Show Description: Every heart-warming story often involves tragedy. This story is no exception. Nonetheless, God works through tragedy to draw us closer to Himself. We desire to present stories that are inspiring, transformational, and redemptive. Jake Norris' story is such a story.  Beginning with his early life in which Jake's father was either absent or simply had a negative, even destructive influence on his son's life, we find Jake being taken care of by his sister Kim. Unfortunately, Kim was killed in a horrible car accident in which Jake should have died but didn't. Jake's sister's death sent his life into a tailspin, but God had other ideas in mind. Come listen to how Jake's football friends (his offensive line) stood up and loved him back to God his Father.  Later, Jake himself was in another horrendous automobile accident. He was traveling 80 mph on Dead Man's Curve which had a required speed limit of 25 mph. He hit a tree head on demolishing his car, yet he walked away completely unscathed. Why? Did God have His Hand on Jake's life? Come listen to what happened next.  Another phase in Jake's personal life brought him again to a place of emotional collapse. Again, God sent men into Jake's life to help him. They took a trip up into the mountains. In a mountain cabin, Jake woke up very early before sunrise and took a walk and got lost. On that walk he encountered God. Not many of us have mountain top experiences with God, but Jake did. Come listen to how he describes his experience. Welcome to season two where we are in a bit of a transition phase and are working to get more guests on the podcast and have changed our line-up of podcasters. Throughout the season you will hear from Scott, Alan and Jake hosting different guests from around the Maine area. So here we go onto our second season, sit back and enjoy! In this episode we sit with Jake Norris about his upcoming marathon the Bay of Fundy. We talk about his strategy and mindset going into the race and what preparations he has done to set himself up for a good race. In the next episode we sit with Jake and Todd Michaud to recap how their marathons may have went well, what went wrong and we get an idea of how Todd approaches a marathon.

In this final episode of season one we sit down with guest Kyle Simmons and chat about the benefits of marathon training and capitalizing on the foundation that you have built up during your training cycle. We also talk about gearing up for the next season after the marathon. Kyle and Alan also talk about their experiences at Boston this year. Jake also chimes in with some questions as a beginning marathoner in regards to plans and trying to qualify for Boston. With the conclusion of Season one we will be starting season two with a new host line up and more guest speakers. There will be the same amount of beers and banter. In this episode we talk about tapering for races, mostly the marathon being that this was recorded a week before the 2019 Boston Marathon. Alan, Kyle Simmons (our guest who is running his first Boston) and Scott each talk about the different methods that they have used for training and tapering for the marathon event. Jake Norris also sits with us who is also a local runner making his way back into running and will begin training for his second marathon.
