Kylie Pentelow is joined by Dr Kate Cook, co-author of Rape Crisis: Responding to Sexual Violence, and Lee Eggleston, long-standing chair on the board of Rape Crisis England and Wales and who works on the front line of a rape crisis centre. Are you an introverted parent to extroverted children? Over 1 billion people worldwide are obese, according to the World Health Organization. If current trends continue, half the world could be obese or overweight by 2035. The WHO refers to it as an epidemic. Recent data shows that over 40% of Americans are living with obesity. But obesity is not just a problem in Western countries: In China, rapid economic growth has been accompanied by an alarming rise in obesity. There have been major changes to lifestyle, diet and exercise habits. Recent data suggest that more than half of Chinese adults are now overweight or obese, with obesity rates likely to increase. In India, obesity is spreading and experts warn of a health emergency unless it's tackled urgently. Recently new injectable weight-loss drugs have emerged that show promising results: Wegovy is an obesity treatment that is taken once a week which tricks people into thinking that they are already full, so they end up eating less and losing weight. The drug was approved by regulators in the US in 2021. It was also approved for use in the UK on the national health service earlier this year after research suggested users could shed more than 10% of their body weight. But it's an expensive drug and in trials, users often put weight back on after stopping treatment. If action is not taken, more than half the world's population will be classed as obese or overweight by 2035, the World Obesity Federation warns. More than four billion people will be affected, with rates rising fastest among children, its report says. Low or middle-income countries in Africa and Asia are expected to see the greatest rises. What policies should governments put in place to curb obesity? What are the wider systemic factors that contribute to unhealthy eating and obesity? What can be done to tackle the global obesity epidemic? Shaun Ley is joined by: Dr Binayak Sinha, an endocrinologist with a special interest in obesity and diabetes. Rachel Nugent is associate professor at the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington. Dr Fatima Cody Stanford studies obesity at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in the United States. Grace Victory is one of those people who just draws you in — she is utterly compelling. So, it was a total pleasure to have her join Anna in the studio to offer some advice to a listener who is struggling with intimacy following a previous trauma. Having experienced trauma herself — both in her early years, and more recently — Grace generously shares her own story and the wisdom she's gathered on her own healing journey. With the assistance of super psychotherapist, Sam Pennells-Nkolo, Grace and Anna discuss the listener's dilemma, consider its echoes with Grace's story, and ultimately share advice on how the listener can begin to confront her challenges with intimacy. They also consider the contested question of young children and screen-time, and what gifts to buy for a new mother. This episode is powerful and amazing, but Grace's story does cover heavy topics such as abuse, domestic violence, eating disorders, anxiety, sexual assault, and depression. So please approach the episode with care. … Have questions about sex? Divorce? Motherhood? Menopause? Mental health? With no topic off limits, Anna's here to prove that whatever you're going through, it's not just you. If you have a dilemma you'd like unpacked, visit itcantjustbeme.co.uk and record a voice note. This week’s episode I am joined by Grace Victory who is one of my favourite people ever. Grace is a blogger, writer, TA therapist in training and is all about multidimensional wellbeing. Back in September Grace joined me for a live recording of the podcast and since then we’ve stayed in touch via text but hadn’t really had a catch up face-to-face since so this was a great excuse for a recording with her. And we all know so much has changed within the world with the cover pandemic and uprising of Black Lives Matter movement, which have effected us all emotionally and mentally. So it was great to get Grace back on the podcast to discuss what she’s been up to and her learnings in lockdown. What I always love is Grace’s honesty with herself and her emotions, particularly when she shared a really vulnerable moment towards the end of this episode which she hasn’t mention publicly before. During this conversation, we spoke about: Dealing with feelings of guilt Life going back to normal after lockdown Developing romantic relationships in lockdown Healing from deep trauma If there is someone you feel would benefit from hearing this conversation then please make sure you share it with a friend who would enjoy listening and really take something from it :) thedreamersdisease.co.uk (http://thedreamersdisease.co.uk/) Follow Grace: IG: @GraceVictory Follow Alex: IG: @iamalexmanzi Twitter: @iamalexmanzi

In this episode of "My Beauty Habits" I'm joined by documentary presenter, content creator and author Grace Victory.Grace and I have a great chat about how therapy is changing her life, the things that she does each morning that set her up for the day ahead, beauty products that she adores, her hopes and ambitions and a really exciting project that she has just launched.Grace is one of the most honest and open people that I have interviewed on the podcast and I instantly warmed to her. Enjoy xx
