In a world of many needs, being generous can be hard. Hear from the "generosity monk" who sees the power of generosity and travels the world fostering it. He shares his own powerful story of trusting in something bigger when faced with a huge need after giving everything away. An inspiring conversation.
Would you rather acquire treasure for right now or treasure that lasts forever? That's the question Jesus puts to us in the passage Pastor Joel unpacks in this sermon. It goes to the heart of what many consider the most essential part of their safety: their bank accounts. The world runs on money, and we live the story where money is the author: having no money, then as we grow, gaining more and more and all the ‘stuff' that comes with it: the big house, the fancy car, the lavish vacations, etc. But what if Jesus says being a disciple means living in a different story? Instead, he tells us we should seek out treasures in heaven, so that we might not be mastered by money. In this sermon, Joel talks about what treasures in heaven are and why they are essential, as well as consider what it means for us to respond to Jesus' message with our own money and resources.
Jesus calls us to be faithful and generous with our money.

Welcome To Thursday FUNDAY!!! Dean's been trying to get away from Jordan Peterson/Convoy Conversations, but every time he's out, they pull him back in. Jordan put out a 6 minute FUCK TRUDEAU AND FUCK CANADA video with his pals at Canada Proud yesterday. Aside from being almost incomprehensible, it's clear who's side Jordan is on. The "Jesus and Money" side. https://deanblundell.com/news/video-j... We break down how to identify a bot! Whenever someone publishes an accountable look at far right, theocratic messaging, like Dean's "Jordan Peterson is a Russian Asset" post; the bots come out to play. How to identify Bots? It's easy, and we explain a bulletproof way to prevent the avalanche of alt-right bot takeovers of your content. Blue Jacket guy, Paul Atkinson joins us from the True Eager Beaver Podcast to talk about the "United People Of Canada" (Fake Trucker Convoy Church) in Ottawa. "TUPOC" is a church started by William Komer and a few Convoy losers associated with Tammy Lich (Including her husband Duane) and the people of #Ottawa have an issue with it because it's a fucking cult.
What do we think of when we think of security? If we are being honest, our answers probably all pointed back to money. This only breeds a life of anxiety. Our security and trust should be in God, who will always abundantly provide for his children.
In today's episode, we take a tour through Scripture and talk about how God views money, and how Jesus talks about it. We also take a course on atonement: what it means, and how it is that Jesus saves us. The economy of this world runs on money, but the economy of the kingdom runs on grace. So Jesus gives us a new way to think, act, feel, and relate to others about money. Luke 1213 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” 15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I'll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” '20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”

In this insightful message from Pastor Zach Maddox, we discover how to live a worry-free life. Our prayer is that this message encourages you to live a worry-free life in God's Kingdom by managing your resources as God intends. NOTES: Theme: How do we live a worry-free life? Life Change Goal: Our prayer is that this message encourages you to live a worry-free life in God's Kingdom by managing your resources as God intends. Text: Matthew 6:19-33 (ESV) We can live worry-free lives by storing up treasures in heaven. We can live worry-free lives by allowing God to secure our lives. We can live worry-free lives by following God's money plan. Money, wealth and possessions are used to provide appropriate care for one's own family and prevent them from becoming a burden to others. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (ESV) 2 Thessalonians 3:6-12 (ESV) 1 Timothy 5:8 (ESV) Resources are used to help others in need, especially those within the family of faith. Acts 11:27-30 (ESV) 2 Corinthians 8:1-4 (ESV) Money, wealth, and possessions are used to encourage and support God's work in spreading the gospel of the kingdom at home and around the world. 1 Timothy 5:17-18 (ESV) Philippians 4:14-19 (ESV) Conclusion: Who is securing your life? Yourself or God? How you manage your resources determines who secures your life. In response to this message I will… I will share part of this message with... Discussion Questions: Start Talking. What steps could you take to better follow God's plan for money, wealth and possessions?
The interesting thing about Jesus and money is that he really doesn't say anything other than what Moses had already said. What Jesus does is call his followers to take seriously what Moses said about money and to live according to God's alternative economy. We see this especially in the story of Jesus and the rich young ruler.
