This week we talk about sexism and women's breasts and the premier of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Then we get super nerdy about the MCU and come to the conclusion that Andrew Garfield should be the next president of the United States of America because his name sounds presidential. We also managed to get confused and then unconfused about MS Marvel vs Captain Marvel vs Super Girl kindof. It's a good thing we didn't get to these final two episodes until December because we can say "You sit on a throne of lies". Y'all this finale was not good. The final two episodes of Supergirl do not pay off any of the arcs they've been building on instead choosing to conveniently wrap up Nxyly and the arduous search for the totems in the first ten minutes of the finale episode so they can spend the next thirty on an overly long wedding scene that could have been a montage. And in spite of the show being called Supergirl, the person who really carried these last two episodes was tiny little Esme (Mila Jones). We know that baby's back is tired. Unfortunately, as we predicted, the show seemed unsure of what to do with Kara this season, wrapping up her story with the reveal to the world that Kara Danvers is Supergirl. It's no "I am Ironman" moment, that's for sure. We talk all of this and the many ways we would have closed out this run of Supergirl's final season on this week's podcast. Like what you hear? The battle has been won. Esme is safe at home. Alex is a married woman. Kara is committed to being true to both sides of herself. We now live in a National City where the citizens know that Kara Danvers is Supergirl. She will use words to save the day and fists only when absolutely necessary. She will always be our Paragon of Hope! What will happen now as our adventure continues? Look throughout the Universe for all our Superfriends. I am confident they will pop up to lend a hand as problems arise starting with Sentinel in the five-part Flash Armageddon Event. However, before we dive into whatever drama is brewing elsewhere in the Universe we need to hear from you. You know how Green Butterfly and Silver Vox feel about the Supergirl finale but what about you? Here at Maid of Steel you are the star of the show. You are the most important part of the story. There was a lot of anger, sadness and trepidation leading into this pair of episodes. Now that they have aired, did the story within them bring you any closure? My hope is that you found some joy in the characters we have all loved so much. Now it is time for my favorite part, an episode dedicated entirely to you, our listeners. Television shows will come and go but Super Friends are forever!
It's the final mailbag! In this epilogue, Tim unboxes a real-life mailbag surprise from Frank. Originally aired on Beer With Geeks Episode 378 (https://www.beerwithgeeks.com/378).
The fight for the totems has taken a desperate turn. Supergirl and her team have five totems however Lex and Nyxly have stolen the most precious of them all. The love totem has fused itself with Alex and Kelly's young daughter Esme. In true Lex fashion, he gives the Superfriends an ultimatum. They must give him the five totems they possess and the destiny totem then he will return Esme. The love totem is different from the others. Not only did it fuse with a living being, but each time it is activated some of the petals from the flower tattoo on the little girl's neck fall. Nyxly predicts that if all petals are allowed to fall then the totem will find a new host and will be lost to them. Lex and Nyxly disagree on how to separate the totem from Esme. Lex does not care if the little girl is hurt in the process. Lex thinks he is so clever, but we are shown a different side of Nyxly. She wants to possess the totem, but she doesn't want Esme to come to any harm. Nyxly also wants to obtain the totem honestly by passing the love gauntlet. In making this choice the gauntlet is achieved and the love totem judges Nyxly worthy of possessing it. Meanwhile Alex and Kara are disagreeing on how to rescue Esme and keep the world safe. Alex wants to meet the ransom demands and take out Lex with her bare hands. Kara is worried about surrendering that much power to the enemy. If Nyxly and Lex can unite the totems to create the All Stone, Supergirl is concerned they will be unstoppable. She heads to Prague in pursuit of the destiny totem. This magical item shows Kara a possible destiny that she cannot allow to happen. If Nyxly and Lex wield the power of all the totems combined into the All Stone then they will destroy this planet and enslave its people. They must make a plan, so this future does not become a reality. Brainy has an idea to use a satellite to concentrate sunlight to super charge Supergirl. Alex just wants to take the totems and exchange them for her daughter. The sisters go their separate ways to try to achieve victory. In the final moments of absorbing the extra sunlight Kara has second thoughts. The people she wants to help are scared and running away. This can't be the right decision. Through the power of Brainy's legion crown and a little magic from Lena, Supergirl is able to deliver one last hope speech to everyone all at once. This mobilizes the citizens of National City to be the heroes in their own life. As a result of that speech there are many people to back up our Superfriends. The heroes won the day and evil has been defeated. Now it is time for the happily ever after. However, our paragon of hope is still conflicted. In the quiet moments following Alex and Kelly's wedding Kara gets an unexpected phone call. Cat Grant has bought Catco back and wants Kara to be her Editor in Chief. Can she find the balance in her life? Can she be both? After some encouragement from Alex and prodding that only Ms. Grant could provide Kara has made a decision. She does have the courage to do both and she will tell the world. She is Kara Danvers, Pulitzer winning reporter and Supergirl. Kara reveals to the world she is our beloved Maid of Steel.

