UF introduced Jon Sumrall Monday to conclude a robust six-week search that targeted Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin before landing on Tulane's up-and-coming coach. Florida State has reached the offseason, another crucial one for Mike Norvell after his fourth losing season in six years in Tallahassee. The Seminoles lost, 40-21, to a 4-8 Florida team to conclude the season with a 5-7 record. Florida running back Jadan Baugh ran for 266 yards, the second-most ever by a Gator. RIVALRY WEEKEND IS HERE!!! Last week of the cab regular season. Playoff and conference championship pushes for all teams. Florida State baseball begins the 2026 season in 79 days. Pitching coach Micah Posey joined the podcast for just over 35 minutes to break down the Seminoles' revamped pitching staff. FSU's pitching staff is made up of 20 arms, including 13 newcomers. There are 14 right-handed pitchers and six left-handed pitchers. Of the newcomers, six are from the portal, three are from DII/JUCO, and four are true freshmen. Posey discussed the improvements of returners Wes Mendes, John Abraham, and Payton Manca. He also spoke about the additions of high-level transfers Trey Beard, Bryson Moore, Cole Stokes, Cade O'Leary, & Gabe Nard. The pitching coach also talked about FSU's new 'launch-pad,' which was installed by Driveline, and will implement biomechanics into the pitching lab.

The coaching carousel keeps on spinning, but Florida State is not joining the party in 2025. FSU announced on Sunday that Mike Norvell will remain the head coach of the Seminoles in 2026. This announcement comes at the end of a disappointing season that began with a lot of promise. Promises have been made to enhance the roster next season. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss why Florida State decided to make this move and if they think it was the right decision. Then, they look to Michigan State where a decision looms. Will the Spartans keep Jonathan Smith or will the current eight-game losing streak be the final straw of a disappointing tenure in East Lansing? Florida State improved to 5-5 with a 34-14 win over Virginia Tech (3-7, 2-4 ACC) on Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium. It was the Seminoles' final home game of 2025, ending the season with a 5-2 home record. FSU travels to NC State (5-5, 2-4 ACC) and Florida (3-7, 2-5 SEC) for the final two games, looking for a win to become bowl-eligible. FSU is yet to win a road game this season.
