Teri Granahan, technically, it started as middle child syndrome and a few basement plays which eventually got compounded with the high school crowning of "Most Funny" and "Class Cut Up" that set the wheels in motion. Truthfully, it was a survival skill because "everybody likes the funny kid." The Big Apple I started my comedy career in early 2000 while living in NYC. Right out of the gate I had some good signs- I won New York Comedy Club's Best New Talent in 2003. And went on to perform at Stand Up NY, Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Comedy Cellar trying to get into the scene. Fortunate enough to have shared the stages with some of today's greats like Jim Gaffigan, Lisa Lampinelli, the late, Patrice O'Neil...and so many others! Then I ran into comedian Dave Russo who gave me my first real professional gigs. The irony is that we both graduated together from Wilkes University and had communication classes together. Years later ran into each other performing at Stand Up NY! He took me under his wing where I opened for him at a few colleges like University of New Haven, Wilkes University a few times and gave me some shows in the Boston area with the famous Lenny Clarke! My Home Coming Fast forward a gazillion years my journey through comedy got me on MTV (Apartment 2F with the Sklar Brother's); a close but no cigar audition for AXS LIVE Gotham (great story!). And was making my climb through the circuit. Back in the Poconos: I won Best of Reader polls in 2011 from Electric City and Diamond City polls. Became the house mc at Wisecrackers for a few years when they moved into the Casino, where I also had a weekly spot on 105 the River. Culminating into the final brass ring of making it to the semi finals- TOP 10 females in the industry- in the Ladies of Laughter Competition NYC in 2016. Punchline Philly's Really Funny Comedians (Who Happen to Be Females) Comedy Works Bristol Funniest Females After sharpening my skills running tons of open mics over the years. I moved on to produce comedy shows of a wide variety from fundraisers for several hundreds to small little pubs for almost 10 years. I've performed in clubs, colleges and theaters up and down the east coast, including Gotham NY, Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, Improv (when it was running in NYC), Broadway Comedy Club, Comedy Cellar, Helium, Punchline Philly, Comedy Cabaret, Sarcasm, Wisecrackers rooms, Wilkes University, Marywood University, New Haven University, Lackawanna College, Penn State University; Ritz Theater, Clemens Center, Waverly Store Front Theater and some theater in Delaware. Also going on record with The Flaming Crab and Quaker Steak & Lube...because you ain't sh*t til you can play those rooms! #terigranahan #standupcomedian #comedy #livewithcdp #talkshow #chrispomay #barrycullenchevrolet #wellingtonbrewery #youtube #applepodcasts https://terigranahan.com/ https://beacons.ai/chrisdpomay https://www.cameo.com/chrispomay https://www.youtube.com/@chrispomaylivewithcdpsport5517/streams

In honor of the New York City Marathon, it's  a marathon  all new That Real Blind Tech show episode. Since Ed was out of town yet again, filling in is David Goldstein, along with Allison, Brian, and Jeanine.   We kick the show off acknowledging a very special one year anniversary. Then we dive in to recapping this year's amazing Laugh For Sight which was held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City.   It is then on to the story everyone will be talking about as scientists have discovered that animals are getting just as sloshed as humans.   Next we discuss the disturbing trend of people applying for ghost jobs.   A Russian court has hit Google with a whopper of a fine.   We then get to A.I. Corner and start off discussing Open A.I.'s search engine which is now live for paid subscribers. Claude now has a desktop app. Google Maps is getting an A.I. infusion and you will be able to ask it questions about restaurants and get A.I. created results. We then talk about the massive update that just came to seeing A.I. and now being able to get short video descriptions. We dream about what these descriptions for video could eventually be, and David tells us about his awesome Seeing A.I. shortcuts that Brian has stolen and made his own.   We then move on to discussing our experiences with iOS 18.1 and 18.2. Here are 10 new non-A.I. things you will be able to do in iOS 18.2. We discuss the new category feature coming to mail in iOS 18.2. Next we discuss Apple Visual Intelligence and ChatGPT with Siri.   Apple announced all new M4 Mac mini, iMac, and Mac Book Pros. The Mac mini chose an odd place for the power button which has the internet cracking up.   And then it is the show interruption to end all show interruptions. You will have to hear it to believe it.   