As far as Dana Gould could tell, he had been awake for 11 days. He logically knows that this was probably medically impossible but even if he had slept, he had no memory of doing so, which is pretty significant right there. This incident and the hospitalization that followed it is just one part of Dana's mental health journey. He talks about growing up in a family where alcohol was a strong presence and a comedy industry where drugs were everywhere but Dana didn't drink or use drugs. Dana also shares the story of being on stage for a standup comedy set and having a debilitating panic attack on stage and relates what fatherhood has taught him. - Dr. Neeta Bhushan is a cosmetic dentist turned three-time international best-selling author and world-renowned emotional health advocate. She is also the founder of Global GRIT Institute, a wellness education platform for optimizing wellbeing, and cofounder of Dharma Coaching Institute, a coaching organization training coaches to become the highest versions of themselves. Neeta has shared her thought leadership on grit and resilience on international stages and as the host of her popular podcast, The Brave Table. After realizing how trapped she felt running the million-dollar dental practice she built, Neeta embarked on a journey that led her across 45 countries as she researched blending the intersection of human behavior, ancient wisdom, Eastern philosophy, and therapeutic psychology. That knowledge, along with other life experiences overcoming multiple adversities, which include being orphaned at a young age, surviving an abusive marriage, and extensive loss, contributed to the powerful message of resilience she shares in this book. Life can be extremely challenging at times, throwing hurdles and obstacles at us that often seem insurmountable. But if you can acknowledge ‘the suck' and find a way to sit in the discomfort, then you will have a better chance at regaining your joyful spirit! This episode explores themes of domestic violence and dealing with severe loss, please listen with care. Today's guest, Dr. Neeta Bhushan, has endured unfathomable loss and hardships to come out the other side better and stronger, whilst helping others realign with their purpose, too. We hear of her extraordinary upbringing, which saw her lose her mother, father, and brother all before she turned 20 years old. Dr. Neeta explains the immigrant philosophy in which she was raised, how she approaches spirituality, how she dealt with the loss of three family members when she was a teenager, and how those losses nudged her toward a career in medicine. We also hear about her transformative trip to Rome before our guest opens up about how an abusive marriage affected her, and how saying yes to almost everything after her divorce helped her regain her passion for life. Turning our attention to Dr. Neeta's new book, That Sucked, Now What?, our guest defines ‘the suck,' how we can embrace it, and what it means to be in ‘the thriving stage.' Finally, the remarkable Dr. Neeta Bhushan tells us how her definition of success has changed over the years, what her relationship with her family is like today, and the wondrous moments she has witnessed as a result of those around her embracing their suck!

Happy Monday everyone! How was everyone's first Sunday without football? We will be honest...it kind of sucked lmao. Our replacement for the NFL was that horrendous NBA All Star game. That game has just gotten worse and worse over the years as well as the other "events". What the NBA needs to do is make a 1 on 1 tournament king of the court style! Any who lets dive right into the episode, first on the slate is sadly the NBA All Star game... Is it even really a game though? There is zero defense, it isn't split by conference, there's a point total to hit. It just is no longer fun to watch when players are just walking up and down the court. What are your thoughts on what All Star Weekend has become? With this next one we are going to discuss some teams on the cusp of a playoff birth in both conferences. Each conference has a few teams from the 7-10th seed that could very well make the final two spots. Who do you have making the 7th and 8th seed for the Eastern and Western Conferences in the NBA? Time for some NFL NEWS! Former Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy has accepted the job to become the OC for the Washington Commanders. Is this a smart move to leave Kansas City? Should he have waited until he got a head coaching offer? To wrap it up we are continuing our 3 things teams need to improve for next season. Today's teams will be the New York Giants and the Jacksonville Jaguars! Both playoff teams fell short in the divisional round, what do you think they need to improve? As women in business, we've often felt the stigma that showing emotions = weakness. With the emergence of so many powerful women in leadership roles both in corporate settings as well as entrepreneurial roles, it's time to lay that stigma to rest. There's a new era of businesswomen - and they're not afraid to show their emotions. Which is why Kristen is speaking with fellow author and business owner Neeta Bhushan. Neeta's new book That Sucked. Now What? focuses on emotional growth and how to find the magic within the chaos that is life. Here are a few key notes you won't want to miss: Neeta's story of hitting rock bottom - a cautionary tale, so you don't have to How refusing to feel emotions can keep you from healing Importance of removing judgment Why people-pleasing can hold you back from emotional growth Lessons we can learn from toddlers and their emotional outbursts As Neeta says, it's the greatest liberation - to feel our feelings. When you dumb down your emotional responses, you're doing yourself a great disservice. Give yourself permission to work through those feelings. Embrace them - and use them as a guide to get to the next level. Neeta's new book, That Sucked. Now What?, Is on shelves now! Oftentimes, if viewed through the right lens, beautiful opportunities can arise from horrible tragedies.Join Natalie for this heart-filled conversation with Neeta Bhushan, author of the new book, That Sucked. Now What? The title says it all about what Neeta is sharing with the world – her wisdom and insight on getting over the hard moments in life, of which, she's overcome many. But it wasn't all bad – all the time, which is part of what makes her story so unique. If you're struggling with the “sucky” moments in life or navigating major change, this is the episode for you – we can all learn from her honesty and deep personal insight.Highlights:How motherhood changed Neeta's definition of being “tough” after losing her mother, brother, and father all before she turned 19.The day her life shattered in a million pieces – and how she used “The Bounce Factor” to pick them back up. How to practice leaning into discomfort to build resilience (so when the big things happen, they won't seem so big).Links:Shop Neeta's new book and affirmation cards — That Sucked. It's wild to be entering a new year, isn't it? I love the feelings of new beginnings, a clean slate, that fresh start… But this year? It feels different. Not in the “this will be my best year yet” sort of way, but more like “I wonder what this year will hold for me.” I haven't been shy in sharing that I'm in this season where I don't exactly know what's next and so my approach for this coming year is mirroring that feeling and I'm doing things a bit differently. Am I nervous? A little. Am I scared? Not really. Do I feel unsettled? Yes. So here's what I'm hoping for in the new year (and it just might surprise you!)
