Today's West Coast Cookbook & Speakeasy Podcast for our especially special Daily Special, Blue Moon Spirits Fridays, is now available on the Spreaker Player!Starting off in the Bistro Cafe, Trump had a late-night panic attack over Dark Brandon's energetic State of the Union, and there was a glaring contradiction in Scary Britt's GOP rebuttal. Then, on the rest of the menu, Alabama Republicans pushed through an anti-DEI bill and a limit on absentee ballots; Oregon passed campaign finance reform that limits contributions to political candidates; and, a bill on DeSantis' desk would allow Florida public schools to make use of Christian chaplains on campus. After the break, we move to the Chef's Table where Turkey struggles to stop violence against women after at least seventy-one have been killed so far this year; and, voters are being asked to change Ireland's constitution that says a woman's place is in the home. All that and more, on West Coast Cookbook & Speakeasy with Chef de Cuisine Justice Putnam.Bon Appétit! The Netroots Radio Live PlayerKeep Your Resistance Radio Beaming 24/7/365!“Structural linguistics is a bitterly divided and unhappy profession, and a large number of its practitioners spend many nights drowning their sorrows in Ouisghian Zodahs.”― Douglas Adams"The Restaurant at the End of the Universe"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/west-coast-cookbook-speakeasy--2802999/support.

President Trump waves smugly at the U.S.-Mexico border to the migrants on the other side of it. Plus, the authors of 'White Rural Rage' go on a bigoted tirade to promote their book on MSNBC, and I'm sitting here thinking, 'Geez! I know my pale self's lack of melanin is offensive to the eyes, but is it really a threat to democracy, too?' And finally, Alabama Republicans are snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory by passing a law to roll back the historic pro-life victory we saw at that state's Supreme Court regarding embryos and IVF.Guests:Edward Ring | Senior Fellow, California Policy CenterJeremy Carl | Author & Senior Fellow, Claremont InstituteDr. Shea Bradley-Farrell | President, Counterpoint InstituteJim Nelles | Author & Supply Chain Consultant

Alabama Republicans have told teachers unions to stay out of their school-related elections. The Alabama Republican Party recently voted to ban GOP candidates for the Alabama Board of Education, local school boards, and county school superintendent from accepting donations from teachers unions.John Wahl, chairman of the Alabama GOP, says the change was needed to ensure that parents, and not special-interest groups, have control over their children's education. “There's only one purpose that these education unions exist, and that's to lobby for their facet of the education system,” Wahl says. “There's only one reason school boards and superintendents exist, and that is to put forth the policies that regulate the school systems, so it's a direct conflict of interest.” Wahl joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to explain what this change means for protecting parental rights in Alabama. Wahl also weighs in on the priorities of Alabama voters and what we can expect at the first GOP presidential debate on Aug. 23. Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast.
