The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 3: 5:00pm- On Friday, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka alongside Congressmembers Bonnie Watson-Coleman, LaMonica McIver, and Rob Menendez visited the Delaney Hall Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in New Jersey—at one point trespassing which led to a confrontation with ICE officials and the eventual arrest of Mayor Baraka. ICE has released bodycam footage of the altercation which shows Rep. McIver attempting to physically shove past ICE agents. Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez threatened Republicans with retaliation if Democrat lawmakers are charged with crimes for their involvement in the Delaney Hall incident. 5:20pm- During Wednesday's House Homeland Security Committee hearing, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) got into a heated exchange over the deportation of illegal migrant—and accused MS-13 gang member—Kilmar Abrego Garcia. 5:30pm- While promoting his new book, “Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,” CNN's Jake Tapper revealed that a White House physician informed then-President Joe Biden's aides that he might require the assistance of a wheelchair in his second term if he were to continue falling. While Tapper is reporting on these stories now, why wasn't he doing so prior to Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election? According to the book, Biden forgot the names of Jake Sullivan (his National Security Advisor), Jamie Harrison (Chairman of the DNC), and Hollywood star George Clooney (whom he has known for years).

The difference and distance between spineless Democrats and the ones with fire in the belly is both profound and, in the case of the courageous, so very inspiring. Some newer House Dems are proving to be our best hope. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is walking the walk and talking the talk. Meanwhile Rahm Emmanuel is the same old POS he's always been. Head-ON with Roxanne Kincaid – May 01, 2025 Roxanne Kincaid returns in this electrifying May 1st episode of Head-ON, diving deep into the dysfunction of American politics with her signature firebrand style. From blistering critiques of “Nitwit Nero” and the “MAGAT Party” to her praise for progressive champions like J.B. Pritzker and Melanie Stansbury, Roxanne brings unapologetic heat to a show grounded in fierce truth-telling and social justice advocacy.
In this packed episode, Chuck opens with a sobering assessment of President Trump's plummeting approval ratings and questions about his administration's credibility before diving into critical structural concerns about the Department of Justice's independence and the need to expand the House of Representatives. He shifts to Florida politics, where a brewing corruption scandal threatens the governor's race and Republicans are increasingly willing to challenge Ron DeSantis's weakened political standing. New York Congressman Dan Goldman joins for an extended interview about the concept of rule of law before and after his experience during impeachment proceedings. Goldman offers insights into Trump's challenges to fundamental constitutional principles and proposes concrete reforms to better protect America's democratic institutions, including codifying limits on presidential interference in prosecutions, strengthening congressional subpoena powers, and potentially restructuring the Justice Department with Federal Reserve-like independence. The episode's second half features political handicapper Dave Wasserman analyzing the evolving electoral landscape heading into the midterms. Wasserman explains how understanding local communities is crucial to predicting election outcomes, while lamenting the lack of quality coverage in smaller markets. He delivers a forecast that Democrats could see sizable gains in the House, with Trump's tariff policies potentially hurting Republicans in farm states. The discussion explores gerrymandering's changing impact, with both parties now complaining about the practice, and examines how the 2030 census might reshape the electoral map. Finally, they discuss the prospect of a “blue wave” in the 2026 midterm elections and whether we could see one or both chambers of congress change hands.Timeline00:00 Multiple polls show sharp approval rating drop for Trump03:00 Trump's spokespeople are losing credibility05:00 Department of Justice needs more independence 7:30 The House of Representatives needs to be expanded8:45 White House Correspondents weekend was awkward12:15 Corruption scandal looming over Florida governor race13:15 Florida Republicans are no longer afraid of Ron DeSantis15:30 Ron DeSantis may be weaker, but Florida Democrats aren't stronger17:00 The Shedeur Sanders commentary was ridiculous19:10 Congressman Dan Goldman joins the show19:40 What are the highlights of his district, NY-10? 