-created Twin Peaks, has died at 78. A24 and Picturestart are teaming with director Charlie Polinger for a revisionist and darkly comedic take on The Masque of The Red Death, based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allen Poe. Sydney Sweeney is currently in negotiations to star. After extensive negotiations, IMAX has secured a deal to exclusively screen Greta Gerwig's Netflix adaptation of "Narnia" in theaters worldwide for two weeks, beginning Thanksgiving 2026, before its streaming debut that Christmas. Joel McHale has joined the cast of Scream 7 and will play Mark Evans, the husband to Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott. A24 has released the first trailer for upcoming horror film Opus, which hits theaters on March 14th. The film stars Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis, and Amber Midthunder.

Host Anthony Desiato and guest Zach Moore (Always Hold On To Smallville) pick up right where they left off last week as they continue charting Clark's personal journey across the decade-long television series SMALLVILLE. This week, they follow Clark into the so-called "Dropout Years," when he left college to run the farm after Jonathan's death and shied away from the destiny that awaited — even as he developed super-breath, encountered more of his future Justice League teammates, rounded up escaped Phantom Zone prisoners, and looked after Kara Zor-El. Then, they enter the Metropolis Years, aka the final era of the show, in which Clark started working at the Daily Planet, embarked on a romantic relationship with Lois, developed a dual superhero identity (The Blur), and — at long last — reconciled both of his worlds before taking flight as Superman."A Superboy Fan Journey" Chapter XVIII.Support the show and receive exclusive podcast content at Patreon.com/AnthonyDesiato, including the spinoff podcasts BEYOND METROPOLIS and DIGGING FOR JUSTICE!Visit BCW Supplies and use promo code FSP to save 10% on your next order of comics supplies. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for information about all your favorite fictional Universes. Milly Alcock will show us her superhero landing when Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow premieres on June 26, 2026. Other than Sasha Calle's portrayal in The Flash, this means we'll see Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El on the big screen for the first time since 1984. The film will be released just a year after we see James Gunn's vision for the man of steel himself. In a move that seems telling of the new direction of MCU, the Marvel Television banner has been reintroduced and will be used for live action series such as Daredevil: Born Again, Agatha All Along, and Ironheart. The banner was previously used for MCU-adjacent shows Agents of SHIELD, Cloak & Dagger, and others. Brad Winderbaum, head of TV, streaming, and animation for Marvel Studios, said the idea is to let audiences know they can “jump in anywhere” in the MCU and still understand what's going on. Winderbaum also alluded to a Marvel Studios rebrand that encompasses Marvel Television, Marvel Animation, and Marvel Spotlight. HBO's streaming service Max released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Dune television spinoff show, Dune: Prophecy. The show is described as taking place 10,000 years before the events that lead to Paul Atreides' rise to emperor and will follow two Harkonnen sisters as they work to establish the Bene Gesserit. Inspired by the book Sisterhood of Dune, the show has mostly been kept under wraps until now. Movie goers probably should have bought a ticket for themselves and their imaginary friends last weekend as John Krasinski's new film IF didn't quite reach expectations with a $35 million opening in the U.S. Although this means it took first place at the box office, the movie cost $110 million to make and a global box office of $55 million is still a stumble. There may be hope yet for the kid-centered flick with a lot of schools across the country ready to enter summer break. Hot off the heels of an incredibly well received first season of X-Men '97, Marvel Studios seems to have found the voice of their live-action X-Men in screenwriter Michael Lesslie. Lesslie's writing credits include Assassin's Creed, The Hunger Games: A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, as well as the upcoming Now You See Me 3. While both parties are still in talks, if the addition pans out, it will be the most significant step to actualizing the X-Men in the MCU since Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019. Poker Face and Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne has joined the cast of Fantastic Four in an undisclosed role. Lionsgate is developing a John Wick spinoff movie around Donnie Yen's assassin character, Caine. Yen will reprise his John Wick: Chapter 4 role in the untitled project set to shoot in Hong Kong in 2025. The franchise expanding film, with no director yet announced, will follow the events of John Wick 4 as Caine has been freed from his obligations to the High Table. 1996 golf comedy Happy Gilmore is officially getting a sequel at Netflix with Adam Sandler returning to reprise his role. Amazon's Marvel drama Silk: Spider Society — from Sony Pictures Television — is no longer moving forward at the streamer but Sony does plan to shop the series to another studio or streaming service. Sony Pictures announced last week that I Know What You Did Last Summer, a reboot of the film with the same name as the original 1997 horror slasher, is set for theatrical release domestically on July 18, 2025. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson will direct and Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze, Jr. are currently in early talks to return. Last week, Disney announced that Hulu is teaming with the estate of author James Clavell to extend the FX series Shōgun for two additional seasons. A writer's room is currently being assembled. Shōgun is currently the most viewed show in FX's history.
