Ok family, I have a treat for all of us that I'm excited to share with you, and I mean ECSTATIC!This week on In Totality, I'm joined by bestselling author, Bible teacher, psychotherapist, a daughter, a wife, and a mother, and so much more, Dr. Sarita T. Lyons! And guess what!? She's here with her new book, Honor Thy Mother, that's just released TODAY as this episode airs! Many of us carry pain from complicated relationships with our mothers but don't feel permission to name it, especially in the Church. Dr. Sarita helps to unpack the heart behind her new book, Honor Thy Mother: How to Grieve, Heal, and Make Peace with Your Mother Wounds, and remind us that sharing the truth about our pain is not the same as dishonor.Tune in for an honest, biblical conversation about healing mother wounds, honoring a parent even when it's difficult to do so, how to set healthy boundaries, and breaking generational cycles. If you're grieving the mother you needed, navigating estrangement, afraid of repeating generational wounds with your own children, or learning how to honor a difficult parent, this episode is for you.My prayer is that this conversation helps you name what hurts, invite God into it, and take a faithful step toward grief, healing, freedom, and peace.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

He calls the church to reject compromise, wake up from spiritual apathy, and step into the authority God gives His people through His Word and Spirit. With practical encouragement for families, church community, and personal discipleship, Samuel challenges listeners to live awake, repentant, and spiritually engaged—holding fast to faith, resisting the enemy, and trusting God to restore strength, purity, and authority where it is needed most.

Hey Fam! In Totality is back this week and I'm here with the team for a conversation about forgiveness, anger, and the call of Romans 12: “Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay.”Forgiveness sounds beautiful until the wound is fresh and the apology never comes. So, today, I open up about my struggle with wanting to defend myself, have the last word, or “get a lick back” when I feel wronged. We unpack what it looks like to trust God as our defender, lay the urge to retaliate on the altar, and surrender the outcome instead of waiting for God to “get them” on our behalf. We also talk through the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation, why forgiveness doesn't mean ignoring abuse or automatically restoring access, and how hurt can turn into anger, defensiveness, or the urge to clap back. The team shares what it looks like to pause, pray, name the real wound, and invite the Holy Spirit into hard conversations. If you're struggling to forgive someone who hurt you, waiting for an apology you may never receive, wrestling with bitterness, or trying to handle conflict in a way that honors Christ, this episode is for you.My prayer is that this conversation helps you release the need for revenge, overcome evil with good, and trust God with the offense and the outcome. You can acknowledge what was wrong and still choose grace. Let God be your defender.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

As we look at the values that root us in who we are as a church, biblical teaching means we will proclaim the truth of God's Word week in and week out. Everything we do is guided by the truth of who God is and what He has called us to do. If we are going to saturate the world with the Good News by making disciples, we have to know who Jesus is, what He has called us to do, and what He taught us to do. The beauty is that God has not left us in this world without a way to know Him and follow Him. We have the Bible. Like a compass, God's Word is our guide and direction for how to live this life and know Him. In a world inundated with information and claims that twist the truth, we can trust that the Bible is reliable and trustworthy. The Bible doesn't answer every question we have, but it answers every question we need to know about who God is.Check out our video version of this episode: https://youtu.be/d_pldXhVTkYSubscribe to our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/8wmeCwBf_zkLearn more about us at chestnutmountain.orgFollow us on Facebook & Instagram @chestnutmtn_

In his first and second letters to Timothy, the Apostle Paul instructs his young mentee on how to properly handle the word of God. Today we can draw 6 lessons for the Church: 1) we should devote ourselves to the public reading of the Bible; 2) we should devote ourselves to the practice of preaching and teaching; 3) we should learn how to correctly handle the Word of Truth; 4) Remember that scripture is God-breathed; 5) Use scripture for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness; & 5) Always be prepared to preach the Word.

Dear Divorcees: Why God Hates Divorce, Trump's Failures & the Unnecessary Iran War

Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, I'm addressing the divorcee community and I'm going straight to the Bible. Why does God say He hates divorce? What does Scripture actually teach about marriage, covenant, divorce, and the responsibilities of husbands and wives? And why have divorce rates become so incredibly high, particularly as wives increasingly initiate divorce over reasons that, from a biblical perspective, are trivial, selfish, or completely unbiblical? This is not a message designed to just shame people who have experienced divorce. It is a challenge to the culture that has normalized abandoning marriage whenever things become difficult, inconvenient, or uncomfortable. We need to be willing to distinguish between legitimate biblical grounds for divorce and the endless list of modern excuses we've created to justify walking away from a sacred covenant. And that's not all we're discussing.I'm also talking about Donald Trump's continued failures, the gap between political promises and political reality, and why Americans should be questioning the decisions being made in our name.Plus, we're talking about the Iran War and why I believe this conflict is unnecessary and why Americans should be asking whether another foreign war actually serves the interests of the United States.Marriage. Divorce. Biblical truth. Trump. Iran. War. Political accountability.I'm saying what I believe needs to be said, even when it isn't popular (as usual).--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app

They weren't caught in a storm by accident; they were sent straight into the wind by obedience. Just because you are facing a massive storm doesn't mean you are out of the will of God. Sometimes, the path to your next level of faith requires going straight through contrary winds. God uses the storm to break your reliance on human comfort and push you toward a supernatural encounter.