And yeah, we went a little long on this show, but we finally get to Allison and Jeanine's  experience testing out the glide device.   We get really sidetracked again, but it's worth the listen, and we fairly get to David's experience at the Governor's Mansion.   And it's more of Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading    To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow , or leave us an old school phone message at 929-367-1005. .        In honor of the New York City Marathon, it's  a marathon  all new That Real Blind Tech show episode. Doug Stanhope: No Refunds Not all stand-up comedy is spot-cleaned and pre-packaged for the masses. Like the legends who were born out of smokey, booze-soaked nightclubs of decades past, Doug Stanhope spews his own brand of moral outrage in an unmatched style that borders on self-destruction. Nothing is sacred, no subject off-limits and most importantly nothing is contrived. From critically acclaimed appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to regular appearances on The Howard Stern Show, Stanhope always shows an intelligence and brutal honesty in his comedy, no matter how viciously graphic or unsettling the material may be. Taped live at the Gotham Comedy Club, this appearance is an unflinching look at one of the few voices left standing in the dark, punk-rock underbelly of stand-up comedy. We then discuss the breaking news right before we recorded of Jon Bon Jovi talking a jumper off of a bridge.   Next we discuss the story of Gen-Z pissing everyone off with their new fad of filming their airport tray's.       Brian then tells us all about this year's 17th annual Laugh For Sight NYC at Gotham Comedy Club on Monday, October 28, 2024. For tickets go here. And one of our Hosts will soon have their own swag, hmm, who could it be?   If you are interested in attending the Lighthouse guild Mac versus PC Accessibility Smackdown on September 17, 2024 at 3pm Eastern Time on Zoom, you can register for it here.   Not everyone was tuned in to the Apple event as Pornhub's tracking metrics didn't drop everywhere during the event.   We then finally get around to discussing the apple Event It's Glow time. We start off discussing if screen real estate makes a difference for gesture and braille with a lower case b input users. It was only quickly mentioned but could apple Visual Intelligence LookUp only available on the iPhone 16 Pro and up cause a lot of blind people to get new phones? We then discuss the new camera button coming to some of the phones. During the event apple kept pimping out the bigger battery life, so how much bigger is it? Here are the biggest differences between the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.   Apple announced a new Mag Safe charger, don't buy it. Apple finally killed the lightning  cable for all new products.   Apple announced the air Pod 4's, making the Air Pod product line very confusing. The Air Pod Pro 2's will be able to replace hearing aids for people with low to moderate hearing loss. Will Air Pods doubling as hearing aids challenge new social norms?   We got the Apple Watch Series 10, and one of us already ordered one. Sleep Apnea detection comes to the new watches.   We got a drop date for iOS 18 on Monday, September 16th, and fortunately Allison and Jeanine have been running the betas. Additionally, Mac OS Sequoia will also be dropping on Monday, but none of us have been beta testing it. The New York Times called her a skilled comedian and storyteller with “bleakly stylish” humor. She was also selected as one of New York Magazine's “Top 10 Comics that Funny People Find Funny,” and hailed by Forbes.com as one of the most engaging comics working today. Ophira is a regular host and teller with The Moth and her stories have been featured on The Moth Radio Hour and in two of The Moth's best-selling collections, including the most recent New York Times Bestseller: How To Tell A Story: The Essential Guide to Memorable Storytelling from The Moth. Ophira's first book, Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy (Seal Press), is a comedic memoir about her experiments in the field as a single woman, traveling from futon to futon and flask-to-flask, gathering data, hoping to put it all together and build her own perfect Frankenmate. It was optioned for a feature film. She is also sought after as a brilliant interviewer and moderator, and has interviewed dozens of celebrities, writers, and actors including Neil Gaiman at New York's Town Hall; Jane Curtain, Anne Beatts, Heather Gardner, Sudi Green, Alysia Reiner, Jeanne Tripplehorn, David Crane, Jeffrey Klerik at The Nantucket Film Festival; Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy at the 