God doesn't just want you to survive — He wants your life to overflow with His presence, His joy, His peace, and His power. In Ephesians 3:20–21, Paul declares that God is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” This isn't a distant promise — it's a present reality. God's power is already at work in you. In this message, Pastor Joel shares three ways to step into that kind of life: • Knowing the Goal • Trusting His Promise • Living by His Power Stay connected: Website: sm4.org Instagram: @santamariafoursquare Facebook: Santa Maria Foursquare Church Give: sm4.org/giving SOON TO BE VIDA CHURCH

The letter of Romans strengthened the ancient church, brought reformation to the dark ages, has brought hope for 2000 years, and can change your life! This week Pastor Joel continues Part 2 of his message series in Romans, “Bold Faith That Wins”. What is the price of unbelief? We're afraid of failure because we've been baptized in a culture of success. Especially when it comes to sharing our faith with others. But Pastor Joel reminds us that even though we are commanded to share the good news about Jesus, sometimes there is a level of unbelief that only a miracle of God is can reverse. You should take some relief from that! What else does Paul say about unbelief, let's listen in…This is a special four part series that will span the year of 2025. In Acts 17:6, some nonbelievers plainly state the perception of Christians in their time: “These people turn the world upside down!” What a statement! And what a far cry from how the good news is experienced today. In this message, Pastor Joel examines a story from Acts 19 about how Paul, preaching the good news in a city called Ephesus, disrupted two of the main things that people relied on in their everyday lives: magic and idols, which at the end of the day are just means to control our worlds. What do we rely on today that is like magic and idols, and how might the good news of Jesus disrupt our reliance on them? This message is aimed at getting you to think about that question.

In "It Can Change", Pastor Joel Sims directs us to prayer and understanding the roles of power and authority in prayer to the Father, helping us to begin to find success in prayer.

Acts is filled with amazing stories of the kingdom spreading. There are stories where people miraculously speak other languages for cross cultural ministry. There are stories about dangerous sea travel, giant storms and shipwreck. There are stories of dramatic confrontations with corrupt, villainous authorities and unjust imprisonment. Stories of earthquakes, riots, and journeying around the world. But for all the seemingly “extraordinary” stories, there are plenty of stories of the kingdom coming through the “ordinary” stuff of life. And in this message, we study one of those: Through someone's job. In this message, Pastor Joel explains how we're all wired for work, and in fact our work—or our vocation—is an essential way Jesus can bring his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Join in—there's something in this message for everyone!
In this Wednesday Prayer teaching, Pastor Joel Sims begins a new teaching on Dealing with the Devil, where we see in scripture that Satan is to be resisted, and he will flee. He's also subtle and crafty; if you think you see him, you probably don't. Learn more in this insightful episode!

In the last hours before he was crucified, Jesus prayed to God for togetherness among his disciples that would make us effective in pursuing the tasks he has assigned to us. We all will have opportunities to make this prayer a reality—whether in our church, at our workplaces, our neighborhoods or apartment buildings, on our campuses, and more—with the other believers God brings into our lives. It's possible he's done so for a kingdom purpose. But it's not easy, and lots of things can cause us to be hesitant to move forward. In this message, Pastor Joel talks about the fight for togetherness we see from the churches of Antioch and Jerusalem in Acts 15 and how they navigated the tricky pressures of politics and tradition to make Jesus's vision a reality.

On occasion we address Covenant Church family questions during the Sunday morning message. We want to engage our folks where they are, and these questions help our pastors be more effective, by understanding where they struggle. There are many decisions Covenant makes, positions we take et al that do not make the difference between heaven and hell, and on which other churches sometimes take a different approach. Because our church is multi-denominational, we have many rich faith traditions represented among our people. In this last message of this series, Joel talks about the Holy Spirit and how it's good to have questions about Him. At Res City, we want to relentlessly pursue four key values that we think lead someone to discipleship: Knowing Jesus through abiding and learning, Growing more like him and bearing his fruit, Going in service and invitation, doing it all Together. Sometimes, we like to be clear in a message about those values and specifically highlight some of them when we see them in our passage. And when we see the second recorded church in the history of the kingdom of God, Antioch, showing us these clear values we think it makes sense to take a minute to stop and highlight them. So in this message, Pastor Joel does just that. We see how the church in Antioch was a church on the Go: Serving and Inviting people. We unpack how we see them do so, what it looks like for us to follow suit, and reflect on some questions we can ask ourselves how we are doing in those areas based on what we see in Antioch. *Note: Due to some technical difficulties during the live recording, the first few minutes of this message are cut off.

In this episode, Pastor Joel Sims shares about the power of your daily habits. He shows how your life could change by doing one thing: Give God Your Mornings.
In this podcast episode, Pastor Joel dives into the importance of prophecy from First Corinthians chapters 12-14. If you are in a fight, or a dry season, you need a prophetic word from God!

In this message, we dive into the subject of vision. God has placed His creative power inside of you—the ability to see what could be, to bring it to pass. You'll see how sight led the 10 spies to perceive themselves as grasshoppers after spying out the Promised Land. Caleb, however, through vision, saw certain victory, and caused God to say of him, "My servant Caleb has a different spirit"!
What step of obedience is God prompting you to take by faith today? It is easy to understand life through what we can see with our physical eyes. However, we see examples from Moses for how to see by faith in God's wisdom and understand which is far greater than our understanding. Pastor Joel draws out four challenges from Moses' journey with the Israelites, to help us see our world through the eyes of faith. Consider how your perception changes as you engage each challenge!
Pastor Joel shares a foundational truth: God works through His Word, confirming it with signs as we speak it. He invites us to go deeper in prayer based on John 15:7, abiding in God's presence until we receive His heart and words for our prayer assignment. Here, we become pregnant with purpose—partnering with Him to see His desires fulfilled on earth.
In "Get Over Your Selfie," Pastor Joel encourages us to step beyond our comfort zones and prioritize others above ourselves. He reminds us that God has richly blessed us, and because of this, we have the opportunity to be a blessing to those around us. As you dive into this legacy archive, we pray it brings you fresh perspective and renewed encouragement.
