Revival
This sermon emphasizes the importance of living by faith as the highest calling and greatest privilege for Christians. Pastor Joel encourages believers to enter into the faith of Abraham, which involves submitting to God's word, aligning one's thinking with Scripture, and speaking like God. The sermon highlights the need to be filled with God's word as protection against the enemy's attacks and to maintain a sound mind in the face of life's challenges.
All through the Scriptures, there's an exceptional connection between being empty and hearing. In order for us to see what God has for us, and then walk out that vision, we must climb the mountain, leaving the base earthly things of this world behind, as Jesus often did to pray.
At some point in our lives, we've all faced this internal question: "Am I Good Enough?" In this Legacy Archive, Pastor Joel Sims gives us incredible teaching based on a man in the bible who struggles with the same battle. This message empowers us to see ourselves how God sees us.
In this week's Legacy Archive, we hear from Pastor Joel, who encourages us to live a life full of habits that enable us to walk in our calling. He mentions that "you don't decide your future, you decide your habits, and your habits decide your future." Day by day, decision by decision, you can live life to the fullest, honoring and pleasing God.
Life can wound us, and when that pain goes untreated, grows, and can harden our hearts. In this episode, "How to Forgive Life", Pastor Joel Sims talks about what it means to face the hurt that didn't heal right and discover how Jesus meets us in the middle of it. He's not distant from our pain—He's moved by it, and wants to fight for us.
The crowd's shouting, the palms are waving, and Jesus finally lets them call Him King—but He rolls in on a donkey, not a war horse. What kind of King shows up like that? As we reflect on Palm Sunday, we unpack how a humble King came to bring victory, peace, and freedom in a way that was not expected.Support the show

The book of Ezra-Nehemiah reveals a simple truth to us: Whenever we set out to do a work God has called us to, we should not be surprised at opposition or challenge associated with it. The opposition can be trials and tribulations, it can be spiritual opposition, and it is even often ourselves—our own tendency to get in way and mess things up. This is exactly what happens in the midst of the revival or renewal that God was working for the community in Ezra-Nehemiah, and it will happen to us as we seek to take Jesus seriously and build our lives only on the rock of his teaching and gospel. In this message, Pastor Joel shares the opportunities different kinds of opposition can present to us.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound? What is it that makes grace so sweet, and how does it make a sound? Join Pastor Joel as he shares why grace is so sweet, and to whom it belongs!

The enemy works through pain, whispering lies that grow into deception, aiming to hinder our prayers, weaken our faith, and lead us toward destruction. But when we choose forgiveness instead, we refuse to sow seeds that sabotage our future and instead walk in the power of truth and freedom.
In this episode, Pastor Joel Sims continues his message from the morning service, How to Forgive Others. In his teaching, Pastor reveals not only why to forgive, but what forgiveness looks like, and what forgiveness is not.

The first thing we see the returned exiles in Ezra-Nehemiah do is restore their patterns of worship, in time and place. In this message, Pastor Joel explains why, and how establishing patterns of worship will help us to love Jesus better, for as St. Thomas Aquinas writes, “Love is born of an earnest consideration of the object loved.”
From Wednesday's Prayer service, Pastor Joel Sims, in his teaching "Send Forth Laborers," leads us in praying for God to send forth laborers into His harvest, focusing on the 10-40 window in the Eastern Hemisphere. Will you be one of those that God can flow through, both as a laborer and in prayer?
In "Bound With Purpose", discover true purpose is found in surrender—letting go of our own desires and being bound in the Spirit to God's will. The more we walk by the Spirit, the less we judge by the natural, drawing wisdom from the heart and living with eternal impact.
In Pastor Joel Sim's message Consecration from the Fondren 6pm service, he challenges us to confront whatever hinders us from becoming a house of prayer. Through the lives of Moses and David, we see how their consecration opened the door for God to cause their life to take on a weight of glory.

