This week's Say Yes to Holiness podcast 1:1 Conversation is with Dr. Joshua Miller, co-author with Luke Burgis of Unrepeatable: Cultivating the Unique Calling of Every Person (2018), contributing author to The Motivation Code (2020), and the Executive Director of the Inscape Center for Personal Vocation. Joshua and I had a truly enjoyable discussion about his own journey and how that has been instrumental for his passion for creating a culture of personal vocation and a driving force behind the latest initiative of the Inscape Center--the Missions Program. Joshua a leader in the field of narrative based motivational assessment, and for the last 18 years he has applied his expertise in a variety of applications, including executive search, organizational development, and talent management. His long standing desire to understand and help people develop their unique giftedness led to an MA & Ph.D. in Philosophy of the Human Person. He continues to effectively integrate learning from this study into his coaching and consulting practices. Joshua also helped build The Center for Leadership at Franciscan University of Steubenville where he currently serves as a vocation coach and vocation coach trainer for faculty and staff of the institution, and then he was a Co-Founder of Inscape Vocation with Luke Burgis which is responsible for the Missions Program. The Missions Program is designed specifically for young adults ages 18 –23 who want to do hands-on missionary service in a community context while growing in self-awareness and exploration of their unique, personal vocation. Joshua and I spoke about the specifics of the Missions program, and how it will serve to fill a gap being experienced by many young adults in our world today, but it was in the context of how it is that knowing the fullness of the truth regarding the Church's teaching about personal vocation is absolutely crucial for our own experiencing the life of freedom, peace and abundance that our God desires for us. I have discovered over the years that my conversations with Joshua are always illuminating, inspiring and serve to challenge me to do more to help others embrace the lives God created them for, and I can attest that this one was no different. I hope that you, too, are inspired to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to live out the fullness of your personal vocation each and every day and help those around you to do the same.
