I'm thrilled to welcome Nicola to the podcast! As a Coach, Coach Trainer, Certified Coach Supervisor, and experienced Creative Strategist, Nicola takes a strategic yet heart-centered approach, creating holistic solutions by examining the bigger picture and understanding how the various systems of our society intersect. In this episode, Nicola shares how her experiences have shaped her approach to ambition, both within and outside of money-making. Tune in for valuable advice on taking a holistic approach to ambition, its impact on everything from sales to daily life, and what it means to balance the personal, professional, and beyond.   You can find Nicola at: https://www.alifemoreinspired.com/ Or on Instagram @nicolaraewickham   QUOTES   ‘I think in line with looking at ambition is looking at our definitions of success. For me, a definition of success is being able to do the school runs. That is very personal and that's a definition of success, as well as income goals being a definition of success, as well as being able to go on adventures. Whatever it is, there are these bigger ones and these smaller ones.”   “What has worked before isn't going to work going forward   “I have learned that I can really trust my business and I can really trust my work. I can trust myself. Life can be happening and things can be going on and with the right support, you can still show up and deliver.”

Hi lovely, It's Selina here this week with a deep, inspiring and juicy conversation for you all about finding your voice, with the queen of heart-felt expression, Nicola Rae Wickham.I've known Nicola for a number of years now and every time I sit down in a conversation with her, whether it is just between us or recording a podcast episode to share, she always brings a depth, warmth, wisdom and power to it that leaves me inspired and moved and this week's conversation has to have been the most powerful to date. In case you don't know Nicola, she is an award-winning coach and mentor, founder of ‘A Life More Inspired' and host of the ‘Dream and Do' podcast. In her own words she is ‘on a mission to help big-hearted (deep thinking and big feeling) creatives find, use and amplify their voice and make a real WHOLEHEARTED and positive impact in the world.'And wow, does she lead by example. Over the past 18 months I have witnessed Nicola step into her power in a whole new way, find her voice and use it to make a positive impact both in her business, her own life and the world around her.In this episode we talk about: Finding her voice in business and how she learnt to attract her ideal clients Finding her voice and speaking her truth as a black woman during Black Lives Matter and ever since The healing power of speaking your truth The importance of being discerning around WHO your share your truth with Why people-pleasers in particular struggle with finding their voice Tips on how to start practicing speaking your own truth We also used the conversation as a chance to reflect together on each of our healing around racism over the past year, the work we have both done with Nova Reid to help us with that healing and what we are each committing to doing moving forward to carry on with that healing. I am so looking forward to you hearing this conversation. If you enjoy it, please leave a 5 star review for us. On this week’s episode of Period Story, I had a fantastic conversation with Nicola Rae-Wickham, the founder of A Life More Inspired. Nicola talks about the importance of being authentic, the power of imperfection and shares her fertility story. And of course, Nicola shares the story of her first period! Listen to hear Nicola share the story of the very unusual pre-class protocol her PE teacher used that led to her realising she had her first period. She says that she took it all on the chin.We talked about Nicola’s journey on and off the pill and how a suspected PCOS diagnosis led to a discovery that changed the way Nicola approached her health, wellbeing and mindset. This changed the way she approached her next pregnancy. Nicola says she went into trying to conceive the second time with a mindset of trusting, surrounding and feeling really full and whole. She says that she had to trust that her life was enough, whatever the outcome was.Nicola says that we are enough and that moving away from the trap of perfection helps us understand where we can strive to be imperfect. She says it’s so freeing to be able to rock up and trust what you know and who you are. Together Selina and Nicola talked about… * How Nicola got into the work she does today (because how DO you become a creative mentor that brings people’s dreams and creative businesses to life?!) * Nicola’s own personal challenge of knowing how to ‘just be herself’ and what it was like 20 years ago in the workplace as a black woman feeling that she wasn’t _allowed_ to be fully herself. * How owning the parts of you that you feel shame around, helps you to own yourself fully and unlock parts of you that you couldn’t access before, like inner peace and joy.  * The brilliant event on ‘Wellness and Wealth’ that she put on recently at Reuters with the wonderful Tamu from Live Three Sixty  * And why we really do all need to start looking at wealth as a part of our overall wellness  Juicy juicy juicy! Oh and this episode was recorded literally days before Nicola gave birth (so it was done via Skype, rather than the studio).  Congratulations to you Nicola on your beautiful baby girl!  For more of Nicola’s love and wisdom head to her [website](https://www.alifemoreinspired.com/) and [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/alifemoreinspired/). x Vicki and Selina
