School of Hard Knocks was in session as IAR covered youth sports, coaches, parents, winning & losing and the sensitive subject of "participation trophies" I was joined by New Paltz New York's assistant modified middle school baseball coach, Bobby Simmons & an Alum of NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association), Satiro Kazolias. They each spoke about how competitive sports has played a huge role in their personal lives and how youth sports and competition has changed over the years. We also had to discuss the purpose of Participation Trophies and whether or not they are helping or hindering competitive sports in todays youth. In episode 70 I talk to Bobby Simmons (Stetsasonic) about The Bomb Squad, an American hip hop production team known for its work with hip hop group Public Enemy. The Bomb Squad is noted for its dense, distinct, innovative production style, often utilizing dozens of samples on just one track. They are also known for incorporating harsh, atonal sounds and samples into their productions.
Bobby Simmons, a Georgia wrestling legend in his own right, joins hosts Larry Goodman and Stephen Platinum to pay tribute to legendary Georgia referee Charlie Smith who recently passed away at the age of 92.

• Stetsasonic was an American hip hop group formed in 1981 in Brooklyn, New York. They are remembered as one of the first hip hop crews to use a live band, and their positive, uplifting lyrics have made the group forerunners of alternative hip hop and jazz rap. The members are Prince Paul, Wise, DBC (the Devastating Beat Creator), Daddy-O, Delite, Bobby Simmons, and Fruitkwan aka Frukwan. Originally, the group was known as the Stetson Brothers, but they changed their name to Stetsasonic for their debut, On Fire, due to their preference of Stetson hats. The album received mixed reviews, though the follow-ups, In Full Gear and Blood, Sweat & No Tears were critically acclaimed.
