In this limited run series, I will be exploring the pioneers that have shaped and influenced the EDM we have today. In this episode I will be featuring British Electronic Group, “Faithless”. In 1995, Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss and Rollo Armstrong formed the trio "Faithless". Each member had a unique contribution to the group. Maxi Jazz brought his distinct vocal and lyrical style, Sister Bliss wrote songs as well as played keyboards and Rollo Armstrong was an accomplished producer. The band set themselves apart by blending together sounds from a range of genres, including house, trance, trip-hop and down tempo. A perfect example of this unique blend is their highly acclaimed song “Insomnia”; take a listen here. “Insomnia” received widespread commercial success and charted in multiple countries and becoming a club hit. Since the inception of his solo career, Italian born Luca Cazal has achieved much in a short space of time. With an impressive discography across a variety of aliases, including the hugely successful Infinity Ink, Hot Natured and Luca C.& Brigante groups, he’s released via household names: Classic Music Company, Crosstown Rebels, Southern Fried to name a few. In the studio, Cazal draws from a deep well of inspirations that spans Electro, Dub and the classic house and Techno heritage of his homeland. Pair this with an unwavering obsession for hardware and flair for live performance to get a sense of the distinct personality captured in Cazal’s productions. An avid digger and record collector, whilst humble, driven and devoted to the craft, Cazal is completely at home during both peak time and long-form sets. As an international DJ, he makes regular stops at club culture’s most lionised spaces including Fabric, Club Der Visionnaire, Panorama Bar and of course Ibiza’s DC10 of which he’s been a longstanding resident for, now over seven years and counting. Constantly evolving, Cazal took first forays into label owning in 2014, first establishing Double Drop with long-term peer Brigante, followed by its See Double offshoot. Djecker BIO : Born the 14th of April 1992, Djigal Gergino Wattimury, better known as DJ and Producer Djecker, grewing up with love for house music. As a young boy he was always busy with experimenting to create music. After 3 years producing in all kinds of house styles he started to develope his own sound. Djecker has been active since 2010 as a Dj/Producer, but under several different names. Djecker is discovered by Catcher in 2014, he is now the resident dj of catcher also called (De Beuker). The ninth installment of our fantastic Essentials series comes courtesy of Jona, one of Get Physical's favorite wunderkinds. The graduated sound engineer is certainly no stranger to quality music, having come into the realm of house and techno through his beginnings in blues and jazz guitar, an influence that has translated into a penchant for a certain swing, to be found in his own creations and those he selects. This compilation is no exception, with 14 tracks that run the gamut from the playful and cinematic to the shoulder-popping dance lures, all with their fair share of broken beats and serious groove. SIOPIS, Brett Johnson, Isolee, Italoboyz, Boris Werner and Jona himself are just a few of the cooks in the latest Essentials kitchen, and it smells heavenly.

Patryk was born near Berlin in the middle of the 80s and started early to develop a deep relationship to music. He has always felt very close to electronic music. But it was not before his 18th birthday that the passion grew so strong that he tried his own productions. In the beginning using LoFi equipment he tried to transfer music of any kind into his very own productions. Back then he has been strongly influenced by the Big Beat scene in England and Vienna Scientists like Kruder & Dorfmeister. He tried out different styles until he discovered the house scene. He decided to get his own equipment and to share the music that he admires so much with others. Soon he developed an affection for Deep and French house. Bit by bit the minimalistic sounds hit him and he worked full of enthusiasm on his first minimalistic productions. His tracks are strongly influenced by the flourishing and always self reinventing Berlin night life. Artists like Dyed Soundorom, Nekes, Boris Werner and Michael Melchner are currently among those that influence him most. But also Nu Jazz, Easy Listening and Soul can be found occasionally in his music. Patryk about his music: "I love groovy, shaky things and I always try to transfer that in my productions. The tracks don't always have to be danceable or for the clubs. They can simply be for listening but still communicate a certain groove. Most important is that they reflect what one has felt while doing the production and it relates to oneself."

Born in the late 1980 in Puglia (Italy), he takes his first steps towards music as a child playin guitar and drums in different bands. He began lovin electro music during his childhood and he starts following artists such as Royksopp and The Knife, so popular around 2000, and he starts appreciating all the club scene close to this kind of sounds.thats when he feels the need to express himself behind the desks, evolving his sound trough the various undergrounds trends of the time. He has payed in many clubs, djing on the local party circuit, until 2008 - 2009 when he decides to get closer to music production.
