Titus 3Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. 9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. 12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. 13 Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. 14 And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful. 15 All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

Pastor Dru teaches that we must flee from sin in order to find ourselves in a different climate.

Are your thoughts working for you or against you? In this episode, we unpack the Helmet of Salvation from Ephesians 6 and how it protects our minds in the heat of spiritual battle. We talk through how a minimalist mindset can actually help us reset spiritually, and why we need to stop treating the symptoms (fruit) and start digging into the root. You have been crucified with Christ so don't let your old self come back to life! This is Paul's message to the church at Ephesus and to us today! He knows the inner struggle of walking by the Spirit and walking according to the flesh. He knows we have been given a new life in Christ but he also knows there is an enemy trying to destroy us so he warns them, “Don't live like the Gentiles. Live Different.” He explains what he means by talking about the sins they were struggling with and he says, “Throw that old man off and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you!” We have a choice to make: We are either choosing to allow God work or in us or Satan. What choice are you making? If you say Jesus, would others agree? Can we see Jesus in you?

To manage this, I turn to mindfulness practices like hiking and immersing myself in nature. Breathing in fresh air and stepping away from my computer boosts my productivity and helps me feel more grounded. Plus, spending quality time with my family is incredibly important to me. Thoughts On Breathing It's interesting because I recently read about the Wim Hof Method, which involves cold plunging and learning proper breathing techniques. I realized I'm not a natural breather—I'm quite uptight in that aspect. Even when I try to sleep, I often catch myself tensing up. I got checked for sleep apnea, but it turns out I'm just so tense because I'm always thinking about what I need to do next, rather than being mindful of the present. To help myself relax before bed, I have a routine: I go through the alphabet and think of three words for each letter. By the time I reach E, I'm usually fast asleep. It's a simple exercise, but it really helps me wind down. Bullying Story As I reflect on bullying and mindfulness, I've learned that success often attracts negativity, and I've faced attempts to bring me down to a “normal” level. To manage this, I avoid reading negative social media comments, with my team promptly removing harmful posts. Growing up poor in an abusive household with a single mom, I've become reactive and emotional, so I practice mindfulness to pause and breathe before responding. I aim to prevent the cycle of poverty in Indigenous communities by promoting education, self-confidence, and economic sovereignty. We deserve ownership in projects, not just token participation, to truly uplift our people. Part 3 of Pastor Brian's series called Live Different.
According to Sermon on the Mount, there's a way to live that will make life better for you, but it might sound counterintuitive. In the first four beatitudes, Jesus invites you to be poor in spirit, to mourn, to be meek, and to hunger and thirst for righteousness, which may leave you thinking, wait, what? But we can explain. In this episode, Whit and Casey explore meme culture, Old Testament references, and the qualities of a Kingdom seeker. Oni Sen is my baby brother, and I am one of the luckiest people on the planet to see this cool person blossom and evolve in life. Oni is storyteller, who has directed some of the most watched and most acclaimed mini-series in India. Oni graduated from the National Institute of Design (NID) which I think is the toughest institute in the whole planet to get in. Since then he has directed numerous ad films and mini-series. Oni is known for his ability to understand human emotions, and for his skill in finely unfolding narratives, he is also a photographer and illustrator. What wows me every time is his unique style of storytelling and how he stands out to be only him, and not compromise to be one of the pack. Here are some key insights from this week's show: - Keep stories relatable and that will engage the audience. - Silence at times tells more than words. - Know what you want people to feel before you start telling a story. - The ultimate reward for a storyteller is when people connect to the story. - We are a resonance of our actions. - A simple story, told simply, is the toughest story to tell. It might be more comfortable to try to blend in, but when we find the confidence to live differently than what's popular, we find deeper trust in God and more joy in our personal identity. So how do we do it? Part of our Magnify Manifesto this year is to LIVE DIFFERENT. Perhaps instead of trying to stand out or isolate ourselves from others, we follow the Prophet's counsel to live distinct and different in happy ways by following the Savior. "When you kneel down and are pleading for specific help from Heavenly Father, you have to show up your full self, because there is no fooling the Lord." Joining this episode is friend of the pod, Lisa Valentine Clark. Lisa talks about how she finds the courage and confidence to live different and what that means to her in the context of the gospel. Top takeaways from this episode: Just like we learn in 1 Corinthians, we need all parts of the body of Christ. We should celebrate that we all contribute different and wonderful things to the gospel. It can be important to check in and ask ourselves what it means to live differently from the world. We can find the courage and confidence to live the gospel everyday. Being different isn't comparing ourselves and trying to stand out from others, but it's choosing the Savior's way. We can embrace our differences in good ways and look at them as our strengths. Showing up our authentic self, even when we don't want to do the right thing, will give us more power in personal revelation. Small and simple challenge: As we look forward to General Conference this week, look for ways where the Lord is speaking to you in personal and different ways that will be different from others.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Because of what Christ has done on the cross and what he has done by His Spirit in our lives when we believe in Him, we are to take an active approach to dealing with sin in our lives.
