National School Counseling Week is Jan. 31st through Feb. 6th and in today's episode, Mrs. J and Mr. LD tell you a little about their journey to school counseling and what they love about working with middle level students.
Mrs. J and Mr. LD give parents tips on talking to their tweens and teens about the current events surrounding politics, covid-19, climate, election results and more. These things can be unsettling to kids and they look to you to make them feel safe and secure. It can be hard to talk about these things but it's worth it.
In Episode 10, we give a preview of our upcoming January counseling lessons. In 6th grade, we'll earn about Character and how having a strong sense of self and purpose can help you through hard times. In 7th grade, we delve into healthy relationships and why it's important to set healthy boundaries for interacting with people in dating, family, and life.
Today we share topics from our December Counseling Lesson. Sixth graders are learning about Connection, the 3rd C of Resiliency; and 7th graders are learning about Stress Management.
