Do we Celebrate Halloween as a Family or no? How do you celebrate Halloween as a family and is it bad to do? RE-RUN ALERT!!Halloween hasn't changed over the years and our conversation about it/beliefs on the topic remain the same. Do you need help deciding how your family celebrates Halloween? Then this podcast is for you! First off, your family needs to personally seek God and obey what he is saying for your family. There is no right or wrong. Obeying God is top priority! Secondly, if you do decide to dress up and go house to house here are some mindsets you can empower your kids with. Focus on Light vs. Darkness: Emphasize themes of light, drawing from verses like John 1:5 ("The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it"). Use Halloween as a time to connect with neighbors and friends. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages fellowship and building each other up, which can be reflected in community activities. Share the gospel or pray for people as you go door to door. Encourage creative expression through costumes and decorations. This encourages creativity and imagination in them - and honestly it is just so fun to dress up. Teach children about discernment, focusing on Philippians 4:8, which encourages thinking about things that are true, noble, and right. Discuss the difference between fun and fear and avoid anything that glorifies evil. These are simple mindsets to help place in our kids' minds as we approach this holiday! Saying Yes to Water and the Gospel: Dr. Pete Savard's JourneyDr. Pete Savard, a 1990 graduate of Cedarville University, never imagined his life would be defined by clean water and the Gospel. A nurse educator and medical innovator, Pete once designed mobile hospitals for the U.S. government. But when that chapter closed, God began to stir something deeper in his heart. What started as a broad vision to improve healthcare around the world soon narrowed into a single, life-sustaining mission: providing clean water to those in desperate need.Years ago, Pete faced a personal “Nineveh moment.” India — a hot, rice-laden, unfamiliar place — was not where he wanted to go. But God had opened the door. Pete said yes. He took that first trip with his daughter and an engineer, not knowing it would change everything. What he saw there was heartbreaking: children sick from sewage-filled water, mothers unable to work, fathers out of jobs due to typhoid.Every hour in India, 171 children under five die from dirty water — over 4,100 every day. Pete couldn't unsee that. He had to act. That first water purification project in India took three years to fund. Pete, by his own admission, is a “terrible fundraiser.” But God provided through unexpected gifts — even a check from a widow who had just lost her husband. The water plant opened, and lives began to change. Illnesses disappeared. Children returned to school. Parents returned to work. From that humble beginning, Global Water Consortium (GWC) has grown to serve over 4 million people through projects in India, Nepal, Honduras, and soon, Kenya. Each GWC site produces and sells clean water sustainably — millions of liters annually — while opening doors for Gospel conversations. In Kenya, Pete spoke to high schoolers about health, respect, and the love of Jesus. After two days, 416 students accepted Christ — and asked that a pastor visit their homes to share the Gospel with their families.Pete doesn't see himself as a preacher. “I know health,” he says. “God uses that.” His ministry's model is rooted in Romans 12 — using the gifts God has given to serve others. And the results? Physical health, spiritual hope, and communities transformed.Pete recently shared his story on the Cedarville Stories podcast. He said yes to God even when it was hard. And through his obedience, entire villages now drink safe water — and Living Water.https://share.transistor.fm/s/758c6c2dhttps://youtu.be/qCZCzf6-O5k

Welcome back, my fireflies
Hello to you listening in Roseau, Capital of Dominica, Lesser Antilles!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. Many people are under the impression that the Hero's Journey made famous by Joseph Campbell is about an external journey to vanquish foes and return with some Truth. In truth, the real journey is an internal one. The Hero is called to a task that is not at the surface of her being; rather, the task requires her to do what I have called for some 30 years now an “archeological dig on oneself.” It's serious stuff. No wonder the Hero resists. We think we can remain emotionally safe by hiding our vulnerability. The problem is that as long as we resist the call (and I know well how I resisted the call to leave behind my Voiceless Victim self) we will never be able to live our Truth, never experience our Essence.Yes, the Hero goes out on a quest; but that external journey is just the stage on which the story is played. Saying Yes! to the Hero's Journey begins the inner journey work, the transformation that allows us to move out of our fear to courage, from being stuck in our old identity to living alive and awake, realizing our true potential, fulfilling our destiny, or experiencing our longed-for heart's