Hi Mamas, If you've ever started the week with big intentions… working out, meal prepping, spending more quality time with your kids, or finally getting ahead at work… only to watch the week fill up with meetings, activities, and unexpected responsibilities… You are not alone. Today, we're unpacking a simple but powerful productivity truth: “What gets scheduled gets done.” — Michael Hyatt For busy working moms, the difference between wishing something would happen and actually making it happen often comes down to one thing… Putting it on the calendar. When something only lives in your head or on a never-ending to-do list, it's easy for it to get pushed aside. But when you intentionally block time for it… just like you would a meeting or appointment… it becomes a real commitment. In this episode, you'll discover how scheduling your priorities can help you: Create better work-life balance Make time for exercise, planning, and family connection Stop reacting to your schedule and start leading your week Reduce overwhelm and mental clutter Build consistency around habits that support your well-being You'll also hear a simple challenge to help you start implementing this mindset right away. Because the goal isn't to pack more into your schedule… It's to make sure the right things actually have a place in your week. And tomorrow's episode will build on this by walking you through a simple weekly reset routine that helps working moms plan their week with clarity and intention.

Happy Spring! You know what this means? Summer is coming… and if you're a busy mom, you might already feel it creeping up on you. The school year is on its final lap, the kids are ready to sleep in, and suddenly your normal routines are about to disappear. The structured school days, the predictable schedules, the quiet work hours while the kids are in class — all of that shifts pretty quickly once summer begins. And while summer can be such a fun and meaningful season with a rhythm all its own, it can also feel a little chaotic if we don't plan ahead. Questions start popping up like: What are the kids going to do all day? How am I going to get my work done? Should we sign up for camps? When should we plan vacations? And how do we make summer fun without feeling completely exhausted by the end of it? If you've ever hit the last week of school and realized summer is now here and you still need to actually get work done then today's episode is for you. We are going to walk through 10 Things you can do now to set your family up for a smoother, more enjoyable summer. We'll talk about planning vacations and camps, creating simple rhythms for days at home, setting expectations with your kids, and a few practical strategies that can save you time and stress once summer is in full swing. My hope is that a little planning now will help you enjoy the season more later — with more flexibility, more fun, and a lot less last-minute scrambling. Alright friend, let's dive in. Quick Announcement: This week, March 13-19th I'm part of a super fun, outta-the-box kind of bundle, The Online Business Owners Pot of Gold. This is hosted by one of my favorite people Linda Sidhu. In this episode of the Chris Gates Fitness Podcast, I sit down with my client Kristen (“Kri”) to talk about her incredible health and fitness journey. Kri is a busy mom of two who has lost around 40 pounds, taken more than 6 inches off her waist, built muscle, and completely changed the way she approaches her health. But what makes her story so powerful is not just the weight she has lost. It is the way she has shifted from crash dieting, excessive cardio, and all-or-nothing thinking into a more sustainable lifestyle built around strength training, higher-protein eating, consistency, and patience. If you are a busy parent who feels stuck in the cycle of starting over, trying random diets, or wondering whether lasting change is actually possible, this conversation will show you that it is! Kri's story is a great reminder that real progress does not come from punishing yourself. It comes from building habits you can actually sustain. In this episode, host Jen Narciso sits down with Maja Taylor, a career ownership coach with over 30 years of corporate leadership experience, to explore how moms can build wealth through franchise ownership. Maja shares her personal journey from corporate burnout to entrepreneurial freedom, explaining why franchising offers a lower-risk path to business ownership compared to starting from scratch. She breaks down the entire franchise discovery process—from finding the right business model that fits your lifestyle and skills, to navigating funding options including SBA loans, retirement rollover (ROBS), and working capital strategies. Maja emphasizes that franchise ownership isn't just brick-and-mortar anymore, with virtual, mobile, and semi-absentee models now available across industries from senior care to consulting to home services. Most importantly, she reminds moms that they already have the leadership and management skills needed to succeed—they just need the right support system to make the leap.

If you feel like you're constantly doing something around the house—cleaning, resetting, organizing—yet nothing ever sticks… You're not failing. And your house isn't broken. You've just been trying to run daily life without the systems that support it. In this episode, I'm sharing the 3 home systems that change everything—because routines don't survive on motivation. They survive on structure: Drop Zones — where backpacks, shoes, mail, coats actually land Daily Reset — a simple rhythm that prevents the mess from compounding Responsibility — who owns what (not who helps when asked) Because when responsibility isn't clear… everything defaults back to mom.

