Welcome to May's moments of the month; a show where we round up the highlights of all the episodes of the past month so you can have a nibble at all of them and see if they take your fancy. May 2025 in the studio we had Kae Kurd, Jeff Innocent, Jordan Stephens and Adam Buxton. Please enjoy this new monthly taster show. This won't change our normal shows released as usual every Wednesday (or once every seventeen days for our listeners on Jupiter). If you've already listened to all these episodes by the way there's nothing new really apart from some little bits and bobs in-between the excerpts from the existing episodes. From Rizzle Kicks it's the fabulous Jordan Stephens, and his brilliant things are brilliantly wide-ranging. What's the greatest ever TV show intro theme? The answer is in here, as well as some mind-expanding discussions about the profundity of vegetables.
On today's episode of The Therapy Crouch, Abbey and Peter are joined by the ever-entertaining Jordan Stephens—one-half of Rizzle Kicks, author, and all-around creative force. Jordan gets candid about his journey through heartbreak, therapy, and self-discovery, revealing the deeply personal experiences that shaped his new book. From toxic breakups and wild retreats to Brazil, to the unbreakable bond between humans and their dogs, Jordan's reflections strike a perfect balance between raw emotion and hilarious storytelling. The trio also dive into the quirks of modern relationships, road rage-induced meltdowns, and the age-old debate over serving food on wooden boards. Plus, in the Agony Abs, Abbey and Peter tackle a listener's relationship dilemma about a boyfriend who acts single in public—red flag or just a different love language? If you want to submit an Agony Ab to the pod, hit the link below!https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rAKDST4HU_8al_aWpOlys3TRJrWvDV-84piVdlOOjU4/edit 00:00 Introduction04:22 Balancing Boundaries07:03 Staying Sober13:17 Keeping Creative16:46 ADHD20:43 Weekly Whine Club24:59 The Truth Hurts32:47 Book Club37:39 Agony AbsTo contact us: Email: thetherapycrouch@gmail.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetherapycrouchpodcast/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/ @thetherapycrouch Website: https://thetherapycrouch.com/ For more from Peterhttps://twitter.com/petercrouchFor more from Abbeyhttps://www.instagram.com/abbeyclancyOur clips channelhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZntcv96YhN8IvMAKsz4Dbg Hosted on Acast. To celebrate 2024, we're taking a look backwards, and diving into the standout thinkers who have taken to the Intelligence Squared stage in the past 12 months. You might still be on the hunt for that perfect gift for the avid reader in your life, or perhaps you're after some food for thought over the festive period. Either way, this 12 episode mini series will highlight the books that shaped 2024. We hope you'll join us in 2025 for more events that intrigue, fascinate and entertain. Jordan Stephens' life during his teenage years and his twenties was a whirlwind. As one half of the hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks, his days were full of success, fame and adulation as Rizzle Kicks' debut sold over 1 million singles and 600,000 albums in 2012. But for Jordan, success brought pain in its wake: a hidden pattern of self-harm, hedonism, destructive ideas of masculinity, and heartbreak. Diagnosed with ADHD, he was always chasing the elusive feeling of love and continually found himself distracted and derailed by drugs, drink, sex and chaos. After his world imploded, Jordan chose to step away from his previous life completely and allowed himself to finally explore the pain he'd repressed his entire life. His new memoir Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak & Dogs unsparingly digs into the fear, tenderness and trauma he carried. And it examines the confusing assumptions and contradictions about what a man should be that Jordan – and increasing numbers of young men today – struggle with. Jordan came to the Intelligence Squared stage in August 2024 where, in conversation with comedian, satirist, actor and Instagram sensation Munya Chawawa, he reflected on his own life experiences as he explores how we can encourage men to have a healthier and more loving conception of masculinity. Jameela welcomes musician, actor and new author Jordan Stephens (Rizzle Kicks) for an open examination of modern masculinity, intimacy, and hope after heartbreak. Jordan speaks honestly about his anxiety in relationships, how social media distorts to a hyper-reality, and how putting time into reconnecting with himself and his community has helped him discover how to be a modern man. Jameela & Jordan also ponder some important questions about hypermasculinity and what could be contributing to the rise of men's violence.
