2021 was the year of my (mini) professional crisis. There were big decisions to make, and I was feeling deeply confused about the direction I wanted to grow in professionally & with our school. What kind of business (& life) did I want to have? Did I want to blow up my creation? It took me a long time to find a mentor to help me navigate what was right, for me. I wanted someone who worked in deeply embodied ways. Someone who would support me if I decided to throw in the towel & make the decision to destroy my creation. And also someone who was a little bit magic.  Somehow (I think it was the power of Instagram) Rachael Maddox entered my life. She'd just closed her own Coaching School down (to begin a conception journey) and was making some radical changes in her business model. She was EMBODIED AF. And supported CEOs. We started working together - and I've loved her since. Recently I spoke with Rachael as part of our The Future Is Embodied Conference. Our conversation was a dive into the ethics of embodied business & how Rachael navigates her work as a witch & mentor. It was such a rich conversation I wanted to bring it to you today, in the hopes you find some “unconventional” courage to follow your path (whatever that is) to the best version of your work in the world. Of course, I didn't close down our school, or decide to blow anything up in the end. Which is what I love so much about EMBODIMENT work. It's an invitation to find YOUR body's truth. Which won't look the same as anyone else. What's right for you won't be right for them. But holding space for ALL the possibilities, even the wild & witchy ones remains something I hold as so valuable. Recorded in the Spring of 2022, so much has since happened in both my and Rachael's lives. So much has evolved. This episode is a testament to the beauty of trusting change. Change comes to bring us an opportunity to grow in wisdom and depth. Change comes to bring us an opportunity to parse, understand, see, and love ourselves a little more deeply. Change comes to bring the outer structural shifts that are needed in order to support our inner evolutionary cycles. Honor the change happening in your life. Honor the disintegration. Honor the parse and the parts that make themselves evident on the other side of change. Trust your wholeness, your seasons, your body, and cyclical time enough to know that goodness is coming. Integration is coming. Joy is coming. Truth is here. About Rachael Rachael Maddox is a seasoned guide to healers & CEOs, as well as a 2-time author, podcaster, DJ, and full-blood witch. Her work for the last 13 years has centered around facilitating personal and collective post-traumatic growth, and as such, Rachael has taught hundreds of coaches, therapists and guides the art and craft of safe and effective trauma resolution. Our main theme of focusing on small steps on to intentional create what you desire will remain the same, but there's going to be way more depth, truth, and mysticism in this show. This podcast is all about the process of creative emergence and what's possible when we tap into the power of our imagination. I'll be telling stories of visionaries from past and present timelines, old wive's tales (folklore), myths, and bringing on guests who are in their creative expression. My prayer is that as you listen to the episodes you find yourself in one of these stories and come into connection with your own creative potential. Note: Visionary Architect is a term I️ learned from my trauma resolution coach, Rachael Maddox. You can check out her work here: https://www.rebloomtogether.com

Rachael Maddox is a trauma resolution educator, coach and guide who's helped hundreds of humans move from sexual, complex or developmental trauma into pleasure, power and trust-filled relationships. I really wanted to have Rachael on the show today to talk about the possibility of trauma resolution as a rite of passage.  Rachael is a gifted map-maker for the terrain of embodied healing and of what it means to alchemize traumatic experiences and wounds into power and potential. Our conversation starts with Rachael's own story of taking up the initiatory call to heal.  We talk about how taking up that call, for so many of us, asks us to move from a place of "rebellion and blame" to "responsibility and creativity."  Rachael shares with us, in detail, a map of embodied healing based in nervous system regulation and orienting to pleasure, joy, and "our natural blueprint of health."  She also gives us a brief glimpse into the archetype-based model of trauma resolution she has developed.  (It is brilliant, and I totally want to know more!).  