Supergirl has returned from The Phantom Zone haunted by her experiences there. Her integration back into being Earth's hero and into her life as Kara Danvers has hurdles to overcome. Join The Green Butterfly and The Silver Vox as they break down this exciting episode! The post MOS 148 – S6E8 – Welcome Back, Kara! appeared first on Golden Spiral Media- Entertainment Podcasts, Technology Podcasts & More.
Frank and Tim return to discuss Kara's return, Andrea Rojas's tactics, and a sorry excuse for a Roomba. SUPER FRIENDS REUNITED! – As Supergirl and Zor-El make their return to National City, they are determined to keep the Phantom Zone behind them and enjoy being superheroes together. Unfortunately, their overzealous efforts backfire, creating a whole new threat to National City.
What makes someone your One True Pairing? In my opinion it is many things. That person loves you for all that you are while also inspiring you to try new things. An individual that makes you laugh and holds you when you cry. A person who knows what you mean even when a situation leaves you speechless. A partner that will walk through the triumphs and disappointments of life with you. Who should be that person for Kara? There will be challenges to face for sure. Our Maid of Steel has extraordinary powers. Being a hero and a Paragon will make her late for dinner alot! Does that mean someone that is super powered like Mon El would be the best choice? Melissa and Chris are living happily ever after in real life. In addition, their on-screen chemistry is strong. Is this enough to vote Mon El in as Supergirl's perfect life partner? Silver Vox has always said James is the one for Kara. He understands her hero's life and pushes her to be a better journalist. They set them up perfectly in season one of the series only to tear it apart at the start of season two. Crisis has given us the gift of Kenny Li. The recent episodes explore the new timeline where he survives. Those episodes show us that he loves Kara Danvers, Kara Zor El and Supergirl. As we have always said, the Danvers' sisters are the heart of the show. That could mean that OTP does not mean romantic love. Two girls born on different planets have become the closest sisters I have ever seen portrayed on television. Green Butterfly and Silver Vox can't wait to hear what our super friends have to say on this topic. Who will come out on top? Push play and find out!
Midvale is the small town where Kara Zor El became Kara Danvers. A place where she found a new purpose. Alex Danvers' life was easier before Kara crashed into it. She had two loving parents and not so much responsibility. Now her mother expects her to be a good Earth ambassador and make sure her sister is safe and happy. Maybe that part would not be such a hardship if she hadn't lost her father to achieve that goal. Alex has never had a sister before but she promises to get better at it. The first time we visit Midvale two broken hearted women are returning to their childhood home for some comfort. It is there that we learn that the death of Kenny Li in high school really brought Alex and Kara closer together. It was the first time they worked together to make the world a better place. It was a story told through a flashback so no harm was done to the timeline. In season six we get another Midvale based story. However this one involves time travel in a post crisis world. In order to save Kara from the Phantom Zone they need a sample of her blood. Nia and Brainy head to 2009 to save their Maid of Steel. It is a reality where Kenny Li has survived. Yes that also means the sisters don't form that initial bond as a consequence of his murder. However, the Green Butterfly is not concerned. In any timeline, through any twist of fate, these two sisters will find their common ground. They are destined to make the world a better place. Kara is the Paragon of Hope but she does not stand alone. Right beside her stands Sentinel, always watching and protecting as a good big sister does.
