What if your birth chart held the map to your growth, your healing, and your soul's purpose? In this heart-opening conversation, Ally Maz sits down with astrologer, psychotherapist, and spiritual guide Debra Silverman to explore the intersection of astrology and psychology — and how the stars can illuminate who we are, why we struggle, and how we can move forward with more compassion and clarity. With over four decades of experience, a Master's in clinical psychology, and a deep love for astrology as “medicine for the soul,” Debra brings a blend of wisdom, humor, and spiritual insight to this conversation. She's worked with celebrities like Sting, Madonna, Aaron Rodgers, Shailene Woodley, India Arie, and Julianne Hough — but her greatest gift is helping anyone feel seen and understood. Debra is also the author of The Missing Element and the upcoming I Don't Believe in Astrology, host of the podcast by the same name, and founder of a school that has taught over 7,000 students through her unique 4-element approach to astrology.Together, Debra and Ally explore the high and low sides of our personalities, the power of intuition, and the importance of understanding our charts as tools for self-acceptance and personal growth. They talk about the energetic shifts ahead (yes, even what's coming in 2025), the quiet return of astrology into modern culture, and why young women especially deserve guidance that reconnects them with their emotional truth. This episode is a reminder that resistance is part of growth — and that being seen, understood, and aligned is possible. Tune in and let the stars remind you who you truly are.Episode Resources: Connect with Debra on InstagramBuy Debra's book hereDebra's WebsiteDebra's Astrology SchoolAlly Maz: Instagram / WebsiteThe Ally Maz Show: Apple / Spotify Hosted on Acast. Remember that time you slammed your hand in the door? I heard you screaming obscenities for days. And depending on how it happened, it might have stung for a minute or caused you pain for a week. But imagine your hand didn't heal. Instead, it revealed you were slowly being ambushed by a silent killer. Act One to a new story you never saw coming. This is Susan Jackson Lee's story, and it ends on a cliffhanger.Susan grew up in a military family as the only daughter in a family full of men, where unsurprisingly she learned the values of discipline, timeliness, and hard work. Her father didn't believe women should be doctors or become successful on their own – he was old-fashioned like that. But this upbringing also taught her the value of never taking “no” for an answer – or as she puts it, “a no meant a yes for me”.She went to college and, unlike most of her classmates, was specifically interested in sales. Because she was usually the only person in line for sales jobs at the recruitment fairs, getting in was easy. And since then, Susan has grown in her career from a salesperson, to a manager of a federal business, all the way to vice-president at an Interior Design organization.Along the way, Susan met and married her entrepreneurial husband, started a family, and was fortunate to be healthy and fit. It seemed like she had everything going for her, and everything was fine. But Fine is a 4-Letter Word, and one day everything slammed to a halt – literally. One day while out running errands, Susan jumped out of her car and accidentally slammed the door on her hand. OUCH! I wince just thinking about this! She got a tetanus shot, but her hand wasn't healing. So she got an MRI, followed by a diagnosis of…Lung cancer. How could this be? Susan didn't smoke or drink, she ate right, she took care of herself, and she was disciplined about her health. Lung cancer?!?In a moment, when you meet Susan, you'll be stunned and amazed by the many lessons she learned while going through treatment, going into remission, and picking up the pieces of her life. Along the way, she let herself go to hell on purpose and got the idea she was about to lose her job, but she didn't. At the time of our recording though, she had just given notice at her job. What's up with THAT?!?Susan's hype song is "A Beautiful Day" by India Arie.Resources:Susan Jackson Lee's LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/susan-jackson-lee-5878a13 Susan's new website: www.field2futureconsulting.comInvitation from Lori: Let me ask you, if there was a simple way to reclaim your peace of mind and not feel so frazzled, would you want to know what it is? Enter the “10 Proven Habits Top Leaders Use to Stay Calm and Focused Every Day” checklist — your quick guide to creating calm, intentional days. These practices are so incredibly simple, you'll probably question their effectiveness. Like, how could just doing THAT alleviate my stress?! But take my word - and all the science and research that's been done on these methods - implementing even ONE of these strategies will absolutely change your ability to manage your energy, embrace change, and foster resilience. PLUS, you want to cope with the distractions in your mind so you can stay focused and achieve your desired results? THIS checklist will give you the direction to do that. Oh, and lastly, it isn't about perfection or doing ALL the things all at once. It's about taking each small step toward progress, one at a time,...