Finally, we talk about what it means to rest + digest after a time of major change – that it is natural for us to contract after a period of expansion, and that this can be challenging in a culture that doesn't make it easy to rest and recalibrate. Rachael generously shares ideas and resources throughout our interview that I know you will be able to use in your own life.  Make sure you grab a pen and journal for this one!  I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Hello My friends, today is a fun filled podcast that you don't want to miss! My guest host this week is Jenell Consorti. Jenell is a speaker, coach, massage therapist, and breathwork facilitator. In this episode Jenell talks about fear and how our bodies hold onto trauma and it is stored in our nervous system. After trauma we often experience what Rachael Maddox has called an" embodied violation hangover." This reference is similar to a typical hangover you would have after a night of too many skinny margaritas....BUT! The difference is that instead of alcohol making you feel iky it is the fear of a traumatic event that is stuck in your body and these feelings tend to last a lot longer that 24 hours.During this podcast Jenell talks about her own struggle with fear and anxiety and how she would wake up and not feel okay after her traumatic experience. In her yearning of wanting to feel okay again she was able to find peace by releasing her trauma and beginning her journey of healing through breathwork. You will learn that if you change your mindset and release your fears by conquering what triggered it in the first place, you can then begin to release this negativity from your body and start to be happy again. This episode is a conversation on why you’re not doomed by your past relationships, with my friend and Alchemical Divorce Coach & Transformational Guide Kimberly FiNix. It’s relevant to all sorts of relationships which have ended, from short flings to divorces. I asked Kimberly to cover this topic with me because we’re both divorced, have lived this wisdom in our own lives, and both get all excited talking about shame. She is also the empress of guiding womxn through the end of a relationship and its aftermath. You’ll hear us explain why we don’t like to call them “failed” relationships, even if the challenges associated with them were spectacular. We also share some of our own personal experiences. We talk about: . The pattern of ignoring and suppressing your own needs . Having compassion instead of shaming yourself for what happened in your relationships . Learning to trust yourself again to make solid choices . Non-negotiables vs. normal compromises . How understanding trauma patterns can help you have compassion for yourself or a partner . How previous experiences with a partner could impact on your sense of worthiness This conversation is full of permission and space to be imperfect, to not have it all figured out, to be learning through trial and error. For context, we don’t talk in depth about abusive relationships. Some of our conversation is relevant, but it’s not my personal specialty, and there’s a lot more to be said about abuse which we haven’t covered here. Kimberly FiNix is an Alchemical Divorce Coach & Transformational Guide for womxn. Her mission is to help womxn navigate the portals of divorce & relationship transition with strength, confidence, and a clear vision for their next stage of life. Kimberly's holistic approach combines modern coaching & mindset work with body-based practices and somatic trauma resolution techniques. Her work bridges the mind and body, resulting in transformation that's both healing and sustainable. Kimberly's professional training spans the realms of embodiment work, somatic trauma resolution & integration, neuroscience & female sexuality. She brings the benefits of both formal training and the experiences of a long personal journey of healing mind, body, and spirit. Kimberly is a certified VITA Sex, Love, & Relationship Coach. Her studies include Tantric & Taoist techniques for emotional freedom and sexual healing with Layla Martin, she's a long-time mentee of EMPATH*ology founder Lola Pickett, and she's currently studying the ReBloom method of trauma resolution with Rachael Maddox. Kimberly's offerings are designed to enable womxn experiencing divorce & relationship transition to use their connection with their own bodies as a source of wisdom, strength, and emotional resilience in times of transition. She provides one-on-one coaching to womxn who are ready to rise on their unique Phoenix Path. Future offerings will include group courses and retreats. How do you know what to ask for? How do you explore your own interoception? Think of a simple checklist of things you like and want to feel Even when it’s heavy, bring some light and joy into your healing process!