Tread Perilously finally spotlights an episode of "Supergirl" as a month of Kryptonian-focused shows begins. This time, Kara Danvers sort of stars in an episode called "The Bodyguard." When a would-be assassin threatens Andrea Rojas's life on the eve of the Obsidian North Platinum launch, Lex Luthor assigns Supergirl to be her personal bodyguard. Meanwhile, a newly unemployed Alex joins J'onn in the search for the assassin while Brainy -- now the sole Superfriend inside the DEO -- evades their request for assistance as he continues his plan to expose Lex. Will the assassin kill Andrea Rojas? Or will a successful save by Supergirl aid Lex's overall scheme? Erik and Justin recall a time when Supergirl was a constant part of Tread Perilously chatter. Justin immediately finds new love interest William Dey a "3D printed" facsimile of a real one. The current state of the Arrowverse gets reviewed. Justin's wife provides an incredible comic book trope which applies quite well to shows like Supergirl and The Flash. Virtual Reality joins the list of well-known markers indicating a poor quality project. A discussion of the "Spock-Artax" Empathy Test leads to a surprising number of "You Might Be A Synthetic" jokes. The pair try to figure out why Lori Singer never had her moment and Supercorp becomes a key topic once again.
Tim and Frank recap the "nightmarish" mid-season finale Fear Knot. See you in August for the conclusion of the final season! As the Super Friends brave the Phantom Zone to bring Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) home, each member of the team is confronted by visions of their worst fear.
CJ Grant is determined to get the story. She will do whatever it takes to show Perry White that she is destined for more than the tabloid stories he sends her to cover. She will find her own story. One that will make her more famous than Lois Lane. However her hubris may change her destiny forever. Brainy and Nia must follow Kara to prom. They have to be there on site for the meteor shower. Kara’s encounter with that space rock will provide our super friends with the blood sample they need. Using The genetic code found there, they can hopefully find present day Supergirl in the phantom zone and bring her home. They are however temporarily unable to fulfill their main mission. Nia continues to dream of a pink cougar and continues to have trouble interpreting what it means. CJ Grant unknowingly releases Naxim Tork, who turns around and locks her up. Nia realizes the pink cat represents Cat Grant and they must save her before she changes her fate. Kara is one strong girl already. She is truthful with Kenny about what is in her heart. Cat Grant will make Kara stronger. Cat Grant will teach Kara how to stand up for herself. Cat Grant stands up to Perry White and goes on to start Catco Media. We have had many awesome episodes demonstrating the positive things Cat Grant has brought to Kara Danvers’ life. Our super friends are amazing and able to do it all. Now time to leave 2009 and head back to the present to save our Maid of Steel!

Chyler Leigh directed the episode written by Rob Wright & Jess Kardos (#606).
