On this week's episode, Imprint reporter Michael Fitzgerald was in Washington last week to interview Alex Adams, who was confirmed in October to serve as the Assistant Secretary for Family Support at the Administration for Children and Families.Fitzgerald asked Adams about a wide range of subjects. They discussed the administration's goal of “A Home for Every Child” and how Adams plans to achieve that; how and why he plans to "barbecue" much of the regulatory language for states when it comes to federal funding and practice; why the administration has made demands that states roll back policies that are meant to protect LGBTQ+ youth; the role of kinship caregivers; and much more. Key Takeaways1. Hospice isn't about giving up — it's about shifting the goal from cure to comfort. Most misconceptions stem from fear or lack of education. Hospice focuses on maximizing quality of life, not accelerating end of life.2. Timing matters. Early conversations lead to better experiences.Families often wait until crisis mode. Subtle changes — fatigue, weight loss, repeated hospitalizations, shifting goals — are early signs to explore hospice.3. There is an entire team behind every patient and family.Chaplains, social workers, nurses, CNAs, and physicians work together to support medical, emotional, spiritual, and logistical needs.4. Quality of life is unique to each patient. It may mean one last trip, freedom from pain, or simply being able to rest without fear. Hospice focuses on what matters most.5. Families gain relief, clarity, and peace knowing they're not alone.Hospice offers 24/7 support, education, and guidance — reducing anxiety and preventing unnecessary hospital visits.6. Eligibility is flexible and individualized.A prognosis of six months or less is a guideline, not an expiration date. A hospice RN and medical director work together to determine appropriateness based on a full clinical picture.7. Hospice allows sacred, human moments to happen.Final conversations, reconciliation, peaceful transitions — hospice creates space for these moments rather than crisis-driven chaos.8. Education is the antidote to fear.Knowledge gives families confidence, reduces guilt, and empowers them to make aligned decisions for their loved ones. www.YourHealth.Org
What happens when two men sit down, drop the armour, and tell the truth about who they really are? On this episode of the Don’t Change Much Podcast, we introduce our new co-hosts, Mike Cameron and Trevor Botkin—two guys who have lived through rock bottom, rebuilt their lives, and are still doing the work every day. They share the same mission: help men close the gap between who they are and who they want to be. In this raw and hopeful conversation, Mike and Trevor unpack what healing actually looks like for men—navigating shame, asking for help, getting blindsided by grief, and learning to show up as the man you want to be, not the one you’re pretending to be. They share their stories of addiction, trauma, devastating loss, and the life-saving power of connection. What emerges is a powerful reminder that resilience isn’t only about being strong… it’s also about learning to feel again. This isn’t self-help fluff. It’s the hard, uncomfortable, life-changing work of becoming emotionally honest. You’ll hear: • Why men avoid asking for help and how to break that pattern• How shame fuels isolation and what stops it from running your life• The simple question Mike uses to course-correct when he’s slipping• Why Trevor believes self-forgiveness is the most unselfish thing a man can do If you’ve ever felt stuck, alone, or like you’re not the man you want to be, this conversation is your reminder: healing is possible… and you don’t have to do it on your own. Ep. 225 If you've been doubting your growth this year, this episode will open your eyes to just how far you've come and why you deserve to end 2025 proud, grounded, and unapologetically in your power. In this deeply reflective episode of HealingHer Within, host Maryann Rivera-Dannert walks you through 25 things she's truly grateful for in 2025 — and invites you to pause, reflect, and honor how you've evolved this year. From healing her past to holding firm boundaries, expanding her business, stepping into visibility, embracing divine timing, and nurturing herself with intention, Maryann breaks down the inner work, the breakthroughs, and the bold decisions that shaped her year. This episode is not just a gratitude list — it's a blueprint for how to close your year strong, aligned, and fully awake to who you are becoming. Whether you're