From traveling the world, to balancing empathy. I do have to warn you, this episode is packed with some explicit language- we get passionate, and it brings out some colorful language. It's all in good fun, but maybe don't have this on blast if you are at work, or spending time with your kids!!! She counts among her friends and mentors such legends of strength and conditioning like Dan John, Jon Bruney, Al and Danny Kavadlo. Here we talk about: how she discovered Systema (with the formidable Alex Popescu in Florida) how Systema can enhance the practice of kettlebells and calisthenics - and vice versa the value of breathing and efficiency in conditioning how balancing tension and relaxation is essential to mastery of any physical pursuit Follow Adrienne online at giryagirl.com

Most of the trainers and coaches you meet went straight into the fitness business after school, but bodyweight wizard Danny Kavadlo is the exception to that rule. He bounced around a dozen different jobs before beginning his career as a personal trainer at age 31, after the birth of his son. Since then, he’s taken the industry by storm, finding success as a trainer and entrepreneur, and authoring five books, including his latest, Get Strong. His background and experience have given him a no-nonsense approach to fitness and life that is as refreshing as it is motivating. Danny understands that people don’t just work out to get stronger, they work out to get better. He and Justin Lind talk shop about his philosophy of simplicity, positivity, and accountability. He illustrates the danger of relying on motivation, versus having the discipline and dedication to just do the work. Finally, he lays out why he views bodyweight training as the best overall program for physical improvement, why he won’t call his clients athletes, and why we should celebrate the beautiful commonality in our pursuits of fitness.
Can you get strong and jacked with nothing but your own bodyweight? Or is that just for beginners? Doesn’t bodyweight training just build endurance, but no real muscle and strength? Wrong, wrong, wrong. Do you really need tons of fancy equipment? Do you need an expensive gym membership? Or can calisthenics alone build a great physique? Hell yeah, they can. Danny and Al Kavadlo are my guests on this episode of Renegade Radio and are here to show you how it’s done. Topics Include: The best splits for getting jacked. The downside of always being ripped. How to simplify your nutrition for better results. The top bodyweight exercises for building muscle. How much cardio and conditioning do you really need? The biggest mistakes people make when doing calisthenics. How often you should change your program for the best results. The critical difference between skill training and strength training. How to optimally combine weight training with bodyweight exercises. How do you get strong and stay strong for life? Are you getting stronger in relation to where you are right now? How can you tell? We’re glad to have Danny Kavadlo back on the GMB Show as he and Ryan talk candidly about what it really takes to build both a strong body and a strong self. You’ll get Danny’s take on what he believes to be universal standards of strength and learn a concept he calls “adaptive strength” – building both internal and external strength that enables you to fully engage in what life has for you in the moment. In order to truly measure how you’re progressing in building strength, Danny recommends that you stop comparing your level of strength with that of others and where they’re at in their process. Focus on your own process and you’ll have all the feedback necessary for consistently getting stronger. In life you are confronted with the unexpected and what can’t be controlled. Are you strong enough to take whatever obstacle is in front of you, embrace it, take it in, rise over it, learn from it, and adapt to it? True strength is sustained by working on ourselves and our own evolution.Support the show (https://www.facebook.com/groups/gmbshow/)