Episode 73: What happens when the students become the teachers and the teachers are... still in school? This week on Supergirl's Attic, we look at the power Nia's sleeping on, a developing Brainy, and miniature mentors Kara and Alex as we uncover what maturity means to these growing heroes of Supergirl.THE FLASHBACK TO MIDVALE INTRODUCES A YOUNG CAT GRANT - Nia (Nicole Maines) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) attempt to save Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) from the Phantom Zone by time traveling back to Kara's home in 2009. However, when their ship crashes upon arrival, a young Kara Danvers (guest star Izabela Vidovic) is the first on the scene. Meanwhile, a young reporter named Cat Grant (guest star Eliza Helm) sets her sights on Midvale as she suspects there is a big story in the small town. Alexandra LaRoche directed the episode written by Rob Wright & Jess Kardos (#605). See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Kara is in pain. The girl of steel is crumbling on the inside. No amount of pizza or potstickers can ease her broken heart. She has sent the man she loves into space to save this planet from an alien race looking to colonize it. National City wants to celebrate their hero and Kara wants to be alone. She longs to sleep because there she can see the faces of loved ones lost. Speaking of dreaming. Someone in National City is having pretty intense ones after manifesting super strength at the event on the waterfront. Lena is visualizing a business as she jumps in to save Catco from Morgan Edge. How will she succeed now Kara has quit. Supergirl is attempting to push Kara Danvers out of her life. Alex reminds her sister that Kara is her favorite person and she should think about that before attempting to erase that part of herself. There is hope by the end of the episode that our Paragon is on the mend. Please join Silver Vox and Green Butterfly for our latest discussion! Hopefully our donut loving, game night dominating, Maid of Steel will feel better really soon. National City is expecting Reign.
It's the last episode of the Invasion Crossover! Dany and Devon are joined by Mari to break down the climatic ending of the Dominator's Invasion. They discuss how the Legends are used, How Oliver is Out-Of-Character, and Kara Danvers is still awesome. [VOTE FOR WHAT YEAR WE COVER IN 2021: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HPLW5SX] It's our first ever big superhero blockbuster! Only took us 99 episodes to get to one. This week, we're talking about Supergirl, released November 21st in 1984. It's pretty terrible, however we can't quite agree on if it's so-bad-it's-good or if it's just a really awful movie. Supergirl continues to protect the planet. Many miles away in the Arctic, Dr.Jones is researching how to save our planet from a climate catastrophe. He wants to spread a message of conservation. Deep beneath the ice lays an organism that will consume the energy of everything it touches. It leaches all power leaving only empty shells in its wake. Another thing that can zap energy away from you is the act of keeping a secret. The process of keeping a piece of yourself hidden. Kara Danvers understands that well. Until very recently few people knew of her super powers. What if your secret will cause people to view you in a different way? This is what Alex is thinking about. What will change if she admits she has feelings for Maggie? In this episode we get a very realistic portrayal of what it feels like to come out as gay. Many of the words the writers use for our heroes match what I said many years ago. I still remember how thankful I was to the writers and our leading ladies for giving us this story. Even though that part of my story has passed I was glad for the next generation to have this story showing a positive and realistic coming out story. As we move through this rewatch I love to see our team grow in strength together. It was fun to watch Supergirl take down Parasite. I hope you will join Green Butterfly and Silver Vox as we continue this journey with our Super Friends. Please remember don’t let a secret drain the life out of you. It is OK to say what you are feeling out loud. This is your eye in the sky Green Butterfly. Have a super week.
Episode 65: Hope, Help, and Compassion For All. This episode of Supergirl's Attic, we shine some sunlight on Kara Danvers as the hero we truly deserve in times of hopelessness and despair. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

