From there we talk the many issues between Ole Anderson and Jim Barnett. On today's show the main topic of discussion is changes in pro wrestling and society over the past 30 years, how pro wrestling culture ebbed and flowed during that time, and just how great was early 1990s WCW? From a financial standpoint, terrible, but there was also a lot of fun to be found. Then I examine the case for Ole Anderson, as a singles wrestler, for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame.
It's the final episode of a trilogy of "ASK BOB ANYTHING" Q&As to kick off the new year! In the Summer of 1980, Dusty Rhodes wanted Ole Anderson to be his partner in a Tag Team match against the Assassins. Ole had been on the face side for over a year at this point, but what transpired in a cage match at the Omni set up an amazing story of a year long plot that included the likes of Stan Hansen, Ivan Koloff, Gene Anderson, Tommy Rich, Tony Atlas and more as Ole earned the trust of many and lost the trust of his fellow heels to ultimately take down Dusty Rhodes. This angle had repercussions that went on for the next 7 years and you could even say it had a hand in creating the Four Horseman in 1985. Its Ole Andersons heel turn on Dusty Rhodes from GCW in the Summer of 1980! Give it a listen!

Seldom does one person affect an entire industry the way Eric Bischoff has. When Ted Turner owned World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the early ‘90s he had a few different old-school bookers in charge like Ole Anderson and Bill Watts. But when Turner changed things up and tapped a third-string announcer with a sales background as the new executive in charge of WCW, everything changed for the Atlanta-based promotion. Bischoff's first major move was asking for a primetime spot to go head-to-head with the World Wrestling Federation (today's WWE). That was unheard of in the industry and quickly Monday Night Nitro was started on TNT. And the “Monday Night Wars” were underway.
