Hosted by Allysa Rochelle, Vulnerable Podcast explores vulnerabilities as strengths and not weaknesses. Each episode I invite a guest to speak on how they have managed to turn some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives into powerful learning experiences, and we explore how these experiences have developed them spiritually and contributed to their wellbeing practice. We are often encouraged to shy away from our vulnerabilities, here you don't have to do that, my hope is that these episodes resonate with you, and you find strength in your vulnerabilities too. He is one of the wisest people I know and so I just had to get him on the podcast. In this episode I spoke to Papa B, about redefining the way he approaches fatherhood. Being of Nigerian heritage he was raised by a strict father, and not encouraged or supported to explore his emotions, which stunted his growth as a man. We explore repairing generational traditions, diving deep into the uncomfortable spaces and sitting still in your pain, leading by example, and surrender. It's a wonderful episode. We're so grateful for you sharing your time with us. @Iam_papab
This episode features, musician, writer and actor Jordan Stephens. We speak about the emotional dangers of hyper-masculinity, the effect of it on women, sex and relationships. For the final episode of season 2 of Vulnerable Podcast, I wanted to share an interview I did with Selina from Project Love earlier this year. I spoke about the sexual abuse I experienced, living in a cult as a child, being in a coma at 19 and all of the spiritual lessons I've gained on the way. Selina gave me the opportunity to tell my own story in its entirety for the first time in my life and it was such a simultaneously scary and liberating experience at the same time. Thank you so much Selina for creating the safe space for me to tell my story. x Link in Bio

Where do I begin? The Cherry Revolution is a movement which raises awareness and sparks honest conversations ranging from sex-positivity, mental health, sexual abuse, to advocating for more thorough sex education in schools. I sat down a few months ago to talk about sex and it was one of the most vulnerable episodes I have ever recorded. Having experienced sexual trauma, it has been hard to have what I now know to healthy sexual relationships in my adult life. This episode gets deep, we speak sexual trauma, self pleasure, culture, and feminism. Donna is one of the Co-founders and facilitators of The Bridge Retreat and has been working with individuals, couples, and groups for over twenty-five years. She originally trained as a social worker, specialising in child protection and worked extensively within this and related fields for ten years. Donna is passionate that the route to healing is by recognising your grief and then processing it, and I completely agree. I know many people that have experienced loss, trauma, and pain, but I can count on one hand how many people I know that have taken the time and created the space for themselves to really grieve the losses so that it can help them to live a fuller life. Ask yourself, are you able to breathe, does your heart beat? Do you need food and water to survive? If you have answered yes to any of the above, then I implore you to create the time to listen to this episode of Vulnerable Podcast, and then maybe you can start to think about how processing your trauma in the future. Naomi Jane is an entrepreneur coach and a keynote speaker amongst other things and the guest for our latest @vulnerablepodcast episode on Boundaries vs Barriers. I was inspired to record this episode and speak to Naomi about boundaries after hearing her on another podcast and subsequently following her on instagram. After speaking to her briefly I quickly realised that I had put up barriers that I actually thought had been healthy boundaries, and so it became incumbent on me to record this episode, as my intuition told me that some of yall may be dealing with the same things. Gail Loveshock joins us in episode 6 sharing her journey on surrendering to her divine purpose. She’s an interfaith minister and is a gifted clairsentient. If you’re thinking what is an interfaith minister, it is a minister who respects all spiritual paths and honors the Divine wisdom in all faiths. You might just gasp at the costly lessons she’s experienced, by being stubborn and (sometimes) hard-headed by not listening to her spirits calling. It made us think, if and when we are called, are we really willing to hear? Gail has been through a tremendous amount of pain to fully walk on her true path. It has to be said that no lesson has been wasted, and her resilience and courage is nothing short of astounding. We got deep real quick, so pull up a chair for this episode, it’s pretty intense! Leona Nichole Black is an academic, tarot card reader and a spiritual Mentor, she is currently studying for her PhD, her thesis being, ‘beyond the problem of blackness’. So here we have an academic who does not shy away from mysticism and for that reason alone I had to interview her. Recording this episode with @LeonaNicholeBlack was one of my favourite podcasting experiences so far. We spoke about demystifying tarot from academic and religious perspectives, we