As a result, he gained the ability to absorb the life-force of others, allowing him to dramatically extend his life. Believing he was somehow linked to The Flash by the similar accidents in which they gained their powers, Hersch founded a cult whose members were dedicated to murdering everyone the Scarlet Speedster ever saved, using lightning bolt-shaped daggers. As the result of a vision, Hersch believed that the energy from all the people The Flash saved, and from the hero himself, would allow him to resurrect his dead wife. https://www.cbr.com/flash-season-5-chris-klein-cicada/ Supergirl Adds Fan-Favorite Legionnaire as TV's First Transgender Superhero (Date: 21 July 2018) The CW's Supergirl has cast transgender activist Nicole Maines as television's first trans superhero, in a role that appears to introduce another member of DC's Legion of Super-Heroes to the drama. It's going to be really emotional. It's going to be all about Oliver's family, but not the family we're thinking of right now. It's going to end in a giant explosion, but not where we think it's going to end, and the emotional punch is going to be bigger than the actual physical part of the bombs going off.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/04/07/spoiler-room-arrow-blacklist-scandal/ ARROW: MANU BENNETT'S DEATHSTROKE WILL RETURN, CONFIRMS STEPHEN AMELL (Date: 10 April 2017) Before “Arrow” Season 5 thunders to its conclusion, Deathstroke will return to the series. On Twitter, star Stephen Amell confirmed that Manu Bennett will reprise his role as Slade Wilson. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim went on to confirm Bennett's return as well. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-deathstroke-manu-bennett-return-season-5/ Manu Bennett's Deathstroke Will Return To Arrow, Despite Actor's Denials (Date: 12 April 2017) Bennett had tweeted that on Monday that he wasn't returning to Arrow, and then followed it up yesterday with a tweet that read, "Enough b.s about d.s!!! FACT: Deathstroke Arrow are currently filming in Vancouver IS NOT ME. I am in Auckland filming The Shannara Chronicles." While Bennett was not currently filming Arrow, it seems that he is or will be at some point this week. The "other" Deathstroke was likely a stunt performer, there to shoot some scenes for which Bennett wouldn't have removed the character's trademark helmet. Labs team, who have become shells of their former selves after the death of Iris. Elsewhere, back in 2017, Killer Frost begins to wreak havoc in Central City! The statue features Diana in an action-ready pose, bracing for combat with her sword and shield in hand. The base suggests it will interlock with other statues, though on its own is rather boring. Still, the lush reds and rich golds and blues are stunning, and Kotobukiya always excels at sculpting hair. The statue also holds a well-crafted resemblance to Gal Gadot, who has her trademark golden lasso at her side. Wonder Woman will retail for 13,800 Yen, which translates to about $124 USD. She is shipping sometime in July of 2017. Rucka took to his Tumblr to tell fans that he would be leaving the title due to the strain of the twice-monthly schedule. Identifying it as his last issue on the title "for the time being," Rucka advised fans against assuming the worst and wrote, "I just can't maintain the pace on the title while also fulfilling my commitments to my other collaborators. It is, genuinely, as simple as that." Shortly thereafter, Sharp took to Facebook to confirm that he, too, would be leaving the title -- but cryptically teasing that he wouldn't be going too far. Fontana has signed on to write five issues of the twice-monthly series for the heroine, beginning with July's No. 26, with a storyline that will introduce a new villain into the DC Universe. The move comes fresh off the success of her DC Super Hero Girls work. The artist for Fontana's first two issues will be Mirka Andolfo, whose work has previously appeared in the DC Comics: Bombshells series. Fontana and Andolfo's first issue of Wonder Woman, No. 26, will be released in comic stores and digitally July 12, with No. 27 to be released July 26. This time around, he got a version of the Steel powers -- and, as in the comics, it comes from Nazis trying to take out the JSA who inadvertently provide him with abilities. TO BE MARRIED TOMORROW - The idea that the beautiful girl he happens upon is set to be married tomorrow to the Shogun -- loosely translated as "Royal Ugly Dude" -- feels like the kind of thing that pops up from time to time in time-travel fiction...but Bill & Ted is the most obvious one for us. LOST - "If I've learned one thing from Lost, it's that you don't go opening secret hatches." This is one of a couple of not-so-subtle pop culture references this week. Typically those don't make the "Easter eggs" lists, but we're acknowledging more of them this year since last season we had lots of fans chiming in to let us know that we "missed" them in the comments. Obviously, that's a reference to the long-running network drama LOST, one of the big mysteries of which revolved around a hatch into an underground chamber which, rather than providing the answers the characters hoped, only resulted in more questions. 