Was steckt hinter dem kryptischen Text?

„Crawling“ oder „Somewhere I Belong“.

Mark Morton Talks Chester Bennington, Solo Album Without The Pain & Lamb Of God's Future On The Loaded Radio Podcast TL;DR: Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton joins the Loaded Radio Podcast to talk about his soulful new solo album Without The Pain, collaborating with late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, the creative process in Lamb Of God, and his honest thoughts on both current and former bandmates. Mark Morton Unleashes His Blues-Driven Side With Without The Pain Mark Morton isn't just the riff-slinging guitar beast from Lamb Of God. On this week's episode of the Loaded Radio Podcast, the guitarist pulls back the curtain on his newest solo release Without The Pain, a record steeped in blues, southern rock, and emotional depth. Released via Rise Records, Without The Pain features a diverse lineup of guests, including Cody Jinks, Neil Fallon (Clutch), Grace Bowers, Jason Isbell, Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), and Jaren Johnston (The Cadillac Three). It's a sharp turn from the punishing rhythms of Lamb Of God, yet unmistakably Mark Morton. During the podcast, Morton explains how the album was years in the making, allowing him to fully explore the stylistic roots that shaped his musical identity long before he ever set foot on a metal stage.  Collaborating With Chester Bennington: The Story Behind “Cross Off” One of the most emotionally resonant points of the podcast is Morton's reflection on working with late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington. The two teamed up on “Cross Off,” a standout track from Morton's 2019 debut solo album Anesthetic. Morton opens up about the power of that collaboration — how Bennington brought a raw intensity to the track, and how the session still resonates with him today. Lamb Of God, Sobriety, And Looking Forward Of course, no conversation with Mark Morton is complete without diving into Lamb Of God. In this episode, he shares honest reflections on the band's internal dynamics — both past and present. Morton touches on his long journey with sobriety, how it's impacted his creative process, and how the band's chemistry continues to evolve after more than two decades of making heavy music together. Morton also hints at what's ahead for Lamb Of God, suggesting that while his solo work is a vital creative outlet, there's plenty of fuel left in the fire when it comes to the band's future output. Listen To The Full Interview Want to hear Mark Morton discuss songwriting secrets, guest collaborations, Lamb Of God's legacy, and his love of southern blues? Hit play on the podcast episode below and get the full story straight from the man himself. FAQ Q: What is Without The Pain by Mark Morton? A: It's Mark Morton's second solo album, exploring blues and southern rock influences with a range of guest musicians. Q: Who features on Without The Pain? A: The album includes appearances by Cody Jinks, Neil Fallon, Grace Bowers, Jason Isbell, Jaren Johnston, and more. Q: Did Mark Morton work with Chester Bennington? A: Yes, on the track “Cross Off” from his first solo album Anesthetic in 2019. Q: Is Mark Morton still in Lamb Of God? A: Absolutely. Morton continues to be a key creative force in Lamb Of God while exploring other musical avenues through solo work. Q: What did he say about Chris Adler? A: Morton remains reluctant to discuss the former Lamb Of God drummer and the reasons behind his departure. Mark Morton Bio Mark Morton is the longtime lead guitarist for the Grammy-nominated groove metal band Lamb Of God. Known for his tight, aggressive riffing and technical solos, Morton has been a core part of the band since its early days as Burn the Priest. Outside of Lamb Of God, Mark has carved out a distinct solo identity that explores blues, southern rock, and deeply personal themes. His 2019 debut solo album Anesthetic featured collaborations with artists like Chester Bennington and Jacoby Shaddix, while his 2025 release Without The Pain leans further into heartfelt, roots-driven territory. Morton is also open about his sobriety and personal growth, often using music as a vehicle for emotional expression. He remains one of heavy metal's most versatile and thoughtful guitarists.

