If you feel frazzled by Christmas preparations and festivities, then you are in the right place because I feel this also! And so I am giving you a gift. It is a gift of a reflective moment where we look at rhythms of grace so we can still the hustle and savor the wonder.Like breathing, rhythms are "strong, regular repeated patterns" which open the passageway for me to breathe the air of grace. These mini-episodes were created with this in mind. I will talk with women about their personal Christmas rhythms of grace that open space to savor the wonder.Thank you for being here,Heather

However, the fallout of these decisions has meant that Beth has had to fight the good fight against comparisons, whether shiny social media pictures or the other moms in the carpool line. Get In The Herd Podcast at the McShin Foundation Addiction Recovery Resource Center
Thank you for listening to our latest episode of Get In the Herd AFTER HOURS from 8/30/2020 with Alex Bond as we welcome guest Mike Todd, Debbie Fling, and Beth Schmidt. We will be talking about Family Support and Experiences as well as the Importance of International Overdose Awareness Day on Monday 8/31/2020 Mike Todd is the Founder and Executive Director of the Freedom Recovery Center of Greenville & Recovery Advocacy Project -S.C / State Lead. Mike helped found the South Carolina Alliance for Recovery Residences in 2017, a state organization bringing standards, ethics, and accountability to recovery residences in South Carolina. He also is a state leader with the National Organization Recovery Advocacy Project bringing a much-needed voice to those suffering from substance use disorder and in recovery at a state and national level. Debbie Fling is a mother of two sons who are both addicts and have both been incarcerated. She decided years ago that She needed to educate herself on their disease, rather than continuously being a mother just praying that they live. She started reading and attending everything she could and joined Project Act Now in Washington County, MD through the Health Dept and started a support group there for family members of loved ones who are addicted. She's also a board member and active with a non-profit called Justice and Recovery Advocates who help family members of those addicted loved ones who are incarcerated as well as helping with re-entry services. Beth Schmidt went from a stay at home/team mom to addiction prevention advocate overnight when her son, Sean, lost his battle with heroin addiction in 2013, just 2 days after his 23 rd birthday. Since that time, Beth has been instrumental in bringing the heroin epidemic to the forefront by joining forces with numerous organizations and schools, speaking out about the need for stronger preventative measures, and for support of families battling with the addictions of loved ones. Beth has been the recipient of many awards and accolades and plans to continue her passionate fight to bring much-needed changes to the opioid crisis. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
