Elliot Resnick grew up in a stable, loving home and lived what many would consider a “normal life.” He worked in journalism, had a deep interest in politics, and reported on major national stories. But everything changed on January 6th, 2021. After attending the Capitol event that day, Elliot followed the crowd inside — a decision that would come back to haunt him nearly two years later. In a shocking turn, federal agents arrested him, and he was charged for his involvement in storming the U.S. Capitol. He was later sentenced to federal prison, facing the reality of losing everything — his freedom, career, and reputation. But his story didn't end there. While serving time, Elliot became one of the few involved in the January 6th cases to receive a presidential pardon — granted by former President Donald Trump — leading to his early release. #January6 #CapitolRiot #PrisonStory #ExConStory #Prisoner #RealStory #RedemptionJourney #FirstHandAccount Connect with Elliot Resnick: X: @ResnickElliot Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ Shop Locked In Merch: http://www.ianbick.com/shop Timestamps: 00:00 The Journalist Who Went to Prison – Introduction 01:21 From News Reporter to Federal Inmate 04:43 Visiting Hours, Family Support & What Prison Teaches You 10:44 Childhood, Upbringing & Early Lessons in Life 17:42 Discovering Politics & Finding a Voice 23:43 15 Years in Journalism – Covering the Stories That Mattered 29:57 Life Before Everything Changed 34:43 January 6th: Why He Went to the Capitol 41:43 Inside the Chaos – Crowd, Police & Personal Motives 49:43 After the Capitol: Regret, Reflection & Reality 55:52 Coming Home & Facing the Fallout 01:00:22 The FBI Knock & Facing Federal Charges 01:08:25 Inside Danbury Federal Prison – First Day to Daily Routine 01:15:46 Faith Behind Bars – The Role of Religion in Survival 01:22:13 Trump's Pardon & Life After Prison 01:26:00 Lessons on Justice, Freedom & Redemption Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of Bringin' It Backwards, Adam sits down with Zahna—a resilient rock artist whose journey is anything but typical. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Zahna moved with her family to Ohio before spending a pivotal year in Mexico to reconnect with her roots. After settling in Texas, music quickly became her passion, from musical theater to high school battle of the bands. But Zahna's story goes much deeper than band stages and studio sessions. She opens up about facing—and overcoming—a serious genetic kidney disease, receiving a life-saving transplant from her mom, and navigating the toughest years of her life. Despite setbacks, Zahna turned pain into power, launching her solo career, independently releasing her acclaimed album Stronger Than Death, and—most recently—signing with Brian “Head” Welch's label (yes, from Korn!). In this candid conversation, Zahna shares the highs and lows of her artistic journey, the story behind her explosive single "Pile of Pills," and why authenticity is her greatest strength. If you're a musician hustling to make it or just love hearing what it really takes to chase your dreams, this episode is for you. Hit subscribe and listen in to hear Zahna's full story—and remember to rate and review Bringin' It Backwards wherever you get your podcasts!

As a graduate of the Radical Birth Keeper School, she now carries this work forward in her own community.Celia reflects on her four births, including the painful memory of her midwife pulling out her placentas. What happens when you see behind the curtain of labor and delivery? In this episode, I speak with Rylee, a young mother who chose to freebirth her first child after working inside the hospital system. From the vantage point of the “business of birth,” Rylee began to question everything she thought she knew about pregnancy. That unraveling brought her face-to-face with the deep dissonance between what she was told was “right” and what her body knew was true.Carrying that knowing into her own pregnancy, she made the radical choice to step away from the system entirely. Rylee shares what it was like to work as a self-described “fearmongering phlebotomist,” to quit, and then to bring her baby earthside in her own power. Her story is one of unlearning, reclaiming, and discovering the strength that emerges when a woman finally trusts herself. What You'll Hear:Why Rylee walked away from working in a hospitalWhat it feels like to stand up to doctors and refuse routine proceduresThe hidden link between hospital “convenience” and high C-section ratesWhy even trusted OBs and familiar clinics can still feel wrongHow she found her rhythm and delivered her baby in a birth pool at homeThe joy of her birth: laughing while pushing, with her mother and husband as witnessesTimestamps:[00:00] Introduction[09:03] Starting to question the hospital method and learning about freebirth[15:45] Climbing out of the system and trusting her instincts[19:57] Defying the doctors and reclaiming her sovereignty[28:15] Realizing that the hospital is a business[36:37] Choosing who she wanted at her freebirth[38:14] The psychedelic moment before labor began[45:40] Moving into the second day of labour, feeling tired, and calling her Mom[48:47] Exhausted, in a trance, and roaring through the portal of labor[51:32] Finding her rhythm and bringing her baby earth side in the pool[58:19] Getting out of the pool, the