desire.Story Prompt: What are you finally ready to trade by saying Yes! to walking the Hero's Journey? Write that story! And tell it out loud! And, if you could use a hand with your transformation work, I'm here at Quarter Moon Story Arts! Contact me. Burnout has a way of making even the smallest task feel impossible. We open with a lifeline for parents raising neurodivergent children, then sit down with campaigner and founder Agnes Agyepong to trace how postnatal depression and isolation became the spark for two powerful vehicles of change: the Glow Mama Awards and a research-led movement tackling maternal and SEND inequalities.Agnes shares the surprising role social media played in her recovery—authentic posts, wry humour, and micro-moments of solidarity that made her feel seen. That insight grows into Glow Mama, a people's choice awards platform celebrating the creators who keep mothers going at 3 a.m. From there, Agnes dives into the Black maternal health crisis and the environmental factors that stack the odds against families long before labour begins, culminating in the Black Child Clean Air Report and cross-sector partnerships. The throughline is clear: these are public health problems that show up in clinics, classrooms, and on our streets. We dig into SEND inequity with lived experience. Agnes talks about being treated with suspicion when her son was self-harming, becoming a school governor to be heard, and the way adultification bias and rigid behaviour policies fast-track exclusions before support arrives. We challenge the outdated, industrial model of schooling and argue for personalised education that works for every brain. Practical guidance runs throughout: why a Year 3 screening won't secure legal protections, how an Educational Psychologist's report unlocks exam access and durable support, and how to build an evidence trail that proves whether a school can meet need.If you want clear next steps, we've got them: back petitions so policymakers see the data, write your MP so SEND rises in local triage, connect with specialist groups for Education Other Than At School pathways, and join community networks that share tactics without gatekeeping. Neurodivergent thinkers are not problems to be fixed; they are the innovators we need. Subscribe, share with a caregiver who needs hope, and leave a review to help more families find real tools and real change. And if you are ready to recharge yourself, not just your parenting, join me in person at the Recharge & Connect SEND Parenting Summit on Tuesday, November 11th, 10:00–2:30 PM in Henley-on-Thames — or via livestream from the comfort of your home. Nat and Kristen dig into workplace martyrdom - that toxic cycle where you're simultaneously convinced you're irreplaceable AND furious about doing everything. They break down the origins (erm, sorry millennials, you're apparently the worst culprits!), from childhood safety mechanisms to the scarcity trap that keeps you hoarding information. Plus, the 'pink and blue jobs' problem, and how helicopter parenting accidentally created Gen Z's boundary obsession. If you've ever kept score while pretending you're fine, this one's for you. Released Oct 8, 2025. Welcome back! In this episode, I'm diving into the frequency of YES — the energetic permission slip that changes everything. So often we focus on what we don't want, trying to control, fix, or avoid what feels uncomfortable. But the real power comes when we start saying yes — yes to the life that's calling, yes to the divine invitations showing up, yes to the version of you that's ready now. This conversation weaves science and spirituality, breaking down how your words and focus literally rewire your brain through neural pathways and activate your reticular activating system — shaping the reality you experience every day. When you start saying yes to expansion, to joy, to abundance, to your heart's pull — life begins rearranging itself to meet you there. I'm sharing how to recognize your divine invitations, what happens when you resist them, and how to start playing “The Yes Game” — a simple daily practice that opens you to more synchronicity, guidance, and flow. This isn't about saying yes to everything. It's about saying yes to what feels alive, to what feels light, to the frequency of your next evolution. Mentioned In The Episode

This Sunday, we'll explore how our first step is to say yes. Not just yes to a task, but yes to a person — someone who calls us to himself and to his mission.- Series Description - In our new series, So, You Want to Be A Christian?, we'll cover the beginning steps of following Jesus. At times, these are the steps we're begging self-proclaimed Christians in the public arena to follow. Other times, these are our steps as we grow in discipleship for the first time or as we're humbled by God to focus on the basics once again. Either way, we need to know how to grow in faith and how to respond to Jesus' words, “Follow me.” Whether this journey of following Jesus is brand new for us or whether we've been following Jesus for decades, each day is another chance to respond to his call for an upside-down kind of life reflective of His otherworldly Kingdom.