26:35 What did "rule of law" mean to you before and after working on the impeachment proceedings? 30:25 Fundamental tenets of rule of law are being challenged 31:00 Amendments 4-10 are about equal protection under the law, for citizens and non-citizens 34:20 Trump has exposed why government is susceptible to leaders willing to break their oath of office 36:10 We need to codify into law that the president can't weigh in on individual prosecutions 38:40 Enforcement of congressional subpoenas needs legal teeth 41:30 Should we set up Justice with a level of independence like we did with the Federal Reserve? 48:40 If impeachment couldn't hold Trump accountable, why would the justice system? 50:10 Trump's conduct warranted prosecution 52:55 The impeachment process is broken 54:10 Trump has an unexplained infatuation for Vladimir Putin 7:25 The Republican majority in the House has turned all of their authority over to Trump 1:01:40 What can Democratic members of congress do other than speak out? 1:05:25 If Democrats want to win in 2026, what should they be talking about? 1:08:55 Is Andrew Cuomo vs Eric Adams really the best that NYC can do?1:14:45 Chuck's thoughts on his conversation with Dan Goldman1:17:35 Dave Wasserman joins the show! 1:19:35 Mainstreaming interest in political handicapping 1:24:05 Understanding a local community is crucial to handicapping 1:27:05 Smaller markets not getting coverage they deserve 1:28:20 Determining how competitive a race will be? 1:31:05 House map is less skewed than it used to be 1:34:35 Complaining about gerrymandering has become more bipartisan 1:36:05 Democrats could see sizeable midterm gains 1:42:50 How will retirements affect the midterms? 1:4:05 Tariffs will cost Republicans in the farm states 1:45:05 Kansas headed toward swing state status? 1:48:05 Reappropriation from 2030 census could add several new red seats 1:49:35 Can Republicans further gerrymander states like Texas and Florida? 1:53:35 Virginia governor race isn't that competitive 1:58:50 Conventional wisdom is that Democrats shouldn't choose a woman for 28 1:59:50 Is a blue wave developing? 2:01:05 Trump doesn't care about Republicans other than himself2:03:16 Chuck's final thoughts
In this 1-on-1, Harry sits down with Congressman Dan Goldman, who previously worked on Trump's first impeachment and before that was an AUSA in New York City. Goldman gives a sobering analysis of a series of stealth moves from the Trump Administration that are pulling us closer to authoritarian rule, including secret IRS-ICE data deals that shred privacy, economic sabotage through chaotic tariffs, and a GOP too scared to stop him. Jen Psaki breaks down the calculation behind Donald Trump's recent talk of an unconstitutional third term, which is just one of the many shiny objects he's dangled before the press corps to distract from the scandal of Signalgate. Congressman Dan Goldman joins Jen to discuss why Trump's musings about holding onto the White House beyond 2028 warrant our attention. Later Representative Jason Crow, a veteran and outspoken critic of Mike Waltz and Pete Hegseth's careless security breach puts our military in jeopardy. Jen also examines the elections in Wisconsin and Florida, focusing on what could be a seismic shift in voter sentiment in one House district in the Sunshine State, where Josh Weil is polling even with MAGA State Senator Randy Fine. Nicolle Wallace on the Trump administration pausing intelligence sharing with Ukraine, Musk's dangerous cuts to the federal workforce, and the Supreme Court rejecting Trump's bid to freeze USAID payments. Joined by: Julian Barnes, John Brennan, Paul Rieckhoff, Tim Miller, Mara Gay, Jacob Soboroff, David Jolly, Basil Smikle, Rep. Dan Goldman, Mary McCord, and Andrew Weissmann.