On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Arc of Set The Sun! Comprised of friends Arc and Eris, Set The Sun is a modern metal outfit whose sound blends elements of electronic, metalcore, progressive rock, numetal, and industrial for a cinematic and emotive listening experience. The duo collaborates with other talented musicians they reference as "The Collective," which includes the likes of Ryan Clark (Demon Hunter), Clint Lowery (Sevendust), DJ Lethal (Limp Bizkit), Michael Lessard (The Contortionist), and producer Forrester Savell, among others. In July 2022, Set The Sun dropped their debut EP entitled In Absentia, Vol. 1. That initial release resonated with heavy music fans, and included songs like "The Way Back" (featuring DJ Lethal & TELLE) and "Invisible" (featuring Ryan Clark). In November 2023, Set The Sun released their debut LP entitled At War. Featuring everything from the emotional tribute track to Chester Bennington in "A Better Way To Bleed," to the thunderous chorus in "The Truth" with Clint Lowery, and the introspective "The Impossible," the debut record was a hit with modern rock fans. Numerous songs from the record went on to rack up hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify alone. By the end of 2023, Set The Sun's catalog topped 1 million streams. That momentum has continued into 2025 for Set The Sun. After dropping a handful of remixed and reimagined songs in 2024, Set The Sun again teamed up with Ryan Clark of Demon Hunter for a joint release with their latest single "Falling Apart." Released on February 7th, "Falling Apart" has already amassed north of 261,000 streams on Spotify alone, while the accompanying music video has over 113,000 views on YouTube. In this episode, Arc talks with Mike about the early success of "Falling Apart," what it's been like to team up with dream collaborators like the aforementioned Ryan Clark and Clint Lowery, among others, his love for Hans Zimmer and film scores, incorporating that epic and cinematic experience into Set The Sun's music, new music in the works, chasing your dreams, and more. Cop Cam of Tyreek Hill is changing minds, never forget 9/11, Dave Grohl's affair baby, Trump v. Harris debate recap, The Sopranos “Wise Guy” doc on Max, Shannon Sharpe's “hacked” sex tape, RIP James Earl Jones, and Deshaun Watson's sex assault allegation #27. What are infamous Oprah guests Rochelle and John doing these days? NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe claims his Instagram was hacked as a sex tape was posted on his page. Is it real or did he fake it to troll Antonio Brown? The debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump went down last night. The biggest takeaway is “they are eating our pets”. It turns out a crazy person in Ohio did eat a cat. Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark have endorsed Kamala. Virginia would like to tone down the Thomas Jefferson slavery talk. It's 9/11 and we haven't forgotten. Tiffany Henyard remains the worst mayor possibly ever, but she knows how to throw a dud of a party. Jesse Plemons thinks he's hot. Get over yourself, Plemons. RIP James Earl Jones. Let's all pause to recognize his greatest work. Music: Dave Grohl cheats on his wife and father's a bastard daughter. His daughters have deleted their social media. The Swifties are piling on because he made a mean comment about Tay-Tay. Chester Bennington's son is angry at his father's former band. He's now getting death threats during suicide prevention month. Donald Glover stops touring to take a mental break and “focus on his physical health”. Kendrick Lamar better call Drake a pedophile at the next Super Bowl Halftime Show. Some people are really angry that it isn't Lil Wayne because the game is in New Orleans. Jay-Z allegedly nailed Foxy Brown when she was 15-years-old. Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson is being sued again for sexual assault. Now that he isn't good at football anymore people are taking this accusation seriously. Dawn Richard of Danity Kane is suing Diddy. Diddy, meanwhile, lost a $100M judgement to a Michigan inmate because he never responded to his lawsuit. Jayden James Federline is 18 and the gravy train is over for Papa-zao Kevin Federline. We watch the cop cam of Tyreek Hill getting detained in Miami. Now that the video is out, Tyreek realizes he should have done things differently. Billy McFarland is still trying to make Fyre Festival II happen. Drew highly recommends the new Sopranos doc on Max titled Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos. We'll be talking to Jeff Tremaine next week about Nöthin' But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of '80s Hair Metal. New Podcast alerts: Talk Tuah kicked off with Hailey Welch interviewing Whitney Cummings. A Touch More with Sue Bird & Megan Rapinoe is out now and awful. David Bowie has a #1 country music hit now… kind of. We remember Oliver Anthony's greatest (only) hit. Farts are funny. Matt Damon knows… bros before hoes. Connor Stalions sucks at coaching football. He was 93.Born Todd Jones on January 17th, 1931 in rural Mississippi, Jones was raised in Michigan by his maternal grandparents. He was of African, Irish and Native American descent. As a child, he developed a severe stutter and avoided speaking whenever possible. A high school teacher helped him overcome his impairment by forcing him to recite poetry. After graduating, Jones spent four years at the University of Michigan but left school before earning his degree. He then spent a few years in the Army stationed in Colorado.Jones began his acting career in a theater in Manistee, Michigan, first playing Othello there in 1955. His film debut came with 1964's Dr. Strangelove. He was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for playing Jack Jefferson in 1970's The Great White Hope, losing to George C. People aren't having a difficult time wrapping their head around the prospect of Linkin Park reinventing itself. They are having a hard time wrapping their head around how you 1) Hired your friend of many years [Armstrong] to replace [Chester] knowing Emily's history in the church and her history as an ally to [Masterson]." Wednesday's MTV Video Music Awards will open with Eminem. He has eight nominations this year, including Video of the Year. Here's what you need to know.  MOVING ON INTO MOVIE NEWS: RIP: Legendary actor James Earl Jones -- perhaps best known as the voice of Darth Vader and "This is CNN" -- has died. He was 93. Born Todd Jones on January 17th, 1931 in rural Mississippi, Jones was raised in Michigan by his maternal grandparents. He then spent a few years in the Army stationed in Colorado. Jones began his acting career in a theater in Manistee, Michigan, first playing Othello there in 1955. His film debut came with 1964's Dr. Strangelove. He was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for playing Jack Jefferson in 1970's The Great White Hope, losing to George C. Scott for Patton. Jones became a superstar in a film in which he never appeared -- voicing Darth Vader in 1977's Star Wars. He asked that he go uncredited in that film and its sequel, 1980's The Empire Strikes Back, reasoning that he was simply part of the special effects. He relented for 1983's Return of the Jedi.