got into how tarot has played a key part in our lives, and we spoke about our birth chart placements in relation to our personalities. In this episode with Emilyne Mondo, we get down to talking about finding your tribe. Emilyne is a model, actress and activist. What a tribe means to you, may hold completely different meanings to another. Ultimately, your tribe is a “collective” of people, who value and nurture you to be your best self and vice versa. Your tribe are most likely to evolve and change, as we develop and refine who we are over the years. We discuss with Emilyne, what happens if we outgrow them, what then? How do we maneuver ourselves around the situation. We discuss ways on how to manifest your “true” tribe regardless of your personal background, and how to feel connected to the core of you. We are all deserving of strong friendships, whether the bond is for a lifetime, a year or less. They all (small or big) shape us into who we are today, and serve it’s higher purpose. How do you find your “tribe” or do you just let the universe work it’s magic? Let us know, by using the hashtag #vulnerablepodcast or comment below. Rachael Maddox is a trauma resolution educator, coach, and guide who’s helped hundreds of women and men resolve their sexual trauma and reclaim their pleasure, power, and wholeness. In this episode, I asked Rachael for some advice, on the healing process from experiencing sexual trauma. When we talk about trauma, there is no healing equation to say we’re healed. There isn’t a “one size fits all” answer to this question either. What matters is honouring your journey of healing, and reconnecting with your body and feelings. The content in this episode can be quite triggering, and so we suggest that you listen in a safe space, and also listen in stages if you need to take a break. Saschan Fearon-Josephs founder of “The womb room” talks to us all about womb healing, which includes and is not limited to: educating and supporting women with reproductive problems, workshops, joining forces with schools and community centres and providing business support to employers who wish to provide a better working environment for women with reproduction problems. What is endometriosis? “It’s a chronic and debilitating condition that causes painful or heavy periods. It may also lead to infertility, fatigue and bowel and bladder problems. Around 1.5 million women in the UK are currently living with the condition”- www.endometriosis-uk.org We share our own experiences with our bodies, from painful periods and diagnosis to deciding the range of contraception that’s available and the adverse effects it had. We also discussed Saschan’s experience in a gynaecological ward at the age of 19, and it’s nothing short of shocking. Navigating the dating world alone is a trip, but also having a chronic gynaecological illness makes it that more complex. This episode is therapy, for those who are fertile, infertile or for those going through health problems. It’s a delicate topic, but we’re so glad to open up this conversation. As a collective, we should aim to take away shame and guilt. This patriarchal society has conditioned us to keep our stories closed, and out of sight. It’s okay to take a break. In this episode, spoke to Lucy Sheridan, about White Women and White supremacy. Inspired by Leyla Saad’s blog post, ‘I need to talk to Spiritual White women about race - which was initially brought to my attention via Lucy’s Instagram. Layla Saad sets the premise of calling ‘white people in’ for these types of conversations instead of ‘calling them out,’ as there is a great deal of learning and healing that can be done. We talked about; Complicity within White Supremacy (Keeping it cute and mute) White Privilege White women in spiritual work and teaching Munroe Bergdorf and L’Oreal The Generational Wound of racism Diversity Plus much more This is a conversation that I have wanted to have forever and so I’m so grateful for Lucy contributing her time to the podcast. Lucy Sheridan is based in Brighton and is the world’s first and only comparison coach. For this episode I spoke to Moonchild Indigo, about situationships. For those that have never come across the term before this is how Google defines it; "A situationship is basically a pseudo-relationship. A placebo masking itself as a formative relationship. It smells like a relationship, it sorta looks like a relationship, and it may even feel like one, but it's not." We looked at how to identify that you're in one? How it affects your spiritual health, and ultimately how to heal afterward. We both shared stories of our messiest situations too! Amber is an intuitive psychic and card reader. P R O T E C T -Y O U R -M A G I C . This episode we speak on, 'How to protect your magic whilst dating...' We define 'magic' as being all the special things that make you, YOU! Your essence, pride, personality, and boundaries etc. .. . . . Unless you're part of the minority that engages in long-term relationships very early on in life, it's more than likely that during your dating career you may find that there is a constant battle to not lose all aspects of yourself, whilst simultaneously trying to fall hopelessly in love with someone that should be the one right???? . .