first cuddles, and delivering the placentaIf you want to connect more with Rylee, follow her on Instagram.Watch Rylee's birth video here.Find more from Emilee on Instagram, YouTube and the Free Birth Society website.Disclaimer: Free Birth Society, LLC of North Carolina shares personal and educational stories and experiences related to freebirth and holistic care. Justin Bieber BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Justin Bieber has dominated headlines over the past few days with a whirlwind of activity that spans music, business, and personal life. The big news is his official announcement as Coachella's headliner for the 2026 festival, marking his first major live concerts in the US since 2022. According to NBC Palm Springs, he'll take the stage on April 11 and 18 alongside SZA and others, with Billboard and Page Six both reporting his record-breaking $10 million compensation, which he reportedly landed singlehandedly by negotiating directly with Goldenvoice, not through an agent. Rumors suggest this deal was driven and encouraged by his wife Hailey Bieber, who, according to US Weekly and Page Six, was a major reason he decided to accept — insiders described her as both the “driving force” and “incredibly supportive,” reminding him how much touring means to his fans and ushering in what some have called a new era where Justin calls all the shots. This Coachella momentum comes on the heels of new musical output. Bieber recently dropped a black-and-white video teaser for his SWAG II track “Speed Demon,” filmed on the actual Coachella grounds. He shared shots online of himself and Hailey strolling hand-in-hand across the field with their young son, Jack Blues Bieber, further fueling buzz for his festival appearance, as seen on his official Instagram and covered by ABC Audio. Musically, his album ‘Swag' re-entered the Billboard top 10 this week, driven by a newly expanded deluxe edition, as KUNR reports, underscoring the album's staying power after debuting two months ago.On the business front, Bieber's launch of a limited edition cannabis line called ‘Peaches,' in partnership with Palms, made the rounds on social media and in Vogue and BBC News. The singer revealed his goal is to make cannabis more approachable and to destigmatize its use, with a portion of proceeds benefitting criminal justice reform charities like the Last Prisoner Project and Veterans Walk and Talk.Financially, Bieber resolved a major chapter by reaching a $31.5 million settlement with former manager Scooter Braun. PEOPLE and TMZ confirm this ends a dispute over money Bieber owed Braun and HYBE, largely related to advances for the canceled Justice Tour and unpaid commissions. These revelations surfaced alongside the release of a new documentary that links Bieber's earlier catalog sale to Hipgnosis, in December 2022, to financial strain. Although speculation persists regarding the stress Bieber's facing, Braun told The Diary of a CEO podcast that Justin's decision to strike out on his own is respected and, after 15 highly successful years, the old team wishes him well.In short, every major headline is signaling a comeback—Justin Bieber is seizing control of his career, making bold moves in music and business, and returning to the spotlight with support from his family and fans.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Lisa Marino, Founder and CEO of Dopple, has made it her mission to simplify the process.Lisa's personal experience navigating the welfare system while earning her MBA at Stanford inspired her to create Dopple. She explained, “We built for others what we did for ourselves to get our own family through.” Her platform connects families to an array of funding sources—government benefits, philanthropic programs, and contributions from friends and family—by streamlining the process into a simple, AI-driven solution. In today's episode, Lisa highlighted a staggering statistic: “40% of families eligible for SNAP are so overwhelmed by the application process that many just drop out.” She's determined to eliminate this friction, helping families secure critical funding for essentials like childcare, diapers, and even college savings.Lisa Marino will be pitching at the Superpowers for Good Live Pitch on September 29, 2025, at 5 PM ET! You'll not only see her live but also get the chance to ask her questions directly in the private investor session afterward. Register here.Dopple's approach begins with a 12-month budget, encouraging families to think comprehensively about their needs. The platform then leverages AI to match families with available resources and funding opportunities. Lisa shared, “We've taken this budget that maybe started at $25,000 and start whacking away at it… shifting $20,000 plus from being out of pocket to the family to the village that wants to support them.”Dopple's innovative model also addresses the philanthropic side. By fractionalizing gifting, Dopple enables friends, family, and organizations to contribute directly to a family's needs. Additionally, the company generates revenue through subscription-based kids' clothing and essential products like diapers and formula.Lisa's commitment to making a difference extends beyond her platform's services. Dopple is currently raising funds on Wefunder, inviting everyday individuals to invest in the company's vision. Lisa explained, “I believe in being