Here's Season 5, Episode 16 first published on Friday April 19th 2024 ❿ Please check your cookies for a diamond... The lady who lost her diamond in cookie dough. And now they're asking that you check your cookie dough and be careful eating your cookie dough. This happened in Kansas. This poor lady lost a diamond off her wedding ring. It's worth about four grand. Figures it is either in the chocolate chip cookies that went out last Friday, or in the sugar cookies, or peanut butter cookies. So be careful eating those cookies. We link to the story and also to the Facebook post from SIS's Sweets Cookies and Cafe. It was on their Facebook where they made the announcement (be careful eating cookies may contain diamonds.) ❾ Beard World Records and Facial Hair World Records were acknowledged this past week by the Guinness World Records folks. These were all set during the National Beard and Mustache Championships late last year. Just being acknowledged now and officially written up by the Guinness World Records folks over on their website. One of the records was Longest Beard Chain. This is where you stand side by side with some other beardos. And you divide your beard into two. Left side gets attached to the person on your left/ The right side of your beard gets attached to the person on your right. And you twist those beards together or maybe there's some sort of beard scrunchie involved sometimes? Anyway, you just form a chain out of those magnificent beards. And the new world record is... 195 feet and something of beards. They did a similar thing with mustaches. The longest mustache chain. 20 feet and something. To participate, your mustache or beard has to be qualifying / has to be a certain length and then of course it has to be robust in order to withstand all of the fastening to other people's beards... and I would say another skill is you have to be able to stand still because you gotta wait while everybody's beard gets attached.If somebody starts to wiggle & a jiggle, well, you're gonna come undone. And that's the end of that world record. ❽ David Record Breaker Rush/ The fellow who wants to break all the world records. I believe that's official now that he just wants to break all of the world records and every week he's trying to break world records and he's going to get there you guys because he is determined and he seems like a good fellow. He uses the world record attempts to shine a light on education and especially STEM education. This one, you know, a lot of times it's a world record where I'll say, hey, try it this weekend. But This one, don't try it this weekend. The longest time for a lawnmower, which is running, to be balanced on your chin. That was the world record he set. Nine minutes and 17 seconds of balancing this electric mower on his chin... nine minutes and change! What an insanely dangerous world record attempt. Congratulations once again to Record Breaker Rush. I like this headline a lot. Bloke's baffling act in New South Wales River. A world first. They believe this fellow has a world record, the fellow who got into a pumpkin and started paddling that pumpkin. First of all, it's the biggest pumpkin grown in Australia. 407 kilograms, so what's that, 800 and something pounds. He hollowed it out, got inside and paddled it. Now this is something we've seen in the United States. And it, when I saw the story, I was like, of course, it is now autumn in Australia. It's pumpkin season in Australia now, (Word Limit! Park is a beard and mustache enthusiast, who chose to make writing books about beards her life's work.  Though her first published book was released in 2018, Kel E. has been writing on and off her whole life.  Kel E. met the boys in Chicago in 2019 at The National Beard and Mustache Championships while selling her book "Moustache Dash"- her life has never been the same... Our wonderful guest this episode was Jessica Hammond, esthetician to the starts, and Scott’s new beard coach!  Scott recently met with Jessica and received his first “beard facial”. The results were fantastic!!!  Jessica did a few different procedures on his beard, a deep cleansing, exfoliation, and application of hydration. Amy Black of Pink Ink Fund is one of the most captivating people I have ever met.  Her skills as an artist are unmatched and her heart is beyond full of goodness and kindness.   She maybe one of the most friendly and approachable people I have ever met and makes you instantly feel like someone important to her.  The Pink Ink Fund has helped many woman find normalcy in a tragic life situation and my interview with Amy is to celebrate what she has done for these woman and how she has changed their lives. The sport of bearding and mustaching is, at it’s essence, presenting the most magnificent example of facial hair as it fits in one of 17 or so categories. The World Beard and Mustache Championships have been held every two years since the early 2000’s and has been hosted all over Europe as well as in the United States.    

        The vision of an animal sanctuary and a pit bull rescue were just two of the ideas of Bully Ranch, recently started by married couple Paul Hendrix and Diane Blastic.  Paul and Diance,  members of the Austin Facial Hair Club, have been working with pitbulls for sometime now and have nothing but love and admiration for the breed. They have invested considerable time into understanding the training and the demeanor of this often understood animal.   In our conversation about Bully Ranch, we touched upon how everything finally came together for this to happen and how the loss of their beloved Trejo was the final piece. “His death devastated us. It was also the catalyst for getting our butts in gear to follow our dream of opening a pitbull rescue and rehabilitation center with the intent of becoming a City of Refuge for all animals.  Welcome to Bully Ranch!”(-taken from Bully Ranch IG @bullyranchatx ).  We discussed the importance of training and understanding your dog and the signs it may show you of being in distress, as well as how to handle those situations with proper techniques.  They stressed that the importance of training is more for the human than it is for the dog. Understanding your dog’s trigger points and stress factors and how to adjust your approach to a situation is a good way gain your dog’s trust.   Paul also announced a partnership Bully Ranch had recently made and he broke the news with all of us in the beard community.  The Austin Facial Hair Club has done many charity events over the years to help raise money for the local animal shelter, such as their annual Dog Beard and Mustache Competition which is emceed by Paul.  The facial hair community has given a lot to animal rescues and shelters nationwide and are one of the more popular of charities donated to for many events.  It seems to me that beards and dogs go hand-in-paw when it comes to the nature of this community.   I hope that you enjoy this episode and learn more about Bully Ranch.   Alice Jelley is a World Champion Whiskerina.    The 2017 World Beard and Mustache Championships were held in Austin Texas this past weekend. This was the greatest event I have ever attended and I have never had so much fun in my life.  It was a complete sensory overload for me as I saw so many incredible beards and mustaches, made new friends, and connected with many old friends I have made from previous competitions.  There was so much to experience at the event that I don't even know where to begin! This will be my last show for a couple of weeks. I plan on taking some time off, so I can attend and compete at the World Beard and Mustache Championships in Austin, Texas.