Whether you go by statistics or just general vibes, many would say the church in America is not in a great spot. But God is always on the move. Ezra and Nehemiah are two books in the Old Testament that show us how God rebuilds. Jesus tells us that if we want to be people who endure, we should build our discipleship and churches on his teaching and gospel, a foundation he compares to a solid rock (Matthew 7:24-27). This series is a chance for us to look at where God is rebuilding his church and ask, “how can we be a part of it?" in a way that lasts. In this opening message, Pastor Joel introduces this series and unpacks three initial ways we see how the Jewish people, irrelevant and small, were led by God to rebuild themselves, and what we can learn from it today.
Godly sorrow opens our eyes to our need for His cleansing and purification. When Isaiah stood before God, his deep awareness of sin led to repentance, and only then was he made ready to carry out God's calling.
There are moments of decision where destiny is shaped. Don't resist the convictions stirring within you. Are you truly running the race to fulfill God's assignment, or just going through the motions? God desires for your life to carry a weight of glory.

A popular notion in the world we live in today is that we need to love ourselves to love others. There's some wisdom in this—we do need to be loved to love others. There has to be something in us to spill out to our neighbors. But far better than any love we can love ourselves with through boosting our ego is accepting a far greater force of love: God's love for us. When we accept his love for us, we can have the love we need to love our neighbors in the way Jesus calls us to. In this message, Pastor Joel explains it all from the book of 1 John.
Pastor Joel examines Micah 6:1-8, where he outlines the themes of God's justice, true worship, and future hope. He draws parallels between the Israelites' situation and modern relationships, discussing how indifference in faith can set in like routine in a marriage. Joel urges authenticity and transparency in faith as a way to invite others, including the skeptics, into a meaningful community. Ending with a call for humility, justice, and kindness, Joel challenges the congregation to engage authentically with the world while remaining faithful to God's commands, encouraging a community built on understanding, gratitude, and active participation.
What is “the church”? How are we supposed to know what is right and what is wrong? Do we just feel it out? Do we just do what works for us? Come listen to this incredible study of the book of First Corinthians, as Pastor's Joel & Chase look to see what church really looks like!
In "I'll Be Your Laborer," Pastor Joel Sims challenges us to shift our prayers from personal gain to a heart for people, answering God's call to be laborers in His harvest. As we pray for more workers, will we also allow God to send us to be vessels of healing and hope? Will you pray, "Here I am, Lord, You can send me. I'll be Your laborer"?

In this episode of the Nancy Grandquist podcast we continue our thrilling series, "We Worship One God," with a profound discussion with Pastor Joel Urshan of Tree of Life Church in Cincinnati, OH. Bro Urshan comes from a long line of Apostolic preachers including Andrew Urshan and N. A. Urshan. The discussion begins with Pastor Joel emphasizing the importance of understanding and teaching the oneness of God, as instructed in Deuteronomy, to counter the polytheistic influences of other cultures. [03:36] He explains that God is unique, holy, invisible, and the creator, unlike the idols of other nations. [04:08]Pastor Joel further elaborates on the concept of the oneness of God by discussing the Shema, the declaration of God's oneness, and its significance in Jewish tradition. [02:28] He highlights that God's oneness is foundational to understanding His nature and His plan for humanity. [03:34] The conversation transitions into the theological implications of God's oneness, particularly in the context of Jesus Christ. [10:20] Pastor Joel explains that Jesus is the manifestation of God in the flesh, fulfilling the role of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. [06:10]The episode also explores the relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, emphasizing that they are not separate persons but different manifestations of the one true God. [22:14] Pastor Joel uses various analogies, including the daily cycle, seasons, and the branches of government, to illustrate the unity and distinct roles of God's manifestations. [12:26] He concludes by discussing the significance of Jesus' humanity, His prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane, and His ultimate sacrifice on the cross, which fulfilled God's redemptive plan for humanity. [23:48]

The letter of Romans strengthened the ancient church, brought reformation to the dark ages, has brought hope for 2000 years, and can change your life! This week Pastor Joel begins Part 2 of his message series in the book of the Bible called Romans, “Bold Faith That Wins”. Paul's going to teach us that victory over “that thing that dogs you” starts with recognizing and choosing to live in the new identity that God has given you. Our enemy whispers in our ear, “Are you really sure that you are who God says you are?” And then, of course, the really fun part for him is once it's all over and done and we have failed miserably, he gets in our ear and he gets louder and he says, “I told you you were not who He said you were.” Here are four practices to fight your sin and live in freedom: receive the power of grace, repeat the habits of grace, refuse to depart from grace, and renew obedience under grace. This is a special four part series that will span the year of 2025.