celebrating wins or navigating hard truths, you'll walk away feeling inspired, grounded, and ready to greet 2026 with clarity and confidence. Key Takeaways Reflection is a power move: You can't grow what you don't track. Maryann emphasizes checking in with your yearly goals before December 31st. Healing is ongoing, not a finish line: Your past is part of your story — not the whole story. Your message is magnetic when it's aligned: The “liberated woman movement” is attracting the right women because Maryann is speaking boldly to her true audience. Boundaries are self-care in action: They're not about others — they're about honoring your peace. Visibility creates opportunity: Stepping into your voice leads to increased impact, income, and influence. Self-nourishment is non-negotiable: You can't pour into others when you're running on empty. Divine timing > forced timing: Peace comes from releasing control. Resilience is a superpower: You are not defined by what happened to you — only by how you rise. Message us here! Are you avoiding talking to your kids about topics that are just...awkward? In this episode, I chat with Dr. Elsa Friis, clinical psychologist and VP of Product at Alongside, to unpack a practical way to tackle taboo topics (sex, porn, consent, screens) without burning the bridge you're trying to build. Dr. Friis takes us from a group home with twelve boys to community-led parenting programs in Kenya, showing how cultural humility changes results. Warmth, respect, and safety are universal, but a mismatch in how love is shown fuels conflict. We dig into concrete tools: visual schedules that calm bedtime battles, shared calendars that grow autonomy, and “ice cream chats” that make awkward feel doable. We outline scripts for starting the sex conversation early, framing online exposure without shame, and setting boundaries that still invite honesty. We also explore how technology can extend, not replace, human care. Alongside for Families uses an AI wellness coach to help parents and youth practice tough conversations, build study plans, and share the right info at the right time. Teens get a private space with clear safety rails; parents receive high-level summaries and immediate alerts for risks like self-harm. KEY POINTSYour Health is launching a new hospice program to complete the continuum of care.Hospice is not new to leadership—team members have decades of experience.Palliative care and hospice work together:Palliative can continue indefinitelyHospice begins when disease progression reaches an advanced stage and patients choose comfort over curative treatmentHospice helps patients avoid unnecessary ER visits, hospital stays, and stressful care transitions. The new program allows patients to stay with their same care team, maintaining continuity and trust.Eligibility begins with specific diagnoses and a provider's order, supported by clinical and non-clinical indicators like frequent falls, increased symptoms, or significant weight loss. The “six-month rule” is based on normal disease progression, not an exact timeline. The new hospice service enhances value-based care, controlling costs while improving outcomes.Your Health staff play an important role in asking, “**What matters to you?**”The program ultimately expands patient choice and honors their wishes with compassion and dignity. www.YourHealth.Org
Send us a text“My foster child's biological parents are incarcerated; how can I guide them through this difficult time?” “My child's guard is up after trauma, how can I help take the walls down?” “How can I help a child transition out of Department of Juvenile Justice custody?” — When a child is in DJJ custody, they're locked up, isolated, and scared. They aren't just going through legal trouble, they're carrying trauma and shame. It takes resilience, hope, support, and love to break free of the trauma they've faced. That's why today Sophia Mills sits down with William Freeman, Founder and CEO of People of Purpose, an organization seeking to guide families as their loved ones come home from incarceration. He shares his experience going through the same thing and how he healed; as well as tips and strategies to help your child through the transition back into normality. Whether you or your child are going through this, know someone who is, or are recovering from any kind of trauma, William's powerful testimony and advice can help you on your journey. As William told us, “Sometimes it's not the trauma you expect. It's abandonment, it's silence, it's love not shown the way a child needs to feel it.”