This week, Jordan, Jay, and Nic join in for a conversation about spiritual warfare, repentance, and what it means to put on the full armor of God every day. After reflecting on the battles the Lord has carried us through, I realized that endurance is not passive. Sometimes we become so weary in our faithfulness that we stop fighting. Other times, we become so confident about the battles we've already survived that we stop guarding ourselves. Both can leave us spiritually vulnerable. We unpack 2 Samuel 11 and the moment David remained in Jerusalem when kings were expected to go to war. What began with being somewhere he was not supposed to be led to lust, sexual sin, deception, murder, and months of unrepentance. David's story reminds us why we must remain engaged in the fight, confess quickly, and never assume that past victories make us immune to temptation. If you're experiencing spiritual warfare, faithful fatigue, inconsistency, shame over sin, or weariness from fighting one battle after another, I pray this conversation encourages you. Seriousness does not mean joylessness, and devotion does not mean perfection. When you don't feel strong enough to fight, be honest with the Lord and ask Him to help you want what He wants.Keep fighting. Look to Jesus, hold tightly to His promises, and remember that you do not have to fight in your own strength.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Hey Guys! After a little break last week, I'm back with the team for a conversation about building endurance in the Christian faith through daily obedience, patience, and spiritual growth.Sanctification is a process, and so is building endurance. Using a lesson I learned from “ego lifting” in Pilates, we talk about why God may be more interested in our faithful reps than the amount of weight we're trying to carry. So many of us want the big moment, the visible calling, or the impressive testimony, but God often develops our character through the quiet monents each day.We talk about walking in step with the Holy Spirit without trying to rush ahead, remaining faithful when our growth feels invisible, and trusting that God is establishing roots beneath the surface.Through the lives of Abraham, Moses, and David, we're reminded that their public moments of faith were preceded by years of private preparation and obedience. If you're a new believer, discouraged by your pace, comparing your calling to someone else's, or wondering whether you're truly growing, I pray this episode encourages you. Baby steps are still steps. You don't have to reach the finish line first; you just have to keep going, looking to Jesus as the founder and perfecter of your faith.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this message, Samuel Goulet continues The Mountain Church's family series by exploring how the culture of our homes shapes the people we become and the impact we have on the world around us. He walks through five important questions every family can ask: what is being taught, nurtured, built, encouraged, and reached? With practical examples and heartfelt insight, Samuel encourages families to make Jesus the foundation of their home, teach faith relationally, nurture growth with intention, speak words that build up, and create homes that reflect the love, generosity, and presence of God to others.

AUTHORITY THAT TAKES TERRITORY | Pastor John Galloway

In this message, "Authority That Takes Territory: In The Name Of Jesus," Pastor John Galloway opens Mark 1:21-28 to show us what happened when Jesus walked into the synagogue at Capernaum and taught with an authority the people had never heard before. When an unclean spirit cried out, Jesus spoke one command and the enemy had to bow. That same authority has been given to you. Pastor John reminds us that our most valuable possession is our knowledge of God, and that spiritual warfare is over what you believe and what you know about your God. Taking territory begins in your mind, and when we truly know Him, we begin to take territory and the enemy loses ground. Darkness only has leverage in your life when it remains hidden, but the God you serve binds what binds you, torments what torments you, and destroys what has destroyed you. Through the power of the name of Jesus, you have been given the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. What Jesus did in His house, you have the right to do in yours. Scripture: Mark 1:21-28, Luke 10:19, Romans 12:1, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, Hosea 4:6 Stay connected at https://calvaryfl.com

Have you ever become so familiar with your struggle that it started to shape your identity? In episode three of our Summer Recap Series, Shelley Giglio is joined by Christine Caine as she opens John 5 and unpacks the story of the man who sat beside the Pool of Bethesda waiting for his breakthrough. Through Scripture and personal testimony, Christine challenges us to consider the ways we've become comfortable sitting in disappointment, bitterness, fear, shame, or unbelief—and reminds us that Jesus is still asking, "Do you want to be healed?" Healing isn't just about leaving something behind; it's about stepping into the purpose God has prepared for us. Whether you're carrying wounds from your past, struggling to trust God with your future, or simply feeling stuck in your faith, this message will encourage you to get up, pick up your mat, and walk in the freedom Jesus has already made available.
