Groovegsus Plays only Tracks from Patrice Baumel Patrice Bäumel has carved a singular path through the global techno landscape. A Beatport chart-topping producer and internationally acclaimed DJ, he's known for releases on iconic labels such as Kompakt, Get Physical, and Watergate, and for his celebrated residency at Amsterdam's legendary Trouw — the club that shaped his sound and reputation. His music has soundtracked dancefloors from Ipanema to Ibiza, combining emotional depth, precision, and raw club energy. Born in East Germany during the Communist era, Patrice's story is one of self-determination and resilience. Growing up mixed-race in a conservative environment, he found early refuge in music — records from Depeche Mode, Yello, The Cure, and Skinny Puppy igniting a lifelong fascination with electronic sound. The fall of the Iron Curtain opened new horizons, and a high-school exchange year in Utah gave him the confidence to explore beyond borders. By 17, he was DJing everything from gabber to Detroit techno, already building the foundation of his diverse musical identity. Moving to Amsterdam, Patrice initially pursued a career in technology before rediscovering his passion for music. A small home studio and local bar gigs soon led to early releases on Frankfurt's Trapez label, but it was his 2008 track “Roar” on Get Physical — a worldwide club hit championed by Pete Tong and Danny Tenaglia — that launched him onto the international stage. His Trouw residency in the early 2010s became a defining chapter: marathon seven-hour sets where he honed his storytelling ability and explored the emotional extremes of techno. When the club closed, Patrice took the opportunity for deep personal reinvention — quitting intoxicants, embracing discipline, and focusing on music with intention and clarity. The result was a new creative phase that balanced strategic precision with raw human connection. Influenced by the experimental sounds of Andy Stott and Autechre, Patrice blends intellect with intuition, always seeking the perfect balance between chaos and control. His philosophy is clear: club music must be brave, radical, and driven by emotion.

Da ist die Ellis Mano Band mit Sänger Chris Ellis, der sich von streunenden Hunden bewegen lässt. Aus dieser Begegnung entsteht ein Song, der von Einsamkeit erzählt, aber auch von Würde und Freiheit. Kuno Lauener, Sänger von Züri West, erinnert sich an seine Rolle rund um den Film «Der Goalie bin ig». Als Fan des Romans war er begeistert, aber auch gehemmt, einen Song zum Film beizusteuern. Sina singt für jemanden, der langsam verschwindet. «Fär wer soll i singu?» ist ein Lied über Demenz, über Liebe, über das Erinnern, wenn Erinnern schwerfällt. Getextet hat es Bänz Friedli – mit viel Feingefühl und Nähe. Sina erzählt die berührende Geschichte zum Song in der Sendung. Boris Blank taucht tief in die Klangwelt von Yello ein. Und nein, es muss nicht immer «Oh Yeah» sein – er erklärt, warum gerade «Liquid Lies» eines seiner Lieblingsstücke ist. Die Thunerin Veronica Fusaro hat beobachtet, dass viele Menschen nur noch für das Wochenende leben, statt jeden Tag zu geniessen – diese Beobachtung hat sie in ihren Song «Weekend» verpackt, die Geschichte dazu bei Swissmade. Pippo Pollina denkt in «D'altro canto» über die Leichtigkeit des Lebens nach – und darüber, nicht immer alles allzu ernst zu nehmen und Philipp Fankhauser erinnert sich gerne daran, wie der Song «Homeless» zu ihm fand – und wie glücklich er mit dem Resultat ist. Mattiu singt auf Rätoromanisch. «Va Lunsch» («Geh weit») ist ein Lied über Fernweh, über das Zufriedensein im Moment – und über die Liebe zur Musik. Und dann ist da noch Dabu Bucher, der mit Dabu Fantastic den Song «Jagge» geschrieben hat. Entstanden nach einem weinseligen und auch peinlichen Abend in Florenz, erzählt das Lied vom Sterben – und doch auch vom Leben. Die Jacke im Titel ist nur der Aufhänger für eine tiefere Auseinandersetzung mit Abschied und Erinnerung. Stefanie Heinzmann beschreibt das gemeinsame Songschreiben für «What I Do» als eine Art Therapie – ein Sich-Öffnen, ein Sich-Zeigen, ein Schritt zurück zu sich selbst. Währenddessen singt Anna Känzig mit schwerem Herzen. «Heavy Heart» ist ein Lied über das Loslassen – inklusive Tränen. Und zu guter Letzt fragt sich Adrian Sieber in «Were We Ever So Young?», ob wir je so jung waren, wie wir dachten – ein nostalgischer Blick zurück, mit einem Lächeln und einem Hauch Wehmut. Esta semana, en una nueva sesión de Rebelión Sónica, los invitamos a escuchar material de “Times”, el nuevo álbum del músico germano e integrante de los años más importantes de Kraftwerk, Wolfgang Flür. Lanzado por el sello Cherry Red Records el 28 de marzo, al igual que su predecesor “Magazine 1” de 2022, el LP muestra a Flür trabajando con Peter Hook ,(Joy Division, New Order) y el DJ Juan Atkins, a quienes se unen en el nuevo álbum Boris Blank de Yello, Thomas Vangarde (ex-Daft Punk), Anthony Rother y el colaborador de Kraftwerk, Emil Schult. "Los tiempos reflejan tanto la rápida aceleración del cambio en nuestro mundo como el poder duradero de la creatividad humana", señaló Flür acerca del disco. "Quería que este álbum conectara con los oyentes tanto a nivel musical como emocional, combinando la nostalgia con una visión del futuro".
