As a scholar and educator, Dan graciously helps me navigate difficult but important distinctions, including the differences between fascism, communism, and socialism. So yes, he is fulfilling his role as an educator, but beyond that, I value his friendship and time. Dan is a busy man, and I truly appreciate his enthusiasm to discuss this book with me and the philosophical conversations that tangent from the chapter we are exploring.