Jen Psaki examines the hypocrisy of Elon Musk and Donald Trump's claim to be fighting corruption when they're actually perpetuating it, explaining why nothing encapsulates the administration's embrace of corruption better than the quid pro quo with New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Rep. Dan Goldman joins Jen to discuss the Justice Department's move to drop criminal charges against Mayor Adams, explaining why this can only be seen as a "politicization of the DOJ." Next, Jen explains why seven federal prosecutors resigned this week rather than file the motion to dismiss the Adams case, which was eventually signed under the threat of firing. She is joined by legal expert Andrew Weissmann to discuss how Trump's DOJ is undermining the rule of law. Then, Jen explains why the Trump administration's pandering to Vladimir Putin is a feature of his foreign policy, not a bug. She is joined by author Bill Browder to discuss the shift in relations between the U.S. and Russia, and what it means for the continued war in Ukraine. Later, Jen is joined by Rep. Greg Casar to discuss how Musk and Trump's ransacking of the federal government is negatively impacting communities across the country, including farmers and veterans. Finally, Jen shares a preview of her conversation with her former boss Rahm Emanuel from a new episode of her podcast "The Blueprint", which is out Monday.Check out our social pages below:https://twitter.com/InsideWithPsakihttps://www.instagram.com/InsideWithPsaki/https://www.tiktok.com/@insidewithpsakihttps://www.msnbc.com/jen-psaki

A federal judge has temporarily blocked part of the Trump administration's plans to freeze trillions of dollars in federal aid money. On Tuesday's 3 Martini Lunch, Jim and Greg dissect the fallout from President Biden's sweeping pardon of Hunter Biden, highlighting Democratic efforts to reshape the narrative, late-night comedy jabs, and the ongoing deception from Biden's allies.First, they credit Brianna Keilar of CNN for grilling outspoken New York Rep. Dan Goldman over his previous claim that Biden respected the justice system too much to pardon his son. When Goldman attempts to misrepresent the facts, Keilar doesn't let him off the hook. They also delve into Jon Stewart's sharp critique of the Bidens and the Democrats, spotlighting their blatant hypocrisy. Stewart also points out that the pardon extends well beyond the issues Hunter Biden faced in court. Jim and Greg argue the timing of left-wing entertainers targeting the Bidens is more strategic than principled.Lastly, Jim and Greg discuss White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's insistence that Biden didn't lie about his stance on a pardon, despite evidence to the contrary. They also criticize her for singling out a National Review reporter who highlighted an NBC report exposing Biden's long-considered plan to pardon his son. Please visit our great sponsors:Omaha Steakshttps://omahasteaks.comSave 50% off sitewide during the Christmas gift buying season and be sure to use promo codeTHREE ML for an extra $30 off.Oraclehttps://oracle.com/martiniSee if your company qualifies 50% off your cloud bill at oracle.com/martini. The incompetent and compromised nominees Trump has assembled at record pace show how little regard he has for the essential functions our government provides. He wants to harness its power for his own ends, in a way that could put Americans and our national security at risk—but he can only do this if Congress is complicit. Meanwhile, the roundly-hated Matt Gaetz is providing cover for the sex abuse allegations against the other nominees, and the House majority margin may be razor thin. Rep. Dan Goldman and Marc Caputo join Tim Miller.
SERIES 3 EPISODE 70: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN BONUS EDITION: We are missing the POINT of the nominations of Sideshow Bobby Kennedy and Beavis and Botox Gaetz. This, simply, is Trump finding out how MUCH of a dictatorship his Republican House and Senate slaves will let him have. It's hard to believe that the literally worm-eaten brain of RFK Jr and the Madison Cawthorn wannabe that is Matt Gaetz could decide whether the Republicans will stop him here (or anywhere) but this is where we are. Because Trump is explaining his plan: I decide, I tell you what to do, and you do it or else. We are already HERE: THIS is the fork in the fascist road: deliberately choose people with no morals, no qualifications, and no qualities except absolute fealty to the dictator, then insist everybody else salute them. Same for Noem. Same for Gabbard. Same for Hegseth. Same for Patel. THE NEXT TEST will be openly demanding that he be permitted to run again in 2028, if he isn't dead by then. A lot of people asked me why I devoted so much time to the topic yesterday since it's a settled issue. Congressman Dan Goldman was concerned enough by Trump's third term "joke" to introduce a resolution affirming that the 22nd Amendment precludes it. Except, since early this year, the far right has been insisting that you're wrong, that's not what the 22nd Amendment says. The headline in a recent edition of the magazine The American Conservative: “TRUMP 2028.” Sub-head: “The 22nd Amendment is an arbitrary restraint on presidents who serve non-consecutive terms – and on democracy itself.” The American Conservative, by the way, is a "partner" of Project 2025.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today's Headlines: Trump's cabinet picks are stirring up headlines, with RFK Jr., an outspoken anti-vaxxer, slated to lead Health and Human Services, and Matt Gaetz set for Attorney General despite ongoing controversies. Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania Senate race heads to a recount, and after Trump floated the idea of a third term, a House resolution reaffirmed the two-term limit. Trump joked about a possible third term, prompting Rep. Dan Goldman to introduce a resolution reinforcing the two-term limit for presidents.