I want you to think about this question for today's episode of Sell With Authority: what's the real cost of saying “yes”? Every time you add another service, take on an iffy-fit client, or chase a trend just because “every agency is doing it” — you're adding more weight onto your team. At first it doesn't feel heavy, but over time the load builds. And eventually, growth stalls — not because you're not working hard enough, but because you're carrying too much of the wrong stuff. That's why agencies get stuck in money-draining mistakes — like throwing darts at a board and calling it strategy, selling everything to everyone, or constantly chasing clients instead of magnetically attracting the right ones. Here's the thing — even some of the most successful agencies in the country have been there. Our guest expert today, Dr. Mark Young, Founder and CEO of Jekyll+Hyde Labs, built one of the nation's top challenger brand agencies. But eventually, he realized they were diluted — saying yes out of fear instead of strategy. So, Mark did something bold. He set what author Dr. Benjamin Hardy calls an “Impossible Goal” — $100 million in revenue in just three years. Not 15. Not 10. Three. And then he used that Impossible Goal like a scalpel. If it didn't align, he cut it. The results? Within weeks Jekyll+Hyde shed bad-fit clients, won bigger ones, and began scaling with conviction — not fear. Today, Mark is here to share how you can apply the same lessons inside your own agency. Hannah Roth, our Director of Strategy and Mad Scientist, is here too. Hannah's in the trenches every day with our Predictive clients, and she leads all of our experiments inside the Predictive Lab. It makes perfect sense to bring her into this candid conversation. This episode is packed full of takeaways you and your team can put into practice right away. What you will learn in this episode: Why saying “yes” can quietly stall your growth How to to identify the invisible costs of overcommitting to clients, services, or trends How to use an “Impossible Goal” as a strategic lens to simplify decisions, eliminate distractions, and focus your entire team on what truly moves the needle Ways to recognize when your agency is diluted — and the proven steps Dr. Mark Young took to reclaim focus, authority, and profitability Why most agencies optimize what shouldn't exist — and how to confidently cut services or clients that don't align with your strategy Resources: Website: https://jandhlabs.com/ LinkedIn Personal: https://www.linkedin.com/in/markyoungwci/ LinkedIn Business: https://www.linkedin.com/company/jekyll-and-hyde-labs/ HYPNO-TISING: The Secrets and Science of Ads That Sell More…: https://www.amazon.com/HYPNO-TISING-Secrets-Science-That-Sell/dp/1544526091
For this episode of Sell With Authority I am thrilled to bring you Part 2 of my interview with Dr. Mark Young, Founder and CEO of Jekyll+Hyde Labs. During Part 1, Mark dropped a rock-solid challenge: “What are you teaching — and not doing yourself?” He reminded us that fear-based choices dilute our value. But when we decide from opportunity and cut what anyone else can do — that's where real progress starts. Mark reframes selling with a simple but powerful mindset: always be the buyer. Make prospects prove the fit. Make it a privilege to work with your agency. Saying no isn't weakness — it builds respect. And value? It's not a transaction. The more you give, the more reciprocity flows back. Those lessons set the perfect stage for Part 2 — where we dig into how to raise the floor inside your agency and commit to “impossible” goals that drive real scale. Mark shares examples, frameworks, and behind-the-scenes details you don't want to miss. We keep the momentum going so you can make yourself an easy yes for right-fit clients who value your expertise — and want what you do best. What you will learn in this episode: Why setting an “impossible goal” — and compressing your timeline — forces clarity How to use time as a tool instead of an obstacle How Mark decided what to cut and ditched commodity services The powerful “Always Be the Buyer” mindset What it means to “raise the floor” inside your agency How Mark's team confidently says “no” to wrong-fit business, and still earns respect and long-term pipeline abundance Strategies for building an agency that other agencies want to work with Resources: Website: https://jandhlabs.com/ LinkedIn Personal: https://www.linkedin.com/in/markyoungwci/ LinkedIn Business: https://www.linkedin.com/company/jekyll-and-hyde-labs/ HYPNO-TISING: The Secrets and Science of Ads That Sell More…: https://www.amazon.com/HYPNO-TISING-Secrets-Science-That-Sell/dp/1544526091

