2025/04/20 - On How You're Already Dead...and Alive (Romans 6:1-13) | Pastor Jesse Robinson by Indelible Grace Church
In one of Jesus' most famous parables, he taught us that the only proper response to a son being dead and coming to life again is celebration.
Sermon by Davy Lee on April 20, 2025.
God shows His resurrection glory in 2 locations. First, at the empty tomb outside Jerusalem. Second, in the transformed life of a disciple of Jesus. Pastor Joel reminds us of the new Easter reality: Who we are, What this means, How we then live.
Romans 6:3-5 Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, signifying His victory over sin and death. It marks the end of Lent and the beginning of a new season of hope and joy. This sermon will explore what it means to be fully untied with Christ in His death and in His resurrection and practically looks like in our lives

In Romans 6, Paul addresses the themes of grace, sin, and baptism, emphasizing that grace is not an excuse to continue in sin but a call to live a transformed life. He refutes the misconception that more sin leads to more grace, highlighting that true grace leads to repentance and holiness. Baptism is explained as a powerful declaration of faith, symbolizing our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is an outward expression of an inward change, much like a wedding ring symbolizes marriage. Christians are encouraged to avoid the edge of sin, striving to stay close to God and live a life of holiness. While acknowledging our imperfections, we are reminded that God's grace is sufficient, and we should continually seek His guidance and strength. Reflect on the true meaning of grace, embrace its transformative power, and let it lead to a deeper relationship with Christ.

Jakob King teaches from Romans 6 that God's grace to us is not freedom to continue to sin; rather, it is freedom from sin.
A message from Romans 6:1-14 by Pastor Jared Burke at Bethany Bible Fellowship, Westminster, California
Back in the wild west, there were wanted posters for bad guys. They usually had a picture of the wanted criminal and some other description of them and their crime. One of the first wanted posters for Jesse James was for $500 for his conviction. He had to be alive and taken to court. Another later rendition the wanted poster after he had become a worst criminal had the reward of $25,000 for him dead or alive. That makes it easy for the bounty hunter but deadly for the criminal. We as sinners before we confessed Christ as Lord and Savior were worthy of death. Sin had separated us from God. But at one point we came to a decision to stop sinning as a lifestyle and turn our lives over to God and his son Jesus. At that point we passed from death until life. We were reconciled to God and brought into his family. Unfortunately our minds can still hold on to the former corrupt habits. Does sin still hold you as a prisoner? Do you still identify as a criminal as a sinner? The truth is you are wanted by God. But he wants you alive to him. He wants you to turn from your sin and live as his child. You have a new identity in Christ. In today's episode I will explore the paradox of being dead and alive. Give a listen.
In today's episode, we're diving deep into what it truly means to be alive in Christ, and how that changes everything. It's not just about existing; it's about thriving in a whole new way because of the life-giving Spirit within us. How can we rely on the Spirit of God in this moment? How does this reality transform our perspective and actions today? If you haven't joined us for the Praying the Promises Free Challenge, there's still time! What does it mean to die in Christ? You are no longer under the power of the physical world . (v. 20, 2 Peter 3:10 ) If you died with Christ to the elements of this world, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations: Since you died with Christ to the elemental…