2056 - There are a few superheroes -- notably The Flash and Green Lantern -- who have spent time in the not-too-distant future quite a bit in their careers, but the year 2056 doesn't come up specifically in the comics. Where it does come up is in Young Justice, the animated series in which Barry Allen's grandson Bart (Impulse/Kid Flash/Flash) played a key role. In that version of the story, Bart comes from a future where The Reach has conquered Earth and travels back in time to join Young Justice, which in part could potentially help to alter that dark future. MASTER YODA - Of course, almost anyone would know that the reference to Ray Palmer's "sensei" Yoda, who shared the wisdom "do or do not; there is no try," is a nod to The Empire Strikes Back, in which the diminutive Jedi Master trained Luke Skywalker to harness the Force. THE SOULTAKER - It's established by the end of the episode that the young woman Nate wanted to help was pretty capable of defending herself under normal circumstances. She's from the clan Yamashiro, which if you don't recognize, you ought to. Not only did her descendant Tatsu Yamashiro and her husband Maseo recur throughout season 3 of Arrow, but Tatsu also appeared in this summer's Suicide Squad movie in her costumed identity as Katana. That sword? It's the Soultaker which, in the comics and in the Suicide Squad movie, absorbs the soul energy of the people killed with it. ARROW NEWS Marc Guggenheim reveals Ep 16 Title: Checkmate (Date: 19 Jan 2017) * The sixteenth episode of Arrow's fifth season has gone into production, and EP Marc Guggenheim has given some insight into what's coming up with a peek at the episode's title. * The episode is called "Checkmate," which Guggenheim assures us that it does not refer to the spy agency formerly run by Maxwell Lord and Amanda Waller in the comics.Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/19/arrow-episode-16-title-revealed-by-executive-producer/ ARROW SYNOPSIS TEASES PROPER INTRODUCTION FOR TALIA AL GHUL (Date: 14 Jan 2017) Titled “Second Chances,” the Feb. 1 episode will see Oliver Queen team up with Talia in flashbacks in an effort to defeat Russian government strongman Kovar. TALIA AL GHUL TAKES OLIVER UNDER HER WING — In his quest to take down Kovar, Oliver (Stephen Amell) gets help from a surprising source – Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig). However, when she reveals what she wants from him in exchange, Oliver isn't sure he can accept her help.Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-synopsis-teases-proper-introduction-for-talia-al-ghul/ Katrina Law On Whether ARROW Will Have A Nyssa And Talia Al Ghul Family Reunion (Date: 12 Jan 2017) Katrina Law's Nyssa al Ghul has yet to make an appearance in season 5 of Arrow but her sister, Talia, is set to appear soon, played by Lexa Doig. Does that mean Nyssa will be returning as well? Cinemablend recently caught up with Law to discuss her role in the Training Day TV adaptation from CBS but also asked about a possible Arrow guest spot. "There's always talk. Whether or not those talks will ever come to fruition is another matter, but I would love to have a reunion with Talia. I just think having the two sisters either fight side by side together or fight with each other would be epic either way. And then if we could somehow do some sort of flashback with Ra's al Ghul coming in as well… Let's petition to make that happen." But before you get your hopes up, Law cautioned that the shooting schedule for Training Day makes it difficult for her to get away to Vancouver, where Arrow films.Link:https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/arrow/katrina-law-on-whether-arrow-will-have-a-nyssa-and-talia-al-ghul-a148121 A New Female Vigilante Is Coming To Arrow (Date: 16 Jan 2017) Part of the synopsis for episode 11 states: “Meanwhile, Curtis (Echo Kellum), tells the team about a female vigilante, Tina Boland (Juliana Harkavy) he uncovered on-line who has been wreaking havoc all over the country.” Tina Boland… a vigilante with no code name. And the description of those who have seen her on the set is that she wears all black. Put that with the executive producer Wendy Mericle saying that Green Arrow needs Black Canary and the spoiler-ish