Why is salmon pink? What is the shelf life of a Twinkie? What do almonds and peaches have in common? These are just a few of the fun food facts we cover to kick off this episode. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/food-facts_n_4788746 How many times would you guess the “Like” button is pressed by people every day around the world? You are about to find out and it is a lot! Where did the like button come from? Why is it so important? What does it do for the person who does the liking and for the person (or business) who gets your “like”? Listen to my guest Martin Reeves, who has explored the history of the like button and why it has become such a big part of our lives. Martin is chairman of the BCG Henderson Institute, a think tank for developing new business ideas and he is co-author of the book Like: The Button That Changed the World (https://amzn.to/4cTgCUn). What is going on right now in your body is astonishing. Things like tears and your breath and even mucus. It is all fascinating and worth understanding. (And I promise we do not get really gross!) Joining me for this discussion is Cutter Wood, who has thoroughly explored and researched this topic and written a book called Earthly Materials: Journeys Through Our Bodies' Emissions, Excretions, and Disintegrations (https://amzn.to/4lPEJHw) You have likely had the dilemma of owning a favorite pair of shoes that need to be repaired and the question is – do you fix them or just get a new pair? In the long time that Saul has been playing RPGs, there has been some instances where players did some weird things. At least unexpected things that he saw as both a GM and a Player. Saul remembers a couple instances where players acting strange may have caused problems in the session. Jolene relates a story she read online about a player who indeed acted strange for no logical reason that Saul and Jolene did not understand. What causes players to act in a strange way? Saul proposes some ideas as to what would make a player to do strange things in a roleplaying game. From stealing for other character to trying to fight other player's character in a session. Sometimes players demand that other players act or play in a certain way. As a GM it is very important to understand why players are acting in a way that could cause problems in a gaming group. Generally it is very confusing as to why narcissists behave in such weird ways when analysing their behaviours through a normal mindset lenses. Predicting a narcissist's behaviour and actions using a normal persons thought process and societal norms and expectations will produce an incorrect conclusion. This educational talk explains 13 weird behaviours of narcissists common to all and the reasons behind why narcissists behave accordingly and predictably. Once we understand the mindset of the enemy we can forearm ourselves and navigate the Narcissistic Personality Disorder more successfully, particularly where we have to negotiate terms. Understanding an opponent's behaviour drivers provides a strong advantage when faced with a non compromising attitude such as is typical with narcissists.https://youtu.be/rxz-dTt1MSkWebsite - Www.weaponizedlove.com Coaching Enquiries - narcscon@gmail.com Channel Support with thanks, PayPal link:https://paypal.me/narcscon?country.x=IE&locale.x=en_USSpeaking Engagements - narcscon@gmail.comNarc Con Amazon Book Link Below:Weaponised Love -https://a.co/d/g4bB4MIShop Design & Technology:https://www.tracyspence.co.uk/Disclaimer: This YouTube channel provides information for educational purposes only. Ever wonder if you're the only one who does that weird thing? Turns out, you're definitely not alone. This week, we're pulling back the curtain on those strange little habits we all have but rarely discuss openly.Scott kicks things off by confessing his peculiar aversion to odd numbers – from meticulously setting the microwave timer to even numbers only, to adding that extra penny at the gas pump to avoid ending on an odd figure. Meanwhile, Keith shares his former habit of dissolving Alka-Seltzer pieces on his tongue, and Jim admits to having full conversations with his pets (though as we discover, that particular "quirk" is surprisingly universal). The real gems come from our listeners, who shared their own delightfully strange behaviors. From the person who collects and names over 100 crab species, to those who eat cereal with a fork to avoid sogginess, to the folks who name their vehicles and talk to them like beloved pets. We explore it all – the food rituals, the social avoidance tactics, the peculiar personal preferences that make us uniquely human. What makes this exploration so fascinating isn't just the quirks themselves, but the realization that these supposedly "weird" habits are often shared by millions. Behind each strange behavior is usually a logical (if personal) reason – whether it's seeking comfort, establishing control, or simply finding joy in life's little moments. So whether you turn down your car radio to see better while driving, pretend your life is a reality show with background extras, or insist on eating jelly beans one color at a time – take comfort knowing you've got company. This episode is a judgment-free celebration of the beautiful strangeness we all carry. What's your weird habit?Thank you for giving us a go, and hope you stick with us as we have some really amazing guest on and hole you have a laugh or two but no more than three. Key Points: - The Montgomery County Maryland Circuit Court dismissed with prejudice a suit brought by the Attorney General's offices of Maryland and the District of Columbia against three Montgomery County firearms dealers, reinforcing that dealers can't be held responsible for criminal acts by third parties. - The Fifth Circuit ruled that suppressors are not firearms and thus not protected by the Second Amendment, a decision seen as intellectually bankrupt and likely driven by a desire to avoid controversy. - A blind man in Indiana received a concealed carry permit and used the occasion to call for "common sense" gun laws, sparking debate about the rights of disabled individuals to bear arms.
