Can I Pod With Madness - Kerrang, Metal Hammer and rock in the 1980s
We're looking at the early 80s work of Genesis and immediately make an absolute booboo regarding their hit Mama - I know it wasn't Rapper's Delight, it was The Message by Grandmaster Flash that was the inspiration for the laughy bit! Don't @ me! Regardless their “The Mama Tour” video is praised to high heaven despite having one of their more embarrassing tunes on it. You know, the one about aliens. No, the *other* one about aliens. Tina Turner is live and unleashed, in an era before she was the 80s' favourite purveyor of raunchy soft rock. Still waiting around for Private Dancer et al, she's mostly doing cover versions. This leads us to remember Steve Coogan's mostly forgotten comedy character, Tony Ferrino. We delve into the oeuvre of Thor, Norse god of thunder and, apparently, rock. Wendy O. Williams has been doing stuff with KISS, Manowar has been doing stuff with Orson Welles and Kate Bush gets an interview. Tune in to find out which is her favourite season! This is still Kerrang we're talking about, by the way! Along the way we'll talk robots, graphic design, Eminem, Lenny Kravitz (yet again) and Eamon Holmes. Er... rock and roll...? I want to introduce you to Trish Lynch, a very experienced broadcaster, interviewer, presenter and moderator, who shares the amazing story of how she almost fell into this business. She went to a casting with a friend who was actually going for the job, and because no one turned up, they invited Trish to interview. She ended up with a video of her on a news desk with Eamon Holmes and David Frost. That one video got her foot in the door, and there has been no stopping her since. Not that it was an easy ride - she had to learn and build the skills that have served her over the years. It's likely that not many of us know what a moderator is. It's a facilitator, a host, or an MC – basically the person in charge of everything that is happening on a stage. Her biggest tip is for interviewers is, always research, because you are often in a situation where you need to fill in, and if you don't know anything about your speakers – then you will be left floundering. We've all heard of ‘resting bitch face' – well Trish tells me about the ‘listening face'… To contact Trish:Website: https://www.trishlynch.co.uk/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/trishsinclair/If you would like to contact me: www.Scottmedia.uk or if you'd like to join my Facebook group: Fiona Scott's PR Tribe

Enjoy An Album with Liam Withnail & Christopher Macarthur-Boyd
Recorded in front of a live audience at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022 in Monkey Barrel Studios on August 6th! Christopher Macarthur-Boyd and Liam Withnail listened to nu-metal classic Meteora by Linkin Park, which is somehow not on the Rolling Stone magazine list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. It is, however, the highest selling album in the history of the Billboard Alternative Chart and has sold over 17 million copies internationally. The Enjoy An Album boys did a deep dive on the band and the album, and talked about everything from Chinese superfans of Chester Bennington to BBC Hard Spell, the British spelling bee championships hosted by Eamon Holmes in 2004. All that plus Secret Posho, YouTube Comment of the Week and Tattoo Woohoo/Tattoo Boohoo. Enjoy! Live!
It's as simple as this. Adam. Kefin. Eamon Holmes. The fans.
100 episodes of Just The Fitness Tip. What an achievement. There was only one way to mark the occasion. Something we mentioned back on episode 24 and what we've been working on solidly since episode 94; we're joined by the legend, Mr Motivator aka Derrick Evans MBE. He talks about how we hounded him to come on the show and tells us the hounding he did to get on GMTV back in the 90s, at a time when advertisers did not want a black man doing aerobics on morning telly. He gives us rare insight into his personal life, how he was given up at 3 months old, moving to the UK from Jamaica and growing up in Leicester. He tells us the key things that took him from being a homeless single parent in his early 20s to training Gloria Hunniford, Lorraine Kelly, Eamon Holmes and being the face of fitness for a generation. We hear about his recent work with charities like Social Bite and starting his Motivator Club aimed at getting older people moving and caring more about their health. He tells us what he really thinks about modern fitness personalities like Joe Wicks & James Smith, his favourite Gladiator and the biggest scoop of all, what he keeps in his bumbag.
Sherrie Hewson is a national treasure from Coronation Street to Carry On Films, Russ Abbot's Madhouse to Benidorm, laughter and happy times mixed with a wonderful career in TV & Film, Sherrie talks about John Thaw, Les Dennis, Michael Barrymore, Keith Harris & Orville. Her lockdown baby in the shape of her Wonderbirds chat show with her friends has seen her through these strange times but it's nice to hear her story and why her comedy career did have the potential to be even bigger than it is today.Enjoy another Eyes & Teeth Special to end Season 5 with Sherrie Hewson
There's a look at politics at home and across the Atlantic in this week's #IsleofMan Newspapers Podcast. We also discuss organ donation, Covid-19 testing, Eamon Holmes and the pressing issue of would you rather get a tattoo of Howard Quayle or David Ashford. We look back at what was making the news in the island in November 1960, plus we hear some more fairy stories.
Testing, testing. ***AUDIO QUALITY WILL VARY*** This week we discuss Jack's gammy foot and his tragic birthday. There's talk of Mum's secret ham and good butter. The things that Annoyed Us This Week are lawns and loud phone speakers. Plus there's much debate on whether Eamon Holmes is Y'Alright or whether he is not Y'Alright or not. Is he? Who knows? Hello, and welcome to Brining Design Closer. My name is Gerry Scullion and I’m a service design practitioner based in Dublin City, Ireland. Today, I caught up with Kate Dawson, a doctoral researcher from the NUI school of psychology in Galway Ireland. Now, I actually stumbled across Kate’s work on This Morning, the UK TV show with Eamon Holmes and Ruth Langford. In that episode, Kate was speaking about how we should maybe consider teaching about masturbation and porn as part of more open discussions around sex education and our bodies with children in school.