It's hard to describe to you how our first grandchild lit up our lives. He had a smile that was really a people-stopper. Yeah, I know I sound like a grandfather. Now, it's a good thing this is radio or you'd have to look at my pictures as well! One day when he was about eight months old, I came home from the office to a pleasant surprise. My wife and I were babysitting our grandson. There he was, sitting on his Grandma's lap, leaning against her. I knelt down in front of the chair and told him what I tell him often. "I love you." He just looked at me, without changing his expression. I repeated it again - no response. Then two more times. "I love you." Suddenly he smiled, his arms started reaching, and his whole body leaned forward for me to hold him. And I did. I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and I want to have A Word With You today about "Saying 'Yes' to Love." I kept telling my grandson I loved him. No response. And then finally, he reached for me. That scene has been repeated over and over again - millions of times - when God comes close to someone and says, "I love you." And we just don't respond. For you, this might be the day when you finally reach for the One who has loved you so long. Our word for today from the Word of God, from 1 John 4:19, describes in just eight words how people like you and me finally come to experience the awesome love of God. It says, "We love Him because He first loved us." Well, there's the picture: The God who made you trying to tell you how much He loves you over and over. Actually, showing you how much He loves you. Earlier in this same chapter in the Bible, God says, "This is how God showed His love among us...He sent His Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:9-10). God gave us our lives. And the One who rules billions of galaxies is the One who was supposed to call the shots in our lives. But according to what God says, "Each of us (and these are the Bible's words) has turned to his own way" (Isaiah 53:6). We've made ourselves God, and we've built a wall between us and the divine love that we were made for. That's why our deep loneliness has never gone away. It's cosmic loneliness. You're lonely for God. And God's love for you is so great that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay for your rebellion and mine. You did the sinning. Jesus did the dying, and it's that kind of love that God has been trying to give you for years. But like my little grandson, maybe you've stayed where you are while your Heavenly Father has been saying, "I love you. I love you." It's been a long, lonely, turbulent road without that love. And now you are risking an eternity without that love by putting off or ignoring God's forgiveness for your sins. Maybe you've thought God was mad at you, that He's an angry God you could never know or be close to. But if you want to know how God feels about you, look at the cross of Jesus. That was for you! Haven't you lived long enough without this unloseable, unconditional love that you were made for? This isn't about being religious or some spiritual experience. It's about finally responding to the love of the man who gave His life for you! One more time, God is leaning in close, calling you by name, and He's whispering, "I love you." But this time is your time to take that love! You want to do that? You tell Him that right now, "Jesus, you loved me enough to die for me. I will take this life of mine that I've run too long already and I put it into Your hands. I'm pinning all my hopes on You and what you did on the cross for me." Our website is there for you at a moment like this. It's ANewStory.com. Go there as soon as you can today. It's been a one-way love long enough. Reach out your arms for Jesus. His arms have been open for a long, long time, and He will take you in His arms and He will never let you go.
This Sunday we will continue our journey through 1 Peter and look at what it means to suffer for doing what is right. Peter tells us that when we experience rejection, criticism, or even ridicule because of our faith, it is not a sign of weakness but rather evidence that we've made a clean break with sin. Christ Himself suffered in the body to accomplish God's will, and we are called to arm ourselves with that same attitude. Suffering in the Christian life is not wasted; it shows our loyalty to Christ and our willingness to live for God's will rather than for human approval. We'll see how Peter points back to our old way of life and reminds us that enough time has been wasted there. When we say “no” to the patterns of the world and instead say “yes” to God, people will notice. Some may misunderstand us, label us, or even mock us, but Peter lifts our eyes to the greater reality: God is the ultimate judge, not people. Their disapproval may sting in the moment, but His approval is eternal. Death itself cannot cancel the hope we have in the gospel, for even those who have gone before us in Christ are alive with Him forever. This passage is both sobering and deeply encouraging. It reminds us that following Jesus will cost us something in this world, but it also assures us that our suffering has purpose and our hope is secure. As we gather this Sunday, we'll be encouraged to live boldly, even when it's costly, knowing that we are anchored in Christ. I hope you'll join us, and I pray this message strengthens your resolve to live for the will of God with courage, joy, and hope!