Send me a textI've been so overwhelmed that I avoided something as simple as checking my email, then told myself “see, I don't have time.” In this episode, I'm breaking down the three lies your brain loves to tell you when you're overloaded: “I don't have time,” “I'll do it later,” and “If I can't do it perfect, it's not worth doing.” I walk you through what to say back to those thoughts so you can stop freezing and start moving again. And I'm sharing simple, real-life actions (like 10-minute timers, micro-scheduling, and “done is better” baselines) that help you get out of overwhelm without piling on more pressure. Mentioned in this episode:
Have you ever had one of those days where everything feels urgent? The emails. The laundry. The deadline. The permission slip. The text you forgot to respond to. The project that's been sitting there staring at you. You sit down to start… and instead of clarity, you feel stuck. Because where do you even begin when it all feels important. This is a question I find myself asking often — and I have a feeling you might be wrestling with it too. Where do you start when everything seems urgent? In today's episode, we're slowing that spiral down. I'm going to walk you through a simple, practical process to help you sort through the mental clutter and focus on what actually needs your attention right now. We'll talk about why very few things are truly emergencies, how to do a brain dump that clears your head, and how to sort your tasks into “Now, Later, Maybe, or No” so you can move forward with confidence instead of panic. I'll also share a few bonus strategies that can completely change the game — like knocking out 5-minute tasks immediately, matching your tasks to your energy level, saving distracting tasks for last, and asking the powerful question: Do I really need to be the one doing this? My hope is that this episode helps you feel less reactive and more intentional — not by doing more, but by choosing better. Let's dive in. The Farm Family TableâHomesteading, Homemaking, Christian Mom
Today we're talking about something that I think every homestead mom quietly wrestles with… how do you save time without lowering your standards? Because while homestead life can be beautiful and meaningful. It's not always easy or for the lazy. There is laundry that multiplies, bread to bake, food to preserve, floors that somehow always have dirt on them, and little people who need you all throughout the day. And somewhere in the middle of that, we start to feel the tension. We don't want to cut corners. We don't want to live on convenience food. We don't want our homes to feel chaotic. But we also don't want to live in a constant state of feeling behind. So what do we do? For a lot of us, we either: Try to do everything and burn out…or start quietly lowering our standards just to survive the season. And I don't actually think those are the only two options. I think what most of us are missing isn't motivation. It's not discipline. It's not even more hours in the day. It's systems. It's creating habits and rhythms so that we are not constantly starting from scratch. That's why today I'm going to share my best hacks for saving time, keeping quality, and still having margin at the end of the day. Thanks for listening! Today in History: Haman plotted his wicked scheme to kill all the Jews on this day (see Esther 3:13). Thanks to Queen Esther, the Jewish people were also given the right to defend themselves from their enemies on this day (see Esther 8:12–13). The Fast of Esther (Ta'anit Ester) is a short fast on the Jewish calendar that lasts from sunrise to sunset. It falls shortly before Purim to remember the three days Esther and the Jewish people fasted to be saved from Haman's evil plot (see Esther 4:15- 16).This week's portion is called Ki Tisa (When you count)TORAH PORTION: Exodus 31:18–33:11GOSPEL PORTION: Luke 1:26–38What verse spoke to you most today and why?Did you learn something about God?Daily Bread for Kids is a daily Bible reading podcast where we read through the Torah and the Gospels in one year! The Strong[HER] Way | non diet approach, mindset coaching, lifestyle advice
Send a textYou know the drill. Monday you're all in the workouts are scheduled, the meals are prepped, the alarm is set for 5 AM. By Thursday you've missed two sessions, eaten cereal for dinner, and you're already mentally drafting your "starting over Monday" speech.Sound familiar? You're not failing. You're stuck in a cycle that was never designed for your actual life.In this episode, we're breaking down why "good enough" fitness isn't a consolation prize it's actually the most strategic, sustainable, and sane approach to health for busy moms who are already doing a million other things at a very high level. If you're a high-achieving woman over 35 who has tried every program, followed every plan, and still feels like you're behind this one's for you.In this episode we cover:Why the all-or-nothing fitness mindset is keeping you stuck, and why it hits harder for high-achieversWhat "good enough" fitness actually looks like in practice (hint: it's more than you think)How to stop letting a missed workout derail your entire weekWhy consistency always beats perfection when it comes to long-term resultsHow to build a sustainable fitness routine that works around your real life not the life you wish you had (or you used to have before kiddos)What your kids are actually learning by watching your relationship with exercise and foodThe mindset shift that changes everything: measuring yourself against your own life, not someone else's highlight reelWho this episode is for: This episode is for the busy working mom who is killing it in every other area of her life and somehow still feels like she's failing at fitness. If you've ever thought "I just need to be more disciplined”, I want to offer you a completely different frame.Key Takeaways:Good enough fitness is not mediocre fitness. It is sustainable fitness.