trailer telling us that the Laurel Lance we've seen is the Earth-2 version… this is making people on-line question if Tina Boland will become the new Black Canary. Earth-1 Laurel asked Ollie to not let the Black Canary end with her. Only the Earth-2 Laurel solves the problem of the Canary Cry being natural, but having her go through a full redemption arc compared to bringing in a new character all together might make Tina the better choice. We know she ends up joining with Team Arrow against Prometheus… but will she do it in a familiar black outfit? Link:https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/01/16/new-female-vigilante-coming-arrow/ Arrow Will Have a Dolph Lundgren-Heavy Episode Set Mostly in the Russia Flashbacks This Season (Date: 17 Jan 2017) Action movie icon Dolph Lundgren will take center stage in an upcoming Arrow episode set almost entirely during the flashbacks later this season. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim told ComicBook.com that he and the writers were aware of the excitement fans have for both Lundgren and the Bratva flashbacks, as well as the additional social media attention on all things Russian just now, all of which makes the episode seem like a good way to fill in some backstory. "Russia is very much in the zeitgeist these days, and coming into the back half of the year, we're doing a lot more with Russia," Guggenheim told ComicBook.com. "We're going to do a Russia-centric episode, a flashback-centric episode like we did in the first three years of the show. We'll be doing that later on in the season and that will have Dolph Lundgren's character, Konstantin Kovar, very much front and center."Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/18/arrow-will-have-a-dolph-lundgren-heavy-episode-set-mostly-in-the/ Arrow Season 5 Extended Trailer - 'This Is Getting Good' (Date: 18 Jan 2017) The CW has just debuted a new trailer ahead of next week's new episode, and it focuses on the questions surrounding Laurel's sudden reappearance. After Oliver sees her, he begins to wonder if what he's seeing is real. The remaining issues surrounding Prometheus are still weighing heavy on Oliver and the team, and it sends him further into a state of disbelief. For anyone in that world, it's a difficult time to understand what's going on around you. In addition to the teasing of these complicated plot lines, the new trailer features a ton of action. In fact, we may be seeing some of the best action in the show's five-year run. The trailer ends with Wild Dog saying what many fans are thinking following the intense footage, "This is getting good!"Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/18/arrow-season-5-extended-trailer-this-is-getting-good/ Arrow Episode 16 Title Revealed By Executive Producer (Date: 19 Jan 2017) The episode is called "Checkmate," which Guggenheim assures does not refer to the spy agency formerly run by Maxwell Lord and Amanda Waller in the comics. Beth Schwartz and Sarah Tarkoff wrote the episode, which will be the directorial debut of Ken Shane, a veteran second unit director and assistant director who has not only worked on Arrow for years but also worked on Alien 3 and Tim Burton's Batman.Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/19/arrow-episode-16-title-revealed-by-executive-producer/ Title (Date: xx month year) SummaryLink:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/19/arrow-episode-16-title-revealed-by-executive-producer/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS KEVIN SMITH TEASES NEW ALIEN SPECIES IN SUPERGIRL (Date: 17 Jan 2017) A photo was posted to Smith's Instagram page and shows him sandwiched in-between two menacing looking aliens. Those aliens, you might remember, were teased in the “Supergirl Lives” extended trailer that the CW released the other day. As it turns out, that alien species has a name, and they are Maaldorians. It seems like this particular alien species was created specifically for this episode, so it's unknown what the aspects and abilities of them will be. Whatever powers they may possess, it seems like Supergirl can still take them down with no problem, as she punches one with no hesitation in the trailer.Link:http://www.cbr.com/kevin-smith-teases-new-alien-species-in-supergirl/ Neil A FLASH ALUM TEASES UNEXPECTED RETURN (Date: 16 Jan 2017) When a television series frequently features time travel, alternate timelines and alternate universes, a character's death doesn't necessarily have the usual feeling of finality. Central City Police Detective Eddie Thawne after actor Rick Consett announced today that he's coming back to The CW drama. How Eddie Thawne finds