egalitarian… If we're trying to help families fund the basics, we need to walk the walk.”By tackling the bureaucratic hurdles that prevent families from accessing critical support, Lisa and Dopple are making an extraordinary impact. Learn more about their mission and investment opportunity at thedopple.com/invest.tl;dr:Lisa Marino, CEO of Dopple, shares her journey navigating welfare systems during her MBA at Stanford.Dopple simplifies access to critical benefits, combining AI and a comprehensive family budgeting platform. The platform connects families to funding sources, reducing out-of-pocket expenses by leveraging their community.Lisa emphasizes Dopple's egalitarian approach, inviting individuals to invest via a Wefunder campaign. Her superpower, refusing to give up, drives her to tackle challenges with persistence and grit. How to Develop Refusing to Give Up As a SuperpowerLisa Marino's superpower is her unrelenting tenacity to overcome obstacles. She described it simply: “The hard part was sitting down and figuring it out.” Whether navigating complex welfare systems during her pregnancy or guiding her company through challenges, Lisa defines success as persistence. As she told her kids, “People who put on the big kid pants clean it up… and move forward.”Lisa's determination was tested during her time as CEO of Rocky. She inherited a company with a $400 million preference stack and declining revenue. Despite being advised against taking the role, she worked tirelessly to restructure the business, rebuild profitability, and grow through acquisitions. Years of difficult conversations and strategic moves eventually led to success—an exemplary display of perseverance.Tips for Developing This Superpower:Set Realistic Expectations: Focus on achieving small wins, even when faced with overwhelming challenges.Embrace the Grind: Accept that progress takes time and effort, and remain committed to the vision.Allow Yourself Breaks: Give yourself permission to recharge when needed, such as Lisa's “quarterly pity party.”Take Control: Address challenges proactively rather than waiting for them to escalate.By following Lisa's example and advice, you can make refusing to give up a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world.Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. In this episode, we speak with Daniel Medina of Broomfield, Colorado, about his journey as a caregiver for his wife Miley, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in 2021 at the young age of 27. What begins as a story of sudden diagnosis during an active summer of volleyball quickly turned into an emotional and logistical rollercoaster for Daniel, Miley, and their then two-year-old daughter. We walk through the early days of Miley's diagnosis, including a pivotal urgent care visit that led directly to hospitalization. Daniel shares how a professional connection helped secure Miley's access to top oncological care at UC Health. Despite initial chemotherapy and some success, a relapse in 2022 led to a bone marrow transplant, which ultimately helped Miley recover and thrive. Today, she's healthier and more driven than ever—running three coffee shops, parenting energetically, and even making time for beach volleyball.Throughout the conversation, we dive deep into Daniel's experience as a male caregiver. He reflects on the challenges of holding together family life, work obligations, and emotional well-being while supporting a critically ill spouse. He shares how difficult it was to ask for help—something that went against his natural instinct for independence—and how family, colleagues, and mindfulness practices helped him cope.Daniel is candid about the helplessness he felt, the fears of losing his partner, and the emotional weight of trying to appear strong for his daughter. He explains how something as small as being physically present, even if it's just sitting silently in the hospital room, becomes powerful. We also learn how critical digital communities like the CancerBuddy app were in helping him find hope, practical advice, and emotional connection during a time when Google only offered grim statistics. We explore how Miley's recovery affected not only their family dynamics but also their daughter, who—despite her young age—continues to carry emotional echoes of the experience. Daniel highlights the importance of honoring milestones and using them to reflect on growth, healing, and gratitude. He encourages all caregivers to stay grounded, stay present, and reach out for support when needed. His perspective is not only honest and raw, but also deeply human, offering valuable insight into the caregiving journey from a role that's often underrepresented. This season is sponsored by Sanofi: https://www.sanofi.com/And Jazz Pharmaceuticals: https://www.jazzpharma.com/CancerBuddy: https://bonemarrow.org/support-and-financial-aid/support/about-cancerbuddy National Bone Marrow Transplant Link - (800) LINK-BMT, or (800) 546-5268.nbmtLINK Website: https://www.nbmtlink.org/nbmtLINK Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/nbmtLINKFollow the nbmtLINK on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/nbmtlink/The nbmtLINK YouTube Page can be found by clicking here.To participate in the GVHD Mosaic, click here: https://amp.livemosaics.com/gvhd Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. But Natalie's journey is also deeply personal. She