Warner Bros. unveils Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow for June 26, 2026, promising interconnected storytelling. Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, directed by Craig Gillespie. Marvel Studios reveals Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart set for Disney+ premiere in March 2025. Charlie Cox returns as Daredevil, while Dominique Thorne leads Ironheart. Disney's CEO Bob Iger prioritises quality with two to three Marvel releases annually, aligning with the studio's commitment to elevate the MCU brand back to its previous successes. Hulu sets the stage for Only Murders in the Building Season 4 debut on August 27, reuniting Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez to solve the murder of Charles' stunt double, Sazz Pataki played by Jane Lynch. Eugene Levy, Melissa McCarthy, and Molly Shannon join the star-studded cast for another gripping season of mystery and humour.
This week we are reading SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW, by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The 2021 limited series from DC's Black Label - which is basically DCs new mature / Elseworld's imprint. Most just assume that Kara Zor El is simply Superman's girly cousin - which is probably how she was created years ago. But in this cosmic adventure, she is anything but. Yes there is girl power, but as we tag along for a girls trip for justice - basically True Grit in space - we are brought to face the best and worst humanity has to offer. There's a rocket ship, a space bus depot, space drugs. a space dragon, space pirates...and space racism! And let's not forget Supergirl's super dog Krypto and Super horse Comet. And the story's true protagonist, Ruthye, a young lass from a rural backwater planet whose on an Eniga Montoya styled revenge quest, where she enlists a reluctant Supergirl after Krypto gets shot with an arrow by Krem, the murderous villain who killed Ruthye's poor yet noble father. On their journey we see the best and worst we have to offer on full sci-fi display. With moral quandaries that are often hopeless - which hurt a bit more given the times we are in - along with good humor, beautiful art, and a lovely script, you can't help but find something to love about this book. Well, except Ryan...

Shape-shifting aliens have come to this place of peace in search of Lynari, a refugee from their homeworld. Let's just hope this gamble is worth it, because Lynari's secret - the one that got her in trouble in the first place - could mean bad news for everybody! The immediate reference of the prophecy seems to be to David, but the eschatological theme goes beyond him. There is to be a connection made between this passage and the sighting of a star in its ascendancy by the magi, who then traveled to Bethlehem to see the one born King of the Jews (Matt 2:2). The expression “son of a star” (Aram Bar Kochba) became a title for a later claimant to kingship, but he was doomed by the Romans in a.d. 135. House of El was one of the noble ruling families of the planet, Krypton. The name El translates in Kryptonian to "of the star". The family line extends back thousands of years, to a time when tribes of Kryptonians still waged war against one another across the continents. The direct descendants of Jor-El the First sired children who would become the sole survivors of Krypton's destruction - Kal-El and Kara Zor-El. The practice of seating the ruler upon a stone was practised in Ireland since ancient times. This tradition is understood to be a surviving part of ancient fertility rites. Generations of Scotland's sovereigns, from the ninth century, had been crowned upon the stone. The Stone was used at Iona, Dunadd, Dunstaffnage and Scone for enthroning a succession of Dalriadic and subsequent monarchs. There are various descriptions of the Stone of Destiny. The switch between Ephraim and Manasseh AMERICA EASTMINSTER - MANASSEH If St Columba's, it was white marble. BRITAIN WESTMINSTER -EPHRAIM If Jacob's Pillow, it would have been black basalt. The Stone of Destiny was the traditional Coronation Stone of the Kings of Scotland and, before that, the Kings of Dál Riata. Legends associate it with Saint Columba, who might have brought it from Ireland as a portable altar. In AD 574, the Stone was used as a coronation chair when Columba anointed and crowned Aedan King.