92nd Street Y; and Nell Scovell and Sloane Crosley at The Mark Twain House. Interfaith Comedy in 2024, sounds like a slippery slope that could end in the flames of societal outrage right? The pendulum of what is deemed appropriate in comedy has swung from the outright cruel to the paralyzed in fear of offending. However, the founder of Interfaith Comedy reveals it is actually a unique approach to anti-bias work. Their mission-driven, feel-good, clean comedy show reduces prejudice through laughter. Starring comedians from different faiths, their nationally touring show is perfect for places of worship, community organizations, faith-based conferences, comedy clubs and universities.Their comedians have been seen at venues that include: The White House, Gotham Comedy Club, Caroline's on Broadway, Stand Up NY, the DC Improv, The Moth and the Kennedy Center. Not all stand-up comedy is spot-cleaned and pre-packaged for the masses. It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show. The entire gang is almost here, we're missing Ed, but we got David Goldstein pinch hitting for Ed  as we recap the Apple Scary Fast event. But not to worry our show includes a lot more than the Apple event included.   We kick the show off discussing traitorous behavior, and how silly other blind podcasts can be. Yes, we are quite the critics.   We then play a clip of Brian on the news discussing this year's Laugh For Sight Comedy Benefit which was at Gotham Comedy Club on Monday, October 30th, yes, the same time as the Apple Scary Fast event. We bet we were much more entertaining, as David and Brian discuss this year's benefit.   We then discuss a very interesting spam email Brian got.   We then discuss the Beatles new song which made use of A.I. in its development. Is this a good thing?   YouTube is cracking down on ad blockers causing a mass exodus from them.   Introducing the world's first ChatGPT indoor camera. Could this be something for the blind and useful if it is accessible? On a related note world powers got together as they claim they want to contain A.I. And it took President Biden watching the latest Mission Impossible movie to get concerned about the future of A.I.   We then finally tackle the latest Apple event Scary Fast. Apple announced new M3 Mac Book Pros and a new 24 inch iMac. Instead of discussing the newly announced Macs, we discuss which Macs we are currently running, and our current opinions and issues with the state of VoiceOver on the Mac. And we're all trying to figure out why Mac accessories are still lightning charging.   And finally, finally Brian remembered to include some of the VoiceMails and Emails we have gotten in to the show. Thanks to everyone who called and wrote in.   And it's more of Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading.   To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow , or leave us an old school phone message at 929-367-1005, and make sure to visit our website where you can listen to any of our past episodes.

“Jokes are subjective anyway, but laughs are as objective as you can get — as long as the joke is funny and the audience is laughing. That's where the line is, if people laugh or not.” Jocelyn Chia is a New York-based lawyer-turned-comedian, who's a regular at the Comedy Cellar and Gotham Comedy Club, and has been featured in Vulture, Vice, CNN, BBC, The New York Times, Sirius XM, MTV, Fox News, TMZ, Vice TV, and Comedy Central. Now if the name Jocelyn Chia sounds familiar - or even if it doesn't, you've heard of her. That's because she really is infamous...at least in Malaysia. You see, back In June 2023, Jocelyn made the front page of The New York Times. The Singaporean comedian got into hot water when she told a series in NYC  that went viral with Malaysians, but not in a good way. And we're not talking about just a few Malaysians. We're talking about pretty much the entire country. So FrieMMd of the Pod and THE Funny Indian Rajiv Satyal reached out to have her on HIS TanGent podcast - because he admired her willingness to stand her ground and not apologize for a joke. You'll hear Jocelyn's deep-dive into what happened, how she dealt with it, how the levels of trust about the media among Asian and American comedians differ, and how Jocelyn's mental health preparation enabled her to not only weather the storm but also to capitalize on the moment. This is a great conversation between two comics not just talking about their craft, but on the very merits of free speech in our increasing global - and social - society.  LEARN MORE THE STORY: nytimes.com/2023/06/09/arts/television/jocelyn-chia-malaysia-joke.html THE COMIC: jocelynchia.com //  instagram.com/chiacomedy RAJIV: rajivsatyal.com // instagram.com/funnyindian Learn more about your ad choices.
