In his sixth novel, The Red Daughter, novelist (and regular Beyond the Page host, JOHN BURNHAM SCHWARTZ imaginatively inhabits the life of Svetlana Alliluyeva (1926 – 2011), the only daughter of Joseph Stalin, who in his three decades as the tyrannical ruler of the Soviet Union was responsible for the deaths of far more than twenty million people. At the height of the Cold War, Svetlana became the most important Soviet citizen ever to defect to the West, arriving in New York to throngs of reporters and a nation hungry to hear her story. By her side was a young lawyer sent by the CIA to smuggle her into America. That lawyer was John Burnham Schwartz’s father. Supergirl finally fights Kasnia's favorite daughter Red Daughter. Also Lex's true paln is finally revealed

This week the proverbial poo hits the spinning blades this week.  While Kara is able to escape her captivity, it's only to go head to head with Red Daughter and wind up getting the brakes beaten off her.  Surrounding this storyline is Alex rediscovering the memories J'onn erased, potentially triggered by the stress of the adoption falling through and the realization that the adoption was designed to fill a hole she didn't realize existed in her life. Chyler Leigh delivered a masterful and emotional performance, even in the wake of us screaming at the teleivision "THAT IS NOT HOW SUNLIGHT WORKS!"  Meanwhile, Brainiac 5 is unleashed when Brainy, Nia and J'onn go undercover to discover where the captured aliens are being sent and Brainy is tortured.  This causes him to turn on Nia and J'onn and use them as pawns in his plan.  Is this the seeding of next year's big bad? Lockwood learns that much like most of the White men in American government he got his job through manipulation and connections and not any real talent or intelligence of his own.  Finally, Red Daughter pays the ultimate price for trusting Lex.   Like what you hear? *insert Don LaFontaine's voice here* In a world where Lex Luthor is free, no one is safe from his villainy and cunning.  Kara is framed for attempted murder and destruction of federal property via the use of Red Daughter.  James' mind is blown when it is revealed to him that Lex had a hand in his shooting.  Lena learns to extent of Eve Tessmacher's machinations under Lex's direction.   Lillian learns her son was about to commit matricide.  J'onn...J'onn... Okay uncue Don's voice here because technically what's going on with J'onn has nothing to do with Lex, but it does bring back our favorite Carl Lumbly as Pappa J'onnz to tell his son to stop being a dumbass and so literal. The CW's Girl of Steel had a challenging year this past season on Supergirl as Kara and her friends dealt with Worldkillers and what have you. After a dark season, the super team is getting ready for its fourth season as the cast and producers previewed what is coming up in Season 4 at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. DC TV Podcasts’ Andy Behbakht (The Flash Podcast, Titans Podcast) was fortunate to attend the press room to chat with the cast and producers what to expect in the new season. Two of the great talents present was executive producers Jessica Queller and Rob Rovner.