reveals how she overcame her initial fear of being on camera, why she calls social media a “guaranteed lottery ticket,” and how consistency transformed her from hesitant beginner to confident content creator. She speaks candidly about balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood, her partnership with her wife Rachel, and why authenticity and storytelling remain at the core of her brand and personal platform. Discover how Natalie leverages family, community, and content to scale a beauty empire, why she believes content creation is the new language of human communication, and how embracing imperfection can be the secret to growth. In this episode, we dive deep with James (Jared) Maynard—a physiotherapist, strength coach, and competitive powerlifter—who not long ago faced a life-threatening health crisis. What began as a simple head cold spiraled quickly into organ failure, a rare autoimmune condition called HLH, and five weeks on life support. James takes us through the harrowing journey of fighting for his life, grappling with the loss of his physical strength, and rebuilding himself from the ground up—both physically and mentally. Through candid conversations, he and Chris explore the daunting challenges of identity shifts, the importance of resilience, and the power of community support during times of crisis. James also opens up about how this experience reshaped his values, his priorities, and his approach to coaching others through their darkest moments. Whether you're an athlete, a coach, or someone facing a difficult path, this episode is a testament to the indomitable human spirit and the transformative potential of strength—inside and out. Join us as we explore what it truly means to be resilient, and how, sometimes, losing everything can lead to a life of even greater purpose. Key Takeaways: Resilience Is Built Before It's Needed: Jared credits years of training for literally saving his life—his physical and mental strength gave him a fighting chance. Cultivating strength, he says, is the best kind of life insurance. Redefining Identity: When everything you've built is stripped away, you're forced to confront the core of who you are. Jared opens up about the grief of losing his physical capabilities and the deep self-reflection it prompted. He urges us all to diversify our identities beyond just what we do. The Game of Inches: Recovery started not with personal records, but with celebrating the tiniest steps—holding a phone, standing for 30 seconds, building back from two-and-a-half pound plates. The real battle is finding the discipline and optimism to keep going when the wins feel minuscule. The Power of Support: Sometimes, being tough isn't about “doing it all.” Jared shares how leaning on his family, mentors, and broader community was critical—not just physically, but emotionally. Saying Yes to What Matters: Jared's brush with mortality is a powerful reminder to focus on what truly matters—his family, his mission, and savoring the small moments. Danny Rensch grew up in the Church of Immortal Consciousness, a cult he usually refers to as ‘the Collective'. Started by Steven and Trina Kamp, the group followed the teachings of a Dr Pahlvon Duran, whose spirit first visited Trina when she was 9. In trances, she would convey the teachings of Dr Duran, whose last lifetime was lived as an Englishman in the 15th century. The group lived communally dispersed across basic housing in Tonto Village, Arizona. The Collective's small charter school, the Shelby School, became renowned for the performance of its chess team, and Danny Rensch was its star performer. Bryan Kohberger's Bad Week Part 3 - Family Support Vanishes & Deadly Threats Loom By Part Three of Bryan Kohberger's nightmare week in prison, the stakes rise even higher. The harassment hasn't stopped—it's escalated. Inmates continue taunting him with vulgar, threatening language, and experts warn that in an environment like J-Block, those words can quickly turn into violence. “Deadly threats loom” isn't just a headline—it's a reality for someone as hated and high-profile as Kohberger. But perhaps the most devastating blow is happening outside the prison walls: the slow vanishing of family support. Once surrounded by parents and relatives willing to defend or stand by him, Kohberger is now increasingly isolated. With family ties weakening, the protective buffer he may have counted on is slipping away. In maximum security, where survival depends not just on guards but on reputation, that loss of support leaves him even more vulnerable. Robin Dreeke and Tony Brueski break down what this means psychologically and practically. For someone like Kohberger—who relied on his mother as an emotional anchor throughout his life—the erosion of family connection cuts deeper than he likely ever imagined. Combined with constant inmate harassment and the cold dismissal of prison officials, it paints a picture of a man spiraling into complete powerlessness. This segment explores the reality of Kohberger's future behind bars: alone, mocked, threatened, and no longer buoyed by the safety net of family. He thought notoriety would protect him. Instead, it's painting a target on his back. #BryanKohberger #IdahoMurders #TrueCrime #PrisonThreats #HiddenKillers #Justice #RobinDreeke #PrisonNews #TrueCrimePodcast #CourtCase Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
