In the letter of 1 Peter, Peter writes that the prophets announced something glorious that is for our benefit and not theirs. They were speaking, of course, of the coming of Jesus. Do we really take it seriously that something glorious that other generations longed for is here? The prophets, if they were alive today, would tell us to “wake up!” They would tell us to not take it for granted. They would tell us to live as if the world has changed forever. In this message Pastor Joel gets us to consider how we might do that, specifically by cultivating joy this Christmas season.
Jesus is called the messiah, which means savior, but what exactly is Jesus saving us from, and who did he tell that He was coming? Come and listen to Pastors Joel & Chase as they celebrate Christmas by examining biblical prophecy of Jesus.

The letter of Romans strengthened the ancient church, brought reformation to the dark ages, has brought hope for 2000 years, and can change your life! This is a special four part series that spans the year of 2025. In Romans, Paul has been teaching us about the unity of the Body of Christ—not as uniformity, but as a recognition of our God-given differences, which can span everything from political affiliation to personal preferences. In chapter 16, Paul takes an interesting turn and reminds us that unity is never completely free of conflict. We often assume that peace means the absence of conflict, or that unity means we never disagree. But true unity takes work—pressing through conflict and handling it in the right way.Let's listen in…LINKS + RESOURCES FROM THIS EPISODE:• Recommended reading for this series• Amanda Ripley's book “High Conflict: Why We Get Trapped and How We Get Out”• Download the free study guide, complete transcript, and show notes here.• Scripture References: Romans 16, verses 17-23; Titus 3, verse 10; Matthew 10, verse 16• Find out more about Covenant Church at covenantexperience.com
John the Baptist had a unique calling. He came not to give people what they'd always wanted—the good news of Jesus—but to help people wait well for it. Which, if we're honest, is kind of weird. Why wait? What good would that be? That's probably what we think when we hear that. But if we can understand God's intention, we can begin to understand how necessary waiting actually is. John's ministry shows us two values in waiting: In waiting we hear God's voice, and in waiting God prepares us for what we're waiting for. In this message, Pastor Joel explains how we can learn from John how to celebrate advent this Christmas season, and how we can learn to wait well for Jesus to return one day, too.
Please join us and Pastor Joel as we dive into the word.
We all know what happened at Christmas, but why does it matter. Pastor Joel shows us Christmas gives us certain Hope! So what is biblical hope? Why do we need it? What difference will hope make in my life? How do we tap into our hope?

This week's message from Pastor Joel dives deep into the unstoppable, unshakeable love of God. He reminds us that our walk with God always begins with His love for us—we love Him because He first loved us. And once God places His hand on your life, His grip never loosens. No circumstance, no failure, no season can break His hold on you. Pastor Joel challenges us to move beyond feelings or religious activity and step into true agape love—the kind that shows up through obedience, consistency, and how we treat people. He paints a picture of a church fully shaped by God's love: ✨ A family that refuses to give up on each other ✨ A place where we speak to each other's future, not failures ✨ A community that stays gracious under pressure ✨ A people ready for divine assignments because their hearts are aligned with God's heart

The core of Pastor Joel's message centered on hope, symbolized by the lighting of the hope candle. He shared the story of Abram from Genesis 15, focusing on the profound covenant God made with him. Pastor Joel explained the cultural significance of this ancient ritual, where God alone walked between the animal carcasses, placing the covenant's fulfillment entirely on His shoulders. This act, he noted, serves as a powerful reminder of God's steadfast promises and should inspire a deep trust in His faithfulness.
We are all on a generosity journey. The question is, in which direction are we headed? Towards the "Bigger, Better, New" cycle of greed, or towards dependence on the Father?

When we go through trials and uncertainty, it can be easy to just focus on ourselves and the problems we face. But there can be and is more going on in these situations than we realize, and in 1 Peter 5, Peter, the apostle and friend of Jesus, wants to help us understand the bigger picture. The reality is, in the middle of our uncertainty and troubles there are two other important factors to consider. One of them is a hindrance and one of them is from God as a help. First, Peter talks about the hindrance, which is the devil himself, prowling around like a predator in search of a lunch to snap up, trying to capitalize on our uncertainties and trials by leading us into sin. Second he shares about the shepherd-leaders Jesus has called to care for and protect his people, humbly loving us to help us become more like Jesus. Both are important to understand in our uncertainty and troubles. In this message, Pastor Joel breaks both of them down.

In "Who's Your Master", the first episode of our new Generosity Journey series, Pastor Joel reveals that God is trying to train us to trust Him with our finances and with His provision for our lives. Jesus taught on money more than heaven, hell, prayer, and faith. Why? Because money touches everyone and exposes the priorities and affections of our hearts.
Enjoy a bonus clip, "Forgiveness", mentioned by Pastor Joel in a recent prayer service. Terry Law shows us that forgiving may be the most important step in receiving grace from God. This message was originally delivered on First Wednesday, February 1, 2017.

Throughout this series we've been discussing what is reliable and can give us hope in an uncertain world. When we dig into the reasons Peter wrote this beautiful letter to the different churches who initially received it, what's clear is that pressure and persecution were the main source of the uncertainty they faced and why Peter wrote them. We may or may not experience pressure such as they did, but at some point all Christians are going to feel like a stranger in the world we live in. So what do we do when we experience this tension? How do we live in peace with our stranger identity? In this message, Pastor Joel walks through Peter's teaching.

In this final episode of the "Acts" series, Pastor Joel's teaching reveals that, in the book of Acts, when the apostles emphasized the same things Jesus did —namely, the Holy Spirit and the Name of Jesus —it resulted in signs and wonders, which is infallible proof that Jesus is alive.