While he still appreciates R&B and Pop, his heart roots back to the soulful melodies of country.Hailing from a simple country area, not too rural but far from packed, Dawson's love for country music has been a lifelong passion driven not by the pursuit of fame but by a genuine desire to make a living doing what he loves. He began singing at the tender age of three, often caught in his diaper singing along to Waylon on the radio. In 2019, at the age of 17, Dawson signed a deal, marking a significant milestone in his budding career.

Chic with Nile Rodgers, People, CNN, ABC, BET, FOXMusic & Munchies is My Show Theme This Week: Soul Snacks Cookie Company!Music for this Segment: CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers - Let's Dance(Live At The House Sídney 2013)Everyone wants to be a leader in a world where people don't often possess the experience or expertise to be in the lead. That is gained from mastering the skills and learning to follow. Ralph Rolle is a prime example of learning to follow becoming born to lead.Ralph followed his older brother in learning the drums, but that he led him to becoming a premier musician, who has created music with everyone from super producer Nile Rodgers and his iconic disco/R&B group Chic, pop legends Sting and Bono, the 1st woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Aretha Franklin, hip-hop giants Biggie Smalls and Queen Latifah, jazz superstar Chris Botti, the queen of Neo-Soul Erykah Badu, Vanessa Williams, soul crooner D'Angelo, songstylist India Arie, Lady Gaga, Dolly Pardon, Bono, Roger Daltry, John Legend, Joss Stone, Elvis Costello and playing in the resident band for N.B.C. ‘It's Showtime at The Apollo' for over 15 seasons. Ralph has also served as the musical director for syndicated “The Caroline Rhea Show” and he served in the same role for Japanese R&B/soul superstar Toshi Kubota.Ralph took the time, any time he had the time, to stop and cook and enjoy life. It helped him to come down from the tension and time on the road that was always in motion. Cooking, another gift he received from his mother, gave him the peace of mind he needed to slow down and breathe. And in learning his way around the kitchen, he started to bake. hat stayed with him and when he was hanging out with his musician friends, he would have his signature cookies. At first they laughed, but quickly the request became “please bring those cookies with you!”Over time, his cookies found their way into the hands of clients such as Westside Market, Franks Market, and many more. Good Morning America host chose Soul Snacks for her holiday gifting in 2011. In 2015, Bette Midler and Ralph met when Nile Rodgers and Chic were the guest artists and Ms. Midler's annual Hulaween Charity event. Ralph had his “cookie calling card” with him. Ms. Midler loved Soul Snacks so much that she placed orders for her family and friends. Soon, he was selling his cookies at Melba's, a legendary soul food restaurant in Harlem. The orders poured in and soon, he was featured in CNN, BET, ABC and FOX networks, in New York Times newspaper and in The Source and Vibe magazines. From there, Ralph gave birth to “SOUL SNACKS.”SOUL SNACKS offers a variety of delicious cookies such as Georgia Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Peanut Butter, Down Home Double Chocolate Chip, Ebony and Ivory Almond Cookie, Grampy's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie, French Cocoa Chocolate Chip, Miami Raisin Walnut, Chunked Up Chocolate Walnut, Cranberry Oatmeal Raisin, Joyful Gingerbread and the most recently added, but now #1 seller, Sweet Potato Cookies. “Inside of every cookie is years of heart, soul and lots of pride that has been the main ingredient of SOUL SNACKS Cookies for over a decade.” All Rights Reserved © 2024 Building Abundant Success!!Join Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASSpot Me on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yxuy23baAmazon Music ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy: https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

Original Air Date: July 17, 2019In a live appearance at UCLA's Royce Hall, Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter India.Arie reveals the five most important lessons she learned after she hit rock bottom. India.Arie uses what she calls "songversation" to beautifully describe her journey from breakdown to breakthrough. "Songversation is not a concert," she explains. "It's not a lecture. It's not a performance, even. Songversation is a practice that is part meditation, part prayer, part fellowship and part action." At the height of her fame, India.Arie says she snapped under the unrelenting pressure of the music business. At age 35, she made the bold decision to take a hiatus, rethink her life and start over.
