It's way too common for therapists to feel confused and frustrated with their model. Many counselors feel like their models work for some but feel hopeless with certain clients. Worst of all is when therapists feel like a "rent-a-friend" instead of a catalyst for change. I'm Dr. Jordan Harris, and I help therapists move from "lost" to "confident" by mastering the meta-skills of clinical excellence. My approach isn't about learning another model—it's about knowing when and how to use the tools you already have to create deeper, more transformative emotional encounters. In my trainings, we focus on four key pillars: Motivation: Working with (not against) client resistance. Persuasion: Engaging clients so they show up hopeful and ready. Experiencing: Moving past surface-level talk into deep emotional work. Body Language: Reading non-verbal cues for true clinical attunement.

We talk about proactive homemaking, responsive homemaking, tiny tasks that actually matter, and why noticing and responding might be a more realistic standard for home management than trying to maintain perfect systems. In this episode:Reactive homemaking is not automatically chaotic or irresponsible. Join the 2026 free summer joy challenge for moms! What if rest wasn't something you had to earn, but something you were simply allowed to need? Whitney connects with Scottie Durrett, motherhood and lifestyle coach, who offers an honest look at why exhaustion and overwhelm are so common in motherhood, and what we can do to shift out of survival mode. They unpack the pressure moms feel to "do it all" and how that mindset can leave us stuck in a cycle of exhaustion, resentment, and disconnected from ourselves. Scottie shares how having small, intentional moments of awareness can help moms reconnect with ourselves. She gives us the tools we need, like tuning into our body's signals to setting boundaries within our families, and remembering that our kids' experiences aren't tied to our self-worth. This is the kind of episode that truly feels like a deep breath. If you've ever felt like you're constantly pouring from an empty cup, Scottie gives us the reminder that we don't have to wait for permission to take care of ourselves. It's time to let go of the myth that we have to be the "perfect mom" and start embracing the real and present version of ourselves. Here's what you can look forward to in this episode: The belief that we as moms have to always be busy Breaking the cycle of mommy martyrdom and fostering independence in our children Using busyness as a mask for discontentment and the dopamine hit of productivity Reframing rest as a tool and not a guilty pleasure The negative impact of tying our self-worth to our children's achievements and experiences Reflecting on your own happiness, independent of your children's performance Having small daily check-ins with your body Learn more about 1:1 coaching with Whitney - book a 15-minute Spark Session Connect with Whitney: Instagram l Website l 5 Days to Less Stress, More Satisfaction l Tend to Your Soul Toolkit l 10 Soulful Journaling Prompts | Electric Ideas Podcast Connect with Scottie: Instagram | Website | Momplex Podcast

In this episode, she shares her go-to high-protein meals that have 8 ingredients or less, take under 10 minutes of actual effort, and leave you with barely any dishes. In this episode you'll learn: The simple 4-part formula for every balanced, satisfying meal Why decision fatigue, not laziness, is the real reason dinner feels so hard How crockpot and sheet pan meals can save your weeknights Why frozen vegetables are just as nutritious (and so much faster) 3 actual go-to meals Brooke makes on her hardest, most chaotic mom days Eating well doesn't require a Pinterest-worthy kitchen or a culinary degree. It just has to be simple enough that you'll actually do it, even on the hard days.

What if the secret to fewer power struggles, better behavior, and a stronger connection with your child isn't another parenting hack—but play?In this episode of The Running Wine Mom, Samantha sits down with licensed therapist, registered play therapist, professor, podcast host, and author Dr. Kim Van Dusen to discuss her new book, Parenting Through Play. She also offers simple play-based techniques that can be implemented immediately, even by busy, exhausted parents.Whether you're raising toddlers, navigating the tween years, or supporting a neurodivergent child, this conversation is packed with practical tools that can help bring more peace and connection into your home. Is time really standing between you and freedom with food?"I just don't have time for a program like this.” Sound familiar? That's that little voice in your head trying to keep you safe—but it's actually keeping you stuck. Have you ever considered that binge eating isn't just a food problem, but a "time thief" quietly stealing your life's most valuable resource? In this week's episode, we're shifting from the "Problem Frame" of being too busy to the "Solution Frame" of how you can actually "manufacture" more time by mastering the right tools. I share the story of my student Hannah, a busy wife and mother who was convinced she was tapped out on time. But once she focused on the right skills, the ripple effect was so huge her friends started asking, "How do you have 28 hours in a day?" Imagine waking up with that kind of presence and intention instead of heavy food noise. We're also pulling back the curtain on the "unknown threats" to your productivity: the hours spent feeling sluggish, sleeping off a binge, or beating yourself up. You'll learn why willpower feels so heavy and how to swap it for the "unconscious competence" of three core skills: self-compassion, flexibility, and commitment. This episode is the perfect lead-up to the 90 Second Craving Reset…my brand new free 5-day live experience. Remember, time is going to pass anyway. The only question is: will you spend it stuck in the cycle, or will you invest 5 days to gain back a lifetime of peace? Did you enjoy the episode? Summer break is here, but let's be real, mama , it's not just a break, it's a setup. If we're not intentional, our kids can fall into habits that are hard to break, too much screen time, no structure, and days filled with just “passing time.” And while rest is important, idle time without direction can lead to lost learning, poor habits, and unnecessary exposure. In this episode of the Pursue HER Podcast, we're having a real conversation about summer learning loss, idle kids, and why structure still matters, even when school is out.And listen, this is not about being the perfect mom. This is for the mom who is working, managing a household, and trying to figure it all out without a big budget or a full summer plan.I'm giving you practical, affordable, and realistic strategies to help your kids stay engaged, continue learning, and actually grow this summer.Because your kids don't just need a break, they need direction.
Why do kids struggle so much with time management — and why does it often turn into stress, meltdowns, and constant reminders for moms?In this episode, Lori sits down with Mindy Hudon, a speech-language pathologist with more than 30 years of experience helping children with communication and executive function challenges. Mindy is the co-owner of Achieve Speech & Language Services, the creator of the Bee A Time Keeper® clock, and the award-winning author of Kodi's Adventures: How I Learned to Defeat the Time Snatcher.Together, they discuss: Why many children are “time blind” How executive function impacts planning, transitions, and routines Why kids may not actually be ignoring you How visual tools can reduce anxiety and help children self-manage The connection between ADHD and time management struggles Practical ways moms can teach kids independence without constant nagging Simple strategies to make mornings, transitions, and routines easier If you've ever felt frustrated trying to get everyone out the door on time, this episode will help you better understand what's really happening — and give you practical tools you can start using right away.
