National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on The Ed Tyll Show on Florida Man Radio, WDYZ 660AM / 105.5FM, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, on February 28, 2020. Over the previous decade, Mark Henkel had been a guest a number of different times on the host's past syndicated programs - each of which had always been positive interviews. For this interview, Mark Henkel was originally asked as a guest to discuss a new state law being passed in the Utah Legislature to reduce the charge of bigamy from a felony crime down to an infraction in cases of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, in which no other crimes occur. (NOTE: months after this interview, that law became fully passed and effective on May 12, 2020.) The Florida Man Radio station obviously targets a male demographic in the greater Orlando, Florida market. Along those lines, the host took the discussion toward a more physical direction of marital relations, although being neither vulgar nor salacious. In the middle of the interview, the host seemed to take the issue into a harsh and hostile direction as Mark Henkel continued to hold his own and to just keep the information focused. After the final break, Mark Henkel smilingly changed the tone of the conversation by offering some fun humor, bringing up the "Not tonight, honey, I have a headache" statement that husbands sometimes hear from wives. The host loved it and declared that Mark Henkel had "kicked the soccer ball" as the host's way of meaning that he had “nailed it” with such powerful insights. The interview proceeded quite positively from that moment forward. The host again declared how much he loved having Mark Henkel as a guest. At the end, the host even proclaimed, "God, I am having a great day today!" This interview provides an example of how Mark Henkel's professional, thoughtful, and intentional use of humor-on-purpose (in order to change the tone) to refresh the discussion was able to successfully bring the interview back to a positive (indeed, an extremely positive) ending. The host deserves credit and acknowledgement, too, for recognizing that and for joining with Mark Henkel in returning and restoring the discussion to the extremely positive conclusion. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was on The Ed Tyll Show, syndicated on the Starcom Radio Network, on December 30, 2013. Earlier that year, the US Supreme Court made its decisions in the same sex marriage cases cases of Hollingsworth v. Perry and United States v. Windsor on June 26, 2013 . Earlier from those prior two weeks, 2 landmark decisions (affecting only the State of Utah) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah had been decided: Brown v. Buhman (12/13/13, decided by Judge Clark Waddoups, de-criminalizing "de facto polygamy" in Utah) and Kitchen v. Herbert (12/20/13, decided by Judge Robert Shelby, legalizing same sex marriage in Utah). To discuss the impact of these court decisions upon UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, the host asked legitimate and positive questions. Having been interviewed on this show previously, Mark Henkel's answers provided an even more comprehensive education on the issues of polygamy, marriage control, and freedom. Having learned even that much more in this interview, the host ended up saying to Mark Henkel, "You're really good at this. One thing polygamy needs is credibility from its spokepeople." http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support
National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was on The Ed Tyll Show, syndicated on the Starcom Radio Network, for the weekend edition on Saturday, June 15, 2013. This was the second of two interviews on this show that week, as the US Supreme Court was preparing up to hand down its decision about same sex marriage in both cases of Hollingsworth v. Perry and United States v. Windsor. For this weekend audience, Mark Henkel once again explained that, if the Supreme Court accepts and sets the precedent that laws may not be based on "animous based stereotypes" as were then-being argued in the Hollingsworth case, it would equally apply to anti-polygamy laws which are even more "animous based" than laws against same sex marriage. (HISTORY NOTE: Later, on June 26, 2013, the US Supreme Court instead refused the Hollingsworth case, vacating the lower decision, solely based on a technicality of "legal standing" and not on the merits of anything argued.) Closing out the interview, the host declared to his audience about Mark Henkel, saying, "He's a brave guy. He's got energy. He's got the conviction of his beliefs. And that is contagious. We love it on this show!" http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on The Ed Tyll Show on the Big 810 AM WEUS, in Orlando, Florida, on August 5, 2011, to discuss normal, healthy, "legitimate polygamy," its difference from from Warren Jeffs and the FLDS, the historic subterfuge by which anti-polygamy laws were unconstitutionally brought to pass, and why such laws must now be repealed. Considering this interview's brevity, it was so in-depth & informative that the host even proclaimed, "WOW!" http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support