In this episode, I asked Rachael for some advice, on the healing process from experiencing sexual trauma. When we talk about trauma, there is no healing equation to say we’re healed. There isn’t a “one size fits all” answer to this question either. What matters is honouring your journey of healing, and reconnecting with your body and feelings. The content in this episode can be quite triggering, and so we suggest that you listen in a safe space, and also listen in stages if you need to take a break. The Numinous Podcast with Carmen Spagnola: Intuition, Spirituality and the Mystery of Life

Rachael Maddox is a trauma resolution educator, coach and guide. In this conversation, she shares with us her Map of Reclamation and a generous amount of psychobiological and theoretical information about what trauma really is. Rachael generously and gently takes us through 7 core trauma wounds, what the hyper- and hypo-araoused responses (ie: inner escalation or collapse) can look like, what a more regulated (grounded, calm, empowered) response might feel like, and how we can find our way back to health and wholeness. It's an excellent overview and there's so much value offered here in her model. Rachael includes Digital Isolation as a core trauma for our age and we explore the notion of re-villaging as one potential antidote. Naturally, since we're talking about trauma in general, it's very common to have specific, personal examples come to mind – likely some part of this will be very relatable for most people. Remember to go slow: it takes the body a little while to metabolize this kind of information. Press pause, take breaks, fast forward. Listen to your body as you listen to our voices. And remember that we're real people. You can always book in with either of us if something comes up that you'd like to explore. If you'd like to go deeper with Rachael, she has a free video series called Becoming A Grown Goddess that includes topics like Trauma 101, Boundaries & Belonging, Sex After Trauma, and more. This conversation may only change your life a little bit, but it will definitely be powerful. It changed something for me and I was the one interviewing her.  This is something every single woman needs to know and was by far one of my favorite conversations ever. I had Rachael on my podcast earlier this year and she continues to blow me away with her fierce, yet gentle and sensual spirit.  She's bringing a very important message to the women of the world: sex after trauma.  Many women that I speak to or work with in my courses or coaching have experienced some kind of trauma, myself included. It can be scary to think about having sex or experiencing pleasure (both sensual and sexual) after experiencing some kind of traumatic event, regardless of who or what caused the trauma.  Rachael shared so beautifully in this conversation and I found myself being opened, encouraged and invited to see things with a new perspective. I could literally feel some of my deep wounds and old beliefs coming to light as we were talking.  A few ancient pieces snapped into place within me as we went deeper into our discussion around sexual trauma and why sex after trauma is such a key piece in a woman's erotic and sensual journey. You're definitely not going to want to miss this episode. I was surprised and delighted so much throughout this conversation and I felt my heart opening in new ways that can only happen when you allow yourself to be held in the love of a woman who has been there.  In this podcast episode Rachael and I discuss: Signs that you may be experiencing sexual trauma in your body Why she's focusing on sex after trauma  How to begin experiencing sex & pleasure again after trauma What a sexual shadow is (I was totally surprised & blown away by Rachael's share) How to practice saying no to reduce anxiety in the bedroom & life (Rachael leads me through a rather vulnerable, but super powerful practice) And soooo much more!

Since our first interview back in February 2016, today's guest has become one of my closest friends. She is one of the people I trust most in the world with the intimate details of my own healing, and a person who I learn from constantly. In this interview we talk about what it feels like to be on the other side of trauma in sex, and that YES, it is totally possible to heal from sexual trauma. We talk a lot about needs, connecting to your needs, asking for them, and honoring yourself and others around getting them met. We explored anger not being bad, safe love and intimate belonging, and what needs to be reclaimed to get to a place of healthy and safe sex after trauma. If you’ve been following the media in the States, there’s been a big and important conversation going recently on about sexual abuse against women.  Rachael’s work on healing sexual trauma speaks directly to this issue and peels back the curtain on how to move through it. I learned SO much in this interview with Rachael.  She’s smart, passionate, and deeply committed to helping women heal.  She tells her story with honesty and courage.  And loads of hope, which I so appreciated. In my previous career as a school counselor, I had the profound honor of supporting several teen girls through sexual trauma.  Helping women speak up in all areas of their life is my heart’s work.  I wish I’d had these resources to share with them at the time, but I’m so grateful to at least be able to share Rachael’s valuable tools now. *DISCLAIMER: If you’ve experienced sexual trauma, or this conversation triggers you in anyway, take care of yourself.  Stop listening to it, take some deep breaths, get help if needed.