Justin Timberlake BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Justin Timberlake has made headlines this week for both personal revelations and high-profile business moves. On July 31, Timberlake revealed on his official Instagram that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. He described the last leg of his music tour as fun, emotional, and physically grueling, saying that balancing touring and treatment was exhausting yet gratifying. He made it clear he wanted to shed light on what he had been facing behind the scenes. In the wake of his announcement, fans immediately offered waves of support, and his wife Jessica Biel had already posted a supportive message with family photos expressing pride and love for Timberlake and their sons. Biel's post drew hundreds of positive comments and underscored that she remains firmly by his side during this health battle, which could potentially have long-term impacts on his touring and professional commitments. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Lyme disease is a bacterial infection spread by ticks, producing symptoms like fever and fatigue and sometimes requiring a lengthy recovery. These events have been widely covered, with AOL and other outlets highlighting both Timberlake's vulnerability and his family's support. In business, Community Impact reports Timberlake is set to open a second Twelve Thirty Club, this time in downtown Austin, Texas. Partnering again with restaurateur Sam Fox, the new multi-level club will blend signature Nashville offerings with Austin-inspired menus and live music, set in a beautifully restored historic building. Timberlake commented that working in Austin allows him to combine his passion for music, hospitality, and innovative design, aiming for an experience where the space and the sound are equally important. The project is slated for a late 2027 opening but is making news now for its scale and ambition as well as for Timberlake's vision.Financially, there are several reports circulating about Timberlake's net worth, with most major business and entertainment sources putting his fortune at around 250 to 350 million dollars. Despite this considerable financial standing, there was recently news from GolfWRX that he sold his eco-friendly Mirimichi Golf Course at a substantial loss, drawing both sympathy and critique from the business community. Finally, on the pop culture front, recent YouTube clips show his classic collaborations like “4 Minutes” with Madonna and Timbaland still trending. He also made headlines earlier this summer for canceling a New Jersey show due to an injury, in the weeks following a plea deal related to a June DWI arrest, as reported by AOL and others. Social media remains abuzz with fan messages of support, new music rumors, and commentary about his ongoing resilience amid a challenging year. All told, this stretch may well be a pivotal chapter in Timberlake's biography, with health, business, and family all in the spotlight.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI
Brief: Two paths, one principle: treat homebuying as a long-term financial strategy, not a short-term hurdle.Synopsis: This holiday episode is less about quick fixes and more about reframing your mindset. David Sidoni uses the season of spending and reflection to challenge renters to think long-term. Whether you're considering formal assistance, planning to save aggressively, or exploring the option of family help, this episode presents the big picture. Sidoni explains how budgeting now — even during the holidays — can align you with a strategy to turn your lease into a mortgage. He explores how mindset, planning, and consistency are more powerful than credit score hacks or waiting for perfect market timing. While down payment assistance is addressed, so is the reality that some buyers may rely on gift funds — and the importance of being honest about what's possible and what's privileged.Quote: “Fear can be your ally. Join Annie Sargent and Elyse Rivin as they dive deep into the tragic and brilliant life of Vincent van Gogh. This episode isn't just about his iconic paintings—it's about the man behind the masterpieces. Elyse, with her deep knowledge of art history and her gift for storytelling, guides us through Van Gogh's tumultuous journey. From his early struggles in the Netherlands to his transformative years in France, we explore how his experiences shaped his art—and how his art, in turn, shaped the world. Listen to this episode ad-free Van Gogh's life was marked by failure, rejection, and mental health struggles. Elyse explains how these challenges fueled his creativity. As a young man, he tried—and failed—at careers as an art dealer, a preacher, and even a Bible translator. His family didn't know what to do with him, and his father even considered sending him to a mental hospital. But it was his brother, Theo, who became his lifeline. Theo provided financial and emotional support, allowing Vincent to focus on painting. This support gave him the freedom to experiment, leading to the bold, vibrant style we associate with him today. Paris was a turning point for Van Gogh. Elyse paints a vivid picture of his time there, living in Montmartre, meeting artists like Toulouse-Lautrec and Pissarro, and discovering new techniques. He hated the city at first, but over time, he began to embrace its energy. His move to Arles was another pivotal moment. He dreamed of creating an artists' colony there, but his relationship with Gauguin ended in disaster. Despite the chaos, this period was incredibly productive. He painted masterpieces like Starry Night Over the Rhône and Sunflowers. After his breakdown in Arles, Van Gogh was committed to an asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Elyse's account of this time is heartbreaking yet inspiring. He continued to paint, creating some of his most famous works, including Wheat Fields and more versions of Starry Night. His final days in Auvers-sur-Oise were marked by relentless painting and a tragic end. This episode isn't just about art—it's about humanity, perseverance, and the cost of genius. If you love stories that move you, this is a must-listen. Subscribe to Join Us in France on your favorite podcast app so you never miss an episode. After six births within the system—including a cesarean at 37 weeks due to partial placenta previa and subsequent hospital abuse—Ashleigh knew she was done. Now a mother of nine and a Radical Birth Keeper School graduate, Ashleigh joins me to share her accumulated wisdom from nearly twenty years of mothering and birthing. We met in person at Matriarch Rising Festival, and in this conversation, we explore what it means to truly live the lessons that birth offers us.We discuss the pros and cons of having children present during birth, what it looks like to honor our evolving faith journeys, and how Ashleigh navigated the tension between her freebirth path and her husband's discomfort with it.I also challenge Ashleigh's decision to pull away from her Christian audience, encouraging her to consider what it might mean to let her community see her more deeply. She speaks vulnerably about her own healing from rage and how she now coaches mothers who find themselves lashing out at their children—because she's been there too.Come listen, learn, and receive from a mother of nine whose story carries the depth and clarity only time, experience, and devotion can bring.✨Start Your Journey: The Complete Guide to Freebirth - Our best-selling, self-paced course for women ready to claim their births on their own terms. Elliot Resnick grew up in a stable, loving home and lived what many would consider a “normal life.” He worked in journalism, had a deep interest in politics, and reported on major national stories. But everything changed on January 6th, 2021. After attending the Capitol event that day, Elliot followed the crowd inside — a decision that would come back to haunt him nearly two years later. In a shocking turn, federal agents arrested him, and he was charged for his involvement in storming the U.S. Capitol. He was later sentenced to federal prison, facing the reality of losing everything — his freedom, career, and reputation. But his story didn't end there. While serving time, Elliot became one of the few involved in the January 6th cases to receive a presidential pardon — granted by former President Donald Trump — leading to his early release. #January6 #CapitolRiot #PrisonStory #ExConStory #Prisoner #RealStory #RedemptionJourney #FirstHandAccount Connect with Elliot Resnick: X: @ResnickElliot Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ Shop Locked In Merch: http://www.ianbick.com/shop Timestamps: 00:00 The Journalist Who Went to Prison – Introduction 01:21 From News Reporter to Federal Inmate 04:43 Visiting Hours, Family Support & What Prison Teaches You 10:44 Childhood, Upbringing & Early Lessons in Life 17:42 Discovering Politics & Finding a Voice 23:43 15 Years in Journalism – Covering the Stories That Mattered 29:57 Life Before Everything Changed 34:43 January 6th: Why He Went to the Capitol 41:43 Inside the Chaos – Crowd, Police & Personal Motives 49:43 After the Capitol: Regret, Reflection & Reality 55:52 Coming Home & Facing the Fallout 01:00:22 The FBI Knock & Facing Federal Charges 01:08:25 Inside Danbury Federal Prison – First Day to Daily Routine 01:15:46 Faith Behind Bars – The Role of Religion in Survival 01:22:13 Trump's Pardon & Life After Prison 01:26:00 Lessons on Justice, Freedom & Redemption Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Bringin' It Backwards, Adam sits down with Zahna—a resilient rock artist whose journey is anything but typical. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Zahna moved with her family to Ohio before spending a pivotal year in Mexico to reconnect with her roots. After settling in Texas, music quickly became her passion, from musical theater to high school battle of the bands. But Zahna's story goes much deeper than band stages and studio sessions. She opens up about facing—and overcoming—a serious genetic kidney disease, receiving a life-saving transplant from her mom, and navigating the toughest years of her life. Despite setbacks, Zahna turned pain into power, launching her solo career, independently releasing her acclaimed album Stronger Than Death, and—most recently—signing with Brian “Head” Welch's label (yes, from Korn!). In this candid conversation, Zahna shares the highs and lows of her artistic journey, the story behind her explosive single "Pile of Pills," and why authenticity is her greatest strength. If you're a musician hustling to make it or just love hearing what it really takes to chase your dreams, this episode is for you.