himself back in Star City remains to be seen. The show was recently renewed for a fourth season, and given the nature of the space-time continuum, the guest roles could keep coming for Cosnett.Link:http://www.cbr.com/a-flash-alum-teases-unexpected-return/ Michelle SUPERGIRL TRAILER TEASES RETURN OF LIVEWIRE AND DOMINATORS (Date: 13 Jan 2017) Fortunately, a new trailer for The CW's “Supergirl” marks the return of the heroine for the second half of Season Two with the Kevin Smith-directed “Supergirl Lives,” which sees Kara Danvers, played by Melissa Benoist, and Mon-El, portrayed by Chris Wood, traveling to another world to break up an alien slaver's ring. The trailer also teases bigger events down the road. Long-running “Superman” villainess Livewire, played by Brit Morgan, will make her return, and it looks as if greater emphasis will be placed on Jimmy Olsen's (Mechad Brooks) costume identity Guardian. Link:http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-trailer-teases-return-of-livewire-and-dominators/ Chris Legends of Tomorrow star Wentworth Miller talks Captain Cold's return (Date: 11 Jan 2017) After sacrificing himself in season 1 to destroy the Time Council and save the Legends, Snart (Wentworth Miller) is slated to join Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), and Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) in the Legion of Doom — and not just as a vision in Mick's (Dominic Purcell) head. How? Well, it is a time travel show, and it sounds like the Legion may be scooping up Snart from an earlier time. “My sense is that if Snart comes back into the storyline via his present day incarnation, then he's a straight up villain,” Miller tells EW — the actor was on hand at the Television Critics Association's press tour Wednesday to promote the return of Prison Break. “He hasn't gone on that first season Legends of Tomorrow journey yet, so when we meet him again — quote unquote alive in 2017 — I imagine that he's going to be much like when we first met him the first season on The Flash, which I'm looking forward to, because it means I get to arc to a completely different place.”Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/01/11/legends-of-tomorrow-star-wentworth-miller-captain-cold-return/ THE FLASH: THE FUTURE ISN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE IN EXTENDED TRAILER (Date: 17 Jan 2017) In this extended trailer for “Borrowing Problems from the Future,” the mid-season premiere, Barry and Cisco work backwards to prevent a future where Savitar kills Iris. HR Wells also toasts to Barry and Iris' relationship, and the team assembles to outsmart Savitar once and for all.Link:http://www.cbr.com/the-flash-barry-cisco-head-back-to-the-future-in-extended-trailer/ Michelle JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: DEADMAN REACHES OUT TO BATMAN IN NEW CLIP (Date: 17 Jan 2017) Batman is in for a nasty surprise. In a new clip from “Justice League Dark,” Deadman reaches out for the Dark Knight's help, but he may just cross a boundary or two in order to do so. The clip opens as Bruce Wayne prepares for a shave. As soon as he touches his razor to his face, though, an unseen entity creeps up behind him, and he appears to be completely oblivious to its presence. When he becomes aware of it, it startles him enough that he cuts his cheek, and the pain causes him to look away for a brief moment. When he looks back up, he finds a name scrawled in the fogged up mirror: Constantine.Link:http://www.cbr.com/justice-league-dark-deadman-reaches-out-to-batman-in-new-clip/?utm_source=CBR-TW&utm_medium=Social-Distribution&utm_campaign=CBR-TW&view=list Neil Kevin Smith Returning to Supergirl For Another Season 2 Episode (Date: 18 Jan 2017) Smith told ComicBook.com that he will return for a second episode this season -- the as-yet-untitled seventeenth episode of the season. Smith said that midway through the episode “Supergirl Lives”, producers started feeling out his schedule. Ultimately, they offered him episode 17, which he described as "sweet," saying that it was nice that producers liked the job he was doing enough to bring him back within the season.Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/18/kevin-smith-returning-to-supergirl-for-another-season-2-episode/?utm_source=Comicbook.com&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=170118_180220_Comicbook.com%20Daily%20Newsletter&utm_content=Link GREEN ARROW COMICS & TOY NEWS DC COMICS RAISES PRICE FOR MONTHLY REBIRTH TITLES, ADDS DIGITAL CODES (Date: 17 Jan 2017) DC Comics will raise the prices of 15 of its monthly “Rebirth” series starting in April, with cover prices increasing from $2.99 to $3.99.
