Stefanie Fuchs has been teaching history for 21 years. While many teachers create rote lesson plans year to year, Fuchs tailors her out-of-the-box lessons to her students.

Arved Fuchs meldet sich von Bord der Dagmar Aaen aus dem Naturhafen Hebron an der Küste Labradors. Nach der Überquerung der Davisstraße von Grönland aus führte der Kurs in den Torngat Mountains National Park im Norden Labradors. Die bis zu 3,9 Milliarden Jahre alten Fels- und Gebirgsformationen sind für die Inuit ein spiritueller Ort. Wegen der hohen Dichte an Schwarz- und Eisbären sind Landgänge nur mit bewaffneten Bärenwächtern erlaubt, erzählt Arved Fuchs; die Crew war dabei stets in Begleitung der Nationalparkverwaltung unterwegs, unter anderem auf Rose Island, einer jahrtausendealten Begräbnisstätte der Inuit.Ausführlich schildert er Begegnungen mit Inuit im Saglek-Fjord, das traditionelle Lufttrocknen von Arctic Char sowie die wissenschaftlichen CTD-Messungen, die die Crew ebenfalls im Saglek-Fjord durchführen durfte.Hebron ist eine ehemalige Missionsstation der Herrnhuter Brüdergemeinde mit einer historischen, derzeit im Wiederaufbau befindlichen Kirche. Von dort aus verbindet sich die Geschichte des Ortes mit einem dunklen Kapitel Hamburger Stadtgeschichte: 1880 wurden acht Inuit aus Hebron im Auftrag von Carl Hagenbeck nach Europa gebracht und in mehreren Städten – unter anderem Hamburg und Paris – als "Völkerschau" zur Schau gestellt. Jahrgang 1938, Köchin, Gastgeberin, Caterin & Youtube-Ikone Nicht, dass wir Ihnen oder irgendjemandem wünschen würden, in einem Fahrstuhl stecken zu bleiben. Aber falls das jemals geschehen sollte, dann wäre es schön, wenn unser heutiger Gast neben Ihnen stünde. Möglicherweise kämen Sie dann sogar an den Punkt, gar nicht befreit werden zu wollen, denn die Geschichten, Lebensstationen und Erlebnisse dieser Frau würden und werden Sie begeistern und beeindrucken. Monika Fuchs wurde im März 1938 geboren, anderthalb Jahre, bevor der deutsche Überfall auf Polen den Zweiten Weltkrieg auslöste. Schon als Kind und Jugendliche bekam sie viel Gegenwind, gerade auch von ihren Eltern. Eine harte Zeit war das, Umstände, die sich neu ordnen mussten. Und vielleicht – aber das ist nur eine Mutmaßung – führten diese permanenten Unwägbarkeiten im Leben dieser jungen, empfindsamen Frau dazu, dass sie eine immense Kraft und einen mindestens genau so großen Optimismus entwickelte. Ihr Leben verbrachte sie an der Seite ihrer Familie in verschiedenen Ländern, lernte, las, probierte, improvisierte und stellte sich wirklich jeder Herausforderung. Sie arbeitete als Gastronomin, Romanautorin, Redakteurin, brachte fünf Kinder zur Welt, stürzte sich mit Anfang 50 in das Abenteuer Catering und arbeitete wie eine Wahnsinnige. Heute, mit 85, dreht Monika Fuchs höchst erfolgreich YouTube-Videos, bzw. einer ihrer Söhne dreht sie. Es war gar nicht so einfach, einen Timeslot zu finden, aber irgendwie hat’s doch geklappt, sie von Hamburg zu uns nach Berlin einzuladen.