* We talk about: Her definition of trauma (“embodied violation hangover”) The ABCs of trauma resolution (there’s hope!) Her personal journey with trauma and how she healed Building a “wide base of support” Waking up from “trauma spells” and tools to release Returning to sensuality after trauma (and her new book Sex After Trauma) The #metoo movement (and being careful with it) More about Rachael and her work: Rachael Maddox is a trauma resolution educator, coach and guide who dedicates her days to helping women who’ve experienced sexual trauma unshame and reclaim their pleasure, power and wholeness. In her first book, SECRET BAD GIRL, Rachael tells the story of her return to wildness, sensuality, health and embodied safety. Her next book, SEX AFTER TRAUMA, is publishing February 2017, and the KICKSTARTER goes live in December. On a fierce mission to help as many women as possible who’ve experienced trauma, Rachael offers one-on-one support, groups, and courses for women who are ready to dance hard with life. Want to get involved and help? The world of sex can be intimidating in general, but if you’ve experienced sexual trauma, it can be downright terrifying. In Rachael Maddox’s new book, Sex After Trauma, she demystifies a safe and sacred reclamation process. Stories, strategies and science for life between the sheets when you’ve been through the worst of it.  Rachael’s kickstarter campaign is now OPEN. My own inner archetype of the secret bad girl. This woman who initiated me into looking at my secret bad girl is Rachael Maddox. My secret bad girl had unknowingly been longing to be seen, heard and accepted fully so this book came into my life at the perfect time. She was begging for my attention, but I wasn't listening. Until I gave her a voice. Until I listened to her, saw her, witnessed her. Until I was willing to play with her, dance with her, hold her, soothe her, give her my love and attention. If you've been struggling with a part of you that feels like she's bad, dirty, naughty, unwelcome, slutty, misbehaving or needs to be a "good girl" and "behave" then you're going to love this episode of the podcast. I remember back in the day always being told things like this... Pull your shirt down! Pull your pants up! Stop pulling your dress up! Stop touching yourself like that! Close your legs! Sit like a lady! Be a good girl! Behave! Sit down, be quiet, hush up! Can you relate? Deep down we all have different aspects of our sexuality and sometimes our erotic innocence can be misused, abused, manipulated or encouraged to be hidden, changed or repressed. This is where the concept of Secret Bad Girl comes in and I'm so excited that Rachael and I got to talk about this. Here's what we dive into in this juicy conversation: How to connect with your Secret Bad Girl & surprisingly what she needs from you How you can bring love & attention to her in a way that she actually needs How to use your secret bad girl to heal & release trauma What it takes to become a grown goddess (plus some yummy practices to help you!) What trauma is & how to begin healing it on a body level How you might be caught under a “trauma spell”

O'actually: Focusing on female pleasure and what turns HER on!

Rachael Maddox is a healing force. I credit an interview I did with her for the first season of the O’actually podcast for catalyzing my own healing journey. I am tremendously thankful to her. Rachael has wisdom for you too. In this in-depth conversation, we get real about how to come back home to your body and find joy in sex. Buckle up, you’re in for a memorable and powerful ride. Rachael Maddox is the recent author of the book "Secret Bad Girl" in which shares her own journey. Subtitled "How I broke my long-standing sexual trauma spell and grew vibrant, vital & free. A provocative memoir & wildly wise resolution guide," her book relays her story, and offers insights on how anyone under the trauma spell can reach full recovery. Rachael is a coach, a singer and songwriter, and a teacher, plus she's funny, real, and so genuine. While it's a tough topic, we both laugh plenty and share how joy really IS possible, even after living through a traumatic event (Rachael's past trauma being sexual trauma, mine being PTSD related to childbirth). In this episode, Rachael outlines some of her findings in researching how to resolve sexual trauma. She shares that trauma is something stored in the body, the result of a person's fight, flight, or freeze response not being fully resolved after the initial trauma incident. In her work, which involves extensive coaching, training, and research, she's found that resolving sexual trauma is something best done through somatic (body) work. Her approach is heartfelt, genuine, and something she's lived through. Rachael had a successful kickstarter, and her book is now available for download on Amazon starting 1/19/16. In this episode, Rachael talks about: - what trauma is, and how it remains in your body long after the trauma event - the definition of a trauma spell or trauma cloud - different kinds of trauma, such as post traumatic stress disorder and rape trauma - Rachael's path to healing, which started at Adult Circus camp - suggestions for addressing trauma in your own life - Rachael's Dream Tour around the US this last summer - her song, "live" on the podcast, "Shake" - where I fess up about one of my core desired feelings being "enraptured" and Rachael's insights on how rapture means to "be your longing" - the Celestine Prophecy of Everything (Rachael's take on her role in the world) Resources: Rachael's website at RachaelMaddox.com Sign up for the 12/22/15 webinar episode to work on your 2016 goals Episode 10: Molly Larkin (I reference this in the interview) Peter Levine's book, Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma (on Amazon) Danielle LaPorte's book The Desire Map: A Guide to Creating Goals with Soul (Core Desired Feelings) (on Amazon) The post Episode 14: Secret Bad Girl: A Journey of Sexual Trauma Resolution with Rachael Maddox appeared first on Jump Start Your Joy.
