I go into detail about I don’t believe Colleges have education in mind, how they only want your money, how investing in yourself doesn’t always mean getting a degree and much more. Questions to ask yourself: -Would you ever invest $50,000 into something that doesn't have a guaranteed minimum return? -Would you invest heavily into something just to get a job? I discuss my 2cents and thoughts on the things we grow into knowing, the things we are forced to learn on our own and who I think should be teaching us things vs who actually taught us them. Most importantly I will be discussing common sense, expanding on how it seems to not be so common, and what are the things I think should be common sense. I discuss how I think there is a fine line between life skills and common sense because everything has to be learned but certain things lean more towards skills while others are more knowledge based. I dive deep into the information that the big tech companies like Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Apple have about you, reading the privacy agreements, clearing your cookies (no not the ones in your pantry either), and giving my 2cents on what to do to stay safe on the internet. It is amazing how little we know about ourselves but how much "The Internet" knows about us. I hope you guys enjoy! I give my 2 cents on how social media has become such a staple in todays society that so many people are trying to determine the impact of it on our society and its immeasurable due to all of the types of social media platforms. From connecting friends, to posting pictures, to fake news, to dating, even learning a new skill social media has impacted all of us in some way shape or form. What a lot of people don’t understand is that even though social media is bound to impact us we are in charge of HOW it impacts us. I talk throughout the episode on how social media is a highlight reel, how I think it has impacted society and my life specifically, along with random two cents. I also want to mention that after episode 25 I will end season 1 of tjs2cents and begin season 2 with brand new episodes later this fall. I want to ensure the best quality content in hopes that you’ll continue listening so I hope you guys enjoy.
I give my 2 cents about how too many people are spending a lot of their days on phones or being distracted by their phones. Whether it is taking 15 minutes to choose the right selfie to post on instagram, scrolling through Facebook or twitter feed, Watching youtube or netflix videos non stop the list goes on and on. I give my 2 cents on how to use your phone to be productive and not kill productivity. Make sure to follow me on all my social media handles! Only 4 more episodes until the end of season 1. I give my 2 cents on how how putting in the hard work will always lead to success. Whether that success come in the form of school, your career, your relationship, your fitness journey, food, or even something as little as mowing the grass. Without putting in work none of these things would be possible. It seems to me that as a society we have been very keen on wanting things to happen very quickly or with the least amount of work involved so we can go home and watch netflix or hulu and hang with our friends. I truly don’t understand how as a society we have become so anti work. It seems younger people are pushing for shorter work weeks but higher pay, longer breaks etc. I discuss how we need to realize that instant gratification isn't real and we will be much happier knowing we completed something we struggle with. Wealth is a journey, not a destination. It is more than money in the bank and possessing expensive items. You will gain money and you will spend it. You will earn it and lose it. Being rich is when you arrive at a place where you are able to be content with and manage what you have — no matter how much or how little. Being rich is a state of mind and a place of peace that is not greedy and constantly reaching for more. It's a journey of contentment. And that journey doesn't happen overnight. Our rapidly moving, information-based society badly needs people who know how to find facts rather than memorize them, and who know how to cope with change in creative ways. You don’t learn those things in school. We need to learn and find things rather than knowing and memorizing information that doesn’t impact our day to day functions and increases our world as a whole. I discuss 16 things in slight detail and hope to ignite conversations amongst those listening. Let me know your two cents on things you wish you had learned at school! It’s a windy day and the pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. What do you currently do? I discuss how I want to CRUSH pessimism, preach realism, and discuss why being optimistic isn't terrible but sometimes can become overwhelming. I give my two cents on the difference between real and fake friends. I go in to detail with how to tell the difference between a genuine friendship, and one that may not necessarily be healthy and perhaps destructive and even fake. Many of us have a desire to connect with others, and finding those with similar interests makes us feel a sense of being whole, in that we have someone who just gets us, even sometimes without any spoken words. However, the truth is, while many friendships can be intense, long-lasting, and even extremely helpful for personal growth, others can be destructive and can cause more harm than good. No matter the topic, no matter your age, race, gender, etc headline readers are a cultural and society issue. The access to so much information in todays society at our fingertips just statistically means that there will be a larger amount of misinformation than that of previous times. This episode I tell you why headline readers are slowly but surely causing mayhem in our society, why you should always check the facts before sharing articles, how easy it truly is for people to run ads against particular demographics of people on social media all by using the information that you give out, and why you should never share or comment negative things because the more reactions a post gets the more it pushed to the top of your feed .
In this episode I try and explain how looking at purchases a little more in depth before buying is very beneficial and how if you can't get the financial side to make sense just stop. Too many people purchase things due to emotion or to show off for others even without thinking things entirely through. These things can include clothes, shoes, food, electronics or even things like cars, houses, boats, etc. It truly amazes me how these purchases can take place without a second thought!
