In this episode of The Busy Moms Kitchen, I am joined by my friend Amanda. We had such a great conversation and yes, as you see, this podcast is a bit longer than what you are used to here in my kitchen. But everything we talked about, I personally feel, needs to be heard and thought about. We talk about self care and how it doesn't always mean exercise or a trip to the spa. I really think you will like the ideas Amanda shares. We talk about some of the books we are reading and why its important to read something that takes us away from the craziness of today's challenges. And something I really enjoyed talking to her about was how she is helping her children, well, young teens, sift through todays news and understand what they are seeing, hearing and how to process it. How to form their own opinions and feel OK about it. There is so much more we talked about so grab your coffee or if you're listening at night, pour that bubbly mama and get ready for some fun girl talk! COVID COVID go away. I would like to...ummm, what can I rhyme with that? Either way, I am sharing my knowledge on meal planning with you today. After about 8 years with Super Healthy Kids, curating recipes and planning planning for hundreds, actually thousands, of members each and every week I consider myself and expert. There truly are many ways to meal plan and I hope to help you find your personal sweet spot. Today I am going to show you a pretty thorough way how I teach clients to meal plan by simply using paper. In the video version of this podcast you can see the printed sheets I am using. Although they are not the only ones I use, because everyone is different, you can reach out to me on the website and I can send a copy to you! There is also a great blog post explaining these steps if reading about it is better for you. You can find that post here. I hope you find this helpful and that you and your family are well! Even I didn't know what it was when I first heard about it at a fitness conference back in 2009. My second child was a bit over a year old and I remember how my stomach just wasn't the same. My belly button popped out making it look like a half "outy" half "inny." I learned how the abdominal wall could split and if not treated properly, it could continue to split and cause other complications like gastrointestinal issues, back pain, extended abdominal area and constipation. Diastasis Recti is no joke and for some it can be quite severe. My friend Stephanie is joining me in the kitchen today to share her story and how she finally came to the decision that surgery was the only way she could heal her diastasis recti. If you are looking for more information after listening to this episode, you can read my blog post here. Grab my diastasis recti resource page here.
