The Seattle Seahawks' initial 53-man roster is set, and we went live to talk about the biggest surprises and areas where there is still some concern going into the season. The Seahawks kept a surprising number of offensive linemen. But in the past when we had a surprising lack of depth at guard, we are now to the point where guys seemingly beat the odds to make the team. The running back room may be a concern until Zach Charbonnet gets back, but that's mainly because we haven't seen much from the guys throughout the preseason (by design). A fan favorite from Hard Knocks made the initial 53, and John Schneider made a trade to help with cornerback depth. Other big news in the NFL today was the signing of Aaron Donald. But did anyone expect that he'd command $20 million? We compare the situation to the last time the Seahawks signed a future Hall of Famer who was seemingly content to stay retired. Plus a ton of great questions straight from the flock as we look ahead to a tailgate and the regular season opener against the Patriots. Football is officially back, and the boys are fully awake again. Alex and David open the episode by celebrating the most wonderful time of the year before taking a quick detour into Alex's most difficult dietary realization: he can give up almost anything, but he will never be strong enough to give up bread. From there, it's straight into college football mode. The guys react to the preseason Top 25, question Oregon getting another early bump, break down where Texas A&M sits in the national picture, and debate how much these rankings actually mean before the games start. With Week Zero around the corner, fantasy football drafts heating up, and mock draft season fully underway, the football energy is finally real. Then it's Hard Knocks, Texans preseason takeaways, and the best uniform news Houston has had in years. David talks himself into the Texans offense after one clean preseason drive, while Alex declares the new Nike Rivalries Texans jerseys an instant purchase and possibly the cleanest uniforms in the entire release. The episode also hits college football chaos with former NFL players trying to return to school, the NCAA's latest eligibility mess, LSU taking advantage of the rules, and the SEC/Big Ten scrambling to close the loophole. Then the guys move into Texans roster talk, the Keyshon Boutte trade, Deshaun Watson's latest tone-deaf media moment, Shedeur Sanders winning people over, and whether Houston should pay CJ Stroud now before the quarterback market gets even crazier. To close it out, Alex and David jump into fantasy football running back debates, Ashton Jeanty's draft value, the danger of trusting the Raiders, and the most important question of any fantasy league: how irresponsible should the last-place punishment be? College football is here, NFL preseason is here, Texans hype is here, fantasy football is here, bread is undefeated, and the boys are officially back on a weekly schedule — pull up a chair and join